[Discussion] Remove Situational Awareness skill from BB (and CV)?
Culiacan_Mexico replied to Ubertron_X's topic in General Discussion
"...you will only punish BB captains who actually try to get close and support their team mates..." You have chosen a different scenario.- 62 replies

Why the Asashio is fine (to WG).

I don't agree with the game style this ship will most likely promote. I am a DD player. -
[Discussion] Remove Situational Awareness skill from BB (and CV)?
Culiacan_Mexico replied to Ubertron_X's topic in General Discussion
BBs that are close and support their teammates are spotted anyway... in that situation it is a worthless skill. BBs that are far from the action... they are the ones who need this.- 62 replies

[Discussion] Remove Situational Awareness skill from BB (and CV)?
Culiacan_Mexico replied to Ubertron_X's topic in General Discussion
So vital? This was a 'nothing' captains skill for BB players.- 62 replies

Are you seeking more historic ramming accuracy on BBs with magic heals and non-historic main gun accuracy and AA?
-
I believe WG has stated that this is a programming issue with little likelihood of being changed.

[Discussion] Remove Situational Awareness skill from BB (and CV)?

It is a fair suggestion, but it will meet resistance. Anything that smacks of balance with regards to BBs will inevitably lead to claims that BBs will camp harder.- 62 replies

With WG choice of spotting mechanics, some ships would not be viable, but instead of 'correcting' the spotting issues, concealment and smoke became the answer. The addition of smoke in it present fixed some issues, but created other problems. Radar was added; and while it 'fixed' some issues it created others. I don't believe chaff or what ever would change this pattern.

do you think games are fixed ??
Culiacan_Mexico replied to KillerDolphin's topic in General Discussion
Fixed... not at all. Cristiano Ronaldo's slow start to the season sparks Ballon d'Or race TWO GAMES WITHOUT a goal is run of the mill for most footballers, but for Cristiano Ronaldo it constitutes a drought. Ronaldo will be looking to forget his early season struggles as Real Madrid aim to lay down a marker in their quest for a third consecutive Champions League at Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday. Cristiano Ronaldo’s stunning overhead kick helps Real Madrid floor Juventus For a brief moment, there was stunned silence. It felt as if nobody could comprehend what they had witnessed. Then the applause broke out. It came from all sides of this boisterous arena. In great blocks, the Juventus supporters rose to their feet. It was to recognise sporting genius and it did not matter to them that it had come from a rival. Ronaldo’s numbers are freakish and, at the age of 33, they show no sign of letting up. He has 25 goals in his last 14 games for club and country. He has scored in every Champions League tie this season and he leads the field for the competition’s Golden Boot with 14. Something seems to stir inside him when he hears the aria. -

Rigged Unbalanced crap to Play no Fun, ripped off obvious lumpy ungraceful Game
Culiacan_Mexico replied to freekymachine's topic in General Discussion
True there are things wrong with this game and WG in general. But... For someone to believe WG went to all the trouble to alter their programming just to rig the game against them... is a little odd. -
All I can say is that I care about my performance in the specific ship I am trying to learn/play; and I believe that WR is the best measurement of that performance. My skills in DDs are ok at best, so to improve that WR, I have to play for the team.... it is the only way for me to improve my WR.

Good is relative. Some play with the intention of not getting sunk... or at least not getting sunk fast. Is there a better ship type to play than BBs or play style of camping at max range to accomplish that goal?

Why would they rig the game against you? -
You are correct, but probably not for the reasons you think.

Hunt DDs with Hydro? Ignoring its usage in torpedo protection, hydro is a positional weapons: great for challenging DDs in smoke or for acquire intel on DDs behind cover, but in open water... it isn't effective. Of course, I don't think it is meant to be effective in that role, so no surprise. In most cases, a cruiser will detect the DD before they get into hydro range... barring the use of smoke. In the current BB heavy meta, a cruiser going into open water trying to chase down a DD to hydro them... is somewhere between situational to suicide. Now as a DD player, if the opposing team cruisers want to chase after me, well I am all for it... especially if it is at the start of the game.- 49 replies

Sit at max range behind an island in a Germany battleships and you will out live virtually everyone on your team. Everyone will see it too and recognize the rewards of camping in a BB.
-
In my opinion, if you team play in a DD your win rate improves.
-
Team play does get rewarded.

Regression Towards Mediocrity Every time you start a match two main components come into play your skill and luck; and the biggest part of luck is the composition of the teams. Over a large number of games the luck component will regress towards mean; and what you are left with is skill. It is not surprising that there are games in which a teams fails to sink a single ship on the opposing team. What would actually be uprising is if it never happened. Regression toward the mean In statistics, regression toward (or to) the mean is the phenomenon that if a variable is extreme on its first measurement, it will tend to be closer to the average on its second measurement—and if it is extreme on its second measurement, it will tend to have been closer to the average on its first. To avoid making incorrect inferences, regression toward the mean must be considered when designing scientific experiments and interpreting data.
