WG like gimmicks... they seem to be somewhat less interested in game balance. Maybe two more line of radar coming: Italian cruisers and Russian BBs. Also British CL will have radar, but won't be able to fire HE or AP...only ramming ability.

DD game play is utterly broken

Yes, but it took me sometime to break my old cap fighting habits.

DD game play is utterly broken

I was playing cruisers when the German BBs line went live. Eleven opposing BBs and me in a cruiser... it wasn't pretty.

This amount of radar ships might only be temporary, as generally after the release of a new line, they peak, then decline. That should be what happens this time.

You could be right... this is where my bias could kick in and it might actually distort my view.

What is my bias? It should be clear as day it you read most of my posts. 1. Radar is in the game and isn't being removed nor will it be change near to mid term, so git gud. 2. Long term smoke is detrimental to overall game play as it can lead to passivity. 3. Long range torpedoes being used as nothing more than area denial tools leads to passivity. 4. BB over dominance leads to passive cruiser game play. 5. Asashio the wrong type of DD, as it will target the more active BBs. (another thread.) 6. ETC See my bias? Now the next question, that you seem reluctant to answer... what is yours?

I am quote me now. "Ok, name some of the bias observations from those that are not hard core appologist. (Your term)." You call one group "hard core appologist", so there must group or groups other than them. What are some of their biases? Just to note again: the poll is stupid.

I thought that was what he meant, we are all bias. He said he has talked about biases on both side, so I was wonder what he had seen. I guess from his responses that is not what he meant.

This is what you posted. I will quote you "...talking about bias observation from both sides...". What sides were you talking about or do you retract this statement?

    Nerf or Remove Radar

So when you said both sides... you only meant one side was bias. Not your side I take it?

ForlornSailor - "...talking about bias observation from both sides..." By definition of the words sides. Plural.

You said bias from both side and that one these you call "hard-core-appologists" I was asking if you would elaborate on the biases of the group that is not part of "hard-core-appologists". What are this biases? I do it. A DD that position themselves in front of their cruiser and BB, which is where they should be if possible, will automatically spot torpedoes within a certain range.

I was claiming you did or didn't. It just stating it seems to happen in these 'discussions'. Another thing I noticed in this thread were people using the logical fallacy of that what is true for them must be true for the group as a whole: in the thread the say in effect, "I have no problem with radar therefore there is no problem". That is why I posted my stats from the Shima Meta and stated I had no problem... but there was still a problem.

    Commander retraining bug?

    You got it.

    Commander retraining bug?

WG has been very helpful in this regard and will allow you to spend doubloons for retraining; and if you don't have enough you can use real money and buy some!!!

There does seem to be a recurring theme of misrepresenting someone position either through accident/carelessness or out right intentionally. I find it rather puzzling.

Radar counters the Khaba? When did this happen? If radar is counter DDs then what are the 'good' DD players saying... it is ineffective. No issue to them. That is one pathetic counter. The consumable radar is not a counter to any one type of ships... it is area denial tool. It will spot any ships with in a certain range: destroyers, cruiser, battleship, and carriers. Smoke counters line of sight... sort of now. Radar counters concealment.

Absolutely, and good players in DDs are following the same path players took during the Shima Meta avoidance... stay back, play more cautiously. How is this desirable? (Rhetorical)

The fewer the DDs, the better it is for me. Federation Constitution-class starship?

I posted some stats, on some thread, that showed before the US CL, radar was 1.5 on average, but moved up to 3.0 after their release, but we all know that the ships peak and then decline. I said it might level out at about 2.0 per team, a modest increase. Not the end of the world. The poll is stupid.

A little unclear here, but are you pointing out that radar is not an "I win button"? If you are then, I agree. or Are you trying to say something else?
