TO WG regarding the radarsituation
Culiacan_Mexico replied to Fionia_DK's topic in General Discussion
So yet us nerf BBs until they can not counter cruisers, "but that wouldn't be a problem if there was balance of numbers of type of ships allowed per team." -
"Raptor Rescue" Scenario: Are you out of your mind? Who okayed this?
Culiacan_Mexico replied to Bratwurst_Bob's topic in General Discussion
I am. I just gave it a try... two games: one was a lost the other was five stars. The first team consisted had 1 BB, 4 cruisers and 2 DDs; and it got worse from there (the lost was well earned). The second team was 3 BB and 4 cruisers... a much better selection of ships, plus the players had a better understand of what was required. This wasn't a great team only marginally average, which was more than enough. Unlike coop, ops require some form of teamwork and understanding. If you are unlucky with your team mates thing can be very rough. Note: this was solo. -

TO WG regarding the radarsituation
Culiacan_Mexico replied to Fionia_DK's topic in General Discussion
WG won't do anything until the impact of US CLs can be measured. -
6. To be realistic, all magical repair should be removed.. at all tiers. 12. Since it must be realistic, BB AA needs major nerfs, while CVs need huge buffs.

In the game, a DD can shoot at other ships even though they don't have an unblocked line of sight (inside smoke), as long as a team member can detect the opposing team ship. You want to change that so that if the player themselves do not detect the opposing ship, they can not target a ship. Basically, if you can not detect the ship yourselves, you can not target it. As a DD player I am all for it. This would be the best buff DDs have ever gotten. Thank you
-
Actually measurable? WG needs to wait a couple of months to collect data and see if the percentage of DDs in a game has fallen noticeably. Since at mid tier DDs are the least played ship type (excepts CV), further reducing they amount played would be a problem. Non-statistically measurable would be the overall game and where they want to take it. I believe at one point WG said the smoke meta created to much passivity and was stagnant, so WG will have to decide if a radar meta (should if come to that) is what they want.
-
At this point, I don't think they can.
-
Should they balance BB gameplay around potato BB gameplay?
-
I fully agree. Yet that is what WG has done. Adding mechanics like radar would be counterproductive as now you have smoke consumables and if you add consumable or captain skill that could negate smoke could then lead to request to additional consumables or captain skill that will remove effect of radar and so and so ... I don't think that this would be a good thing.

I achieved five solo warriors... I don't recall any of them coming easy. -
AI doesn't have "rendering delay" and targets you instantly
Culiacan_Mexico replied to EdiJo's topic in General Discussion
In Killer Whale, the AI DDs can drop smoke then actually stop in it and fire. I have never seen this behavior in coop. Tin foil or a difference in AI programming? In Raptor Rescue, if you head south early there can be three ships other than the CV, DD and Kuma. Those three ships will fire on me, but they never drive at me. I am spotted and the closes player. Tin foil or is the AI programming different than Coop? -

... and yet your experience is limited in coop, and you have already come to a conclusion. Here is my experience bots in coop and operations can act very differently, which I put down to programming. In coop, ships with smoke will drop it and just keep moving... never intentionally stopping to use it. I put this down to just WG doing little programming in this area... does that make it tinfoil? In coop, bot do not play objectives (generally), and I have never lost a game due to points. Is this tinfoil or is this just because WG never programmed the bots to 'care' about points? WG has said that coop is not proper PvE, is it possible that they did not develop a very strong or detailed AI for this mode? For example. Lets us just leave this to spotted players. In coop, on neighbors if you take a ship straight into the middle the bots will come right at you regardless, yet in Raptor Rescue you can see at the very end when the BB and cruisers attack, they will turn away and fire from distance. Is this tinfoil or WG AI programming. -
Many of the CC do the exact same thing, and they have balls. Is it possible this is an effective strategy for many based on their abilities?

You ignore experience, and refuse to actually try it yourself... because you mind was already made up. A closed mind. What makes you think the AI programming in coop, operation, etc all work the same? ...and since you don't play coop, why do you care? -

Play coop, get some experience. Try taking a DD, get in front of your team, get closes to the bots, maintain concealment and then try to flank. They will follow you, until another 'target' changes their pattern. Bot programming in coop is fairly basic. MrConway - Co-op is really meant to be a bit of a training and testing ground, for proper PvE we recommend operations :) -

Play a thousand game of coop and get back to me. Try to actually get some experience... try to learn. People like you... a know it all, with no knowledge. -
Too many T10 ships driving around

Give tier 10 the same MM as tier 1. They can play with themselves. -

How many games have you played in Coop? That is right 125. Please stop showing your ignorance. -

The opposing team DDs interfere with my screening and scouting for my team; and without an opposing DD I can disrupt the cruisers and BBs without doing one point of damage. I believe it gives me more influence on the outcome of the game. -

The AI CVs know where you are and will generally target the closes ships, but not always for unknown reasons. The AI ships also know where the closes ship is and will plot and intercept course, but not always. Some bots act oddly on occasion. Bots need the buff, but you can use it against them. -

Why would a DD players want 5 DDs per team? As I have stated before, the more BBs the better for me... personally. -
How is a Farragut supposed to do well in a T8 game?
Culiacan_Mexico replied to FearsomeFlotsam's topic in General Discussion
Well there is good news and bad news. Good News! You are correct, Tier 6 DDs are completely outclassed by their tier 8 DD counterparts' as tier 6 MM is the absolutely worst for destroyers. The Bad News! Tier 6 DDs are not completely useless vs tier 8s, you just haven't found found that success yet. It isn't easy and failure will happen often. Good News! If you are low tier then others on your team are high tier and the should step up and carry the team to victory... you know that isn't likely. Some of the people on your team could be in tier 10 ships in a tier 1 game and still do nothing, but that also applies to the opposing team. It is the player that makes the ship... the ship doesn't make the player. If you learn how to play this ship, being up tiered won't be ideal, but you can make it work. -
WG is not going to make any changes until after the US CL are fielded and data is collected. Changes might occur if the radar heavy meta sticks.

Easy kills, well not for me because I am not that good. I have yet to kill all eight bots in a single match, while I have got very close... I just have not made it happen. Hope spring eternal!
