From Reddit: Statistics on the EU server population

1. This is true. 2. Only WG has the data one when new player quit, or at least they should. I have always wondered about the tier five wall of difficulty.- 78 replies

Scenario: AI reaction to Torpedo release is instant?
Culiacan_Mexico replied to Bratwurst_Bob's topic in General Discussion
This is what I have found. DD are very good in Coop where the bots aren't 'heavy scripted' to act in a singular way, but in operations destroyers are fairly weak. -

I will give that a try, but generally, I only launch torpedoes at long range targets to herd them. 4 Km or less is my sweet zone for attacking. -

Generally they recognize a torpedo launch and respond to it, so you need to take that in to account and adjust. -
Yes, but back in your day the only game around was running from dinosaurs.

Current state of the game and where it's headed (all the radars)
Culiacan_Mexico replied to OldschoolGaming_YouTube's topic in General Discussion
The radar heavy meta will eventually subside... or it won't. If it subsides, there will most likely be few DD players... and they will most likely be stronger players, giving DD greater influence, which will of course lead some mains in others ships to complain DDs have too much influence. or The radar meta will stay, just like the BB meta has stayed, some of the DDs standard tasks capping, scouting, screening will be of less value. There should be a loss in the amount of damage DDs cause, which will leave WG in a quandary: leave DDs to travel the same path as CV... or buff their damage output considerably. Right now WG is hoping, beyond hope, it will all go away, as the really don't have a plan on how to handle this. -
Battleship AP on DD's nerf to early?
Culiacan_Mexico replied to Hannibalurg's topic in General Discussion
I don't think you can, because this is part of the problem. Too many player in every type of ship equate high damage with being a good player, but the truth is... not all damage is equal. I am not even talking about the difference between damage to a DD vs damage to a BB , but when and where that damage is inflicted. A BB that sets back and snipes at cruisers and does 40K damage is not equal to a BB that does the same amount of damage to cruiser supporting cap defense or capture. A DD that averages 60K damage at teir 8 might sound like they are doing well, until you find out all they do is sail the edges of the map and hunt CV... CVs that can play 15 minutes of the game, while the DD is doing literally nothing. BBs that camp and farm random damage look like they are doing well, while having little impact on the output of the game. Team work is an interesting concept; and it doesn't always mean the same thing to all players. Far too often, team work to individuals on my side means for me to go out and spot while they hide. -

Has it improved? I think the argument that there is a limited market of people interested in this jandra; and that newer players are trying the game and finding it unappealing is worth considering. Now if it is true; and we come back to the question... is a game that has slowly turned into something fairly static appealing to the average gamer; and if it is not... has the game improved?- 78 replies

Interesting response. You seem mad. Did something happen? -

What does the average DD have to do when attacked by a CV? As a DD player you have to learn to deal with it. -

1. Why do you assume you should spot these ships by pushing a key? 2. If smoke is the issue, why not adjust smoke? 3. Real life leads down some weird paths. Magic heals on BBs, radar/sonar through land mass, insane BB accuracy, the ability to shoot at ships you can not see, etc. -

Why do we need radar? Please note: radar is here to stay. -

I think radar as implement is stupid, and in the coming weeks/months there will be a lot of it, but where it sticks around (large number of radars) like German BB did... I am unsure. The higher tier US CL line looks kind of fragile. -

I have no idea what WG wants in that area, just that the stated many time there are issues with BB AP vs DDs not working as intended. The is/might be an issue with multiple pens from the same shell. I think WG is either working on it or researching it. They need time to figure it out and get it right. -

It isn't 10K salvos that are the issue, but how BB AP works against most DDs. In WG own words, "It is not working as intended". A similar issue happened with BBs a couple of updates ago. Remember? -

1. I probably should not, but I will. 2. Currently, the average BB player has the least impact on the outcome. -
Would you like co-op battles to be made 8v12?
Culiacan_Mexico replied to StringWitch's topic in General Discussion
I like brawling with Germany BBs also. It is great fun. -
It looks like it might take some work to get it.

I don't play coop correctly! My favorite ship it the Kiev... the killer torpedo boat. 4K torpedoes. Someone once commented, "I have never seen someone play the Udaloi as a torpedo boat!" One human and seven bots against 12 bots would be interesting. -
Well, I haven't seen a good Conq thread in a while, so maybe....

Just my opinion. I would like to see variations. Five or six BB in a game is not bad, but it does get old when it is the 'standard'. I like games with low amounts of DDs, but have some 4-5 DD games would be an interesting change... just not every game. The same with cruisers. Variations in team composition requires me to alter my game play... it keeps it interesting.

Discussion thread for "some interesting info around the world"
Culiacan_Mexico replied to Deamon93's topic in General Discussion
The increase in firepower in each game has gone up on average. 2 BBs 5 BBs 4 CA/CL vs 4 BBs 6 DDs vs 3 DD Replace the gunpower of 3 DDs with that of 3 BBs. Is that not is a significant increase in firepower each match, this is excluding the fact that DDs usually target each other. This fire power has restricted cruiser in their ability to freely move and counter DDs. Just to add on. The present situation of lots of BB, restrict cruiser movement, and fewer DD... is great for me personally. Even more radar will work out for me because it will drive some DD players into other types of ships. DDs don't lose the ability to influence games, so... my influence becomes greater. -

Oh, just to point out for probably the hundredth time to the uniformed, less DD is good for DD players as a rule. -

2 1/2 years ago 2-3 BB were average, but now it is 5. Why are clan battles restricted to one BB per team? Why not 3-4 BBs per team? A cruiser facing a single BB can angle and turn with some assurances, but against 3-4... I am told by cruiser mains that increases the difficulty. Do you disagree? As a DD player going into a cap against a single opposing side DD difficulty is not high, but against multiple DDs... substantially harder.
