    New content suggestions

Once the CV rework is complete: The Battle of Midway with players in aircraft only. No ownership of CV required as this would allow a broad spectrum of player to experience the new game play. Perhaps draw some interest to CV play overall.

I responded to this, "...some of them play like tier I players without a clue...". You are new player and just learning, but you want to throw shade at others? Three years ago I was where you are now. If you want to have better games, if you want to improve, then it starts with you.

Win Rate and High stat player attitudes

I have players tell me stuff like: "learn to play DDs", "you suck", "uninstall the game", "etc". I wouldn't pay much attention to it. Instead, look at your own performance and decide if you are happy with your skill level.

To Tier X or not to Tier X

Just my opinion with regards to the Pan-Asian DDs Shenyang and Fushun, if all you are doing is sitting in smoke and spamming HE, then you are underplaying these ships. The extra smoke allows risk taking to gain positions to use the deepwater torpedoes, which are the weapons system that can swing games your way. These DDs are best used as mobile, scouting, screening, strikers... not static spammers. Just my opinion.

I'm the BB that pushes. Not anymore. And I love it!

I won't speak for high tier, but at mid tier a BBs are generally better off supporting the push, which is in the range 5-7 Km behind my DD (give or take). At the start of battle I get out quickly to spot and give my team intel on what is in front of them, give them the information the need to decide what action they want to take. Hopefully if my part of the team is the minor part and I scout out the opposing team main group, they will conduct a organized withdraw. If my team decides otherwise, and ends up attacking a superior force, I can still supply some scouting and screening, but against mass HE spam... my options are very limited. If a BB with health, armor and heals can be burned down, what do you think will happen to a DD? What would you have me do?

    CV Rework Discussion

Just some rough math. Without hidden accounts everything should even out, so basically the hidden accounts caused 51 more loses vs wins during that week. Does that sound about right or possible? players total battles win lose Hakuryu 56 1080 523 556 - 33 wins Midway 225 4770 2375 2393 - 18 wins

    CV Rework Discussion

I don't believe CV are OP, but that is just guessing because I don't play them. However,... Take any ship and show that it has an 49% win rate and it may seem fine on the surface, but if deep in it statistic it shows that the top 20% of the players are winning in excess of +80% solo, while the other 80% are managing in the low 40% range. This could be an issue. It may not be balanced correctly. I think hidden account throw things off with regards to win percentages.

idea for new equipment ECM/radar spoofing

If I may point out this section: "...they are aware of the issue of radar, and the "nuke"-factor it has because of focus-fire..." This is an issue with spotting mechanics in which you can target ships you don't actually spot. --------------------------------------------------------- Will there be balancing of radar in matchmaker? They don't want to introduce new factors for the matchmaker, since it would mean it would take too long to assemble a team (there are already enough requirements for it), the waiting time would really be too long. Some players don't mind the longer waittime, but most are annoyed by it. Additionally they think if a consumable is too influential in winning, they will rebalance said consumable in general. They did research from statistics on the EU regarding radar & winning, and it's not THAT influential as such as a consumable, but some ships that have radar are influential on their own, with or without radar. One of those ships is Missouri. That ship has too much influence, and is strong (but not truly OP). They are looking into changing radar, including a LOS-method. But nothing that can be shared yet. But they are aware of the issue of radar, and the "nuke"-factor it has because of focus-fire. But it's all still very early, with no final solution yet known.

    1. The Shima meta was not unfun to capping DDs (for the most part) because the meta effect was not very great on them, in fact, lots of the Shima had captains who werey low risk players who stayed clear of caps. Radar doesn't bother BBs or your average cruisers because it doesn't have a negative impact on them. 2. I can't see radar being removed. 3. Passivity. Radar isn't the problem, nor are long range torpedo, or smoke, but the way WG seems to implements them makes them part of the problem. The players responses to each of these 'items'... the easiest effective counter... is passivity. Radar: DDs play cautiously stay at distance, Long Range Torpedoes: BBs play cautiously stay at distance., long term smoke, BBs and usually cruiser play cautiously stay at distance. I would add, lots of BB in a match... cruisers play cautiously stay hidden. 4. Radar as implement is something I don't care for, but it is not OP. The day BBs are balanced correctly, and cruisers can actually move semi freely like they did 3 years ago... then radar will be OP. Cruisers will rule. Note: I included the WG statement below because it is one of my concerns: WG 're-balancing' radar. I have not seen recently any statement by WG on what their goal is with radar, so I can't help but believe they will make some rather 'odd' changes. I also find it odd that WG needed a year of data to notice that German BB might be overplayed after their launch, but two months after US CL radar they are considering action. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Will there be balancing of radar in matchmaker? They don't want to introduce new factors for the matchmaker, since it would mean it would take too long to assemble a team (there are already enough requirements for it), the waiting time would really be too long. It wasn't unfun for me, and actually did fairly well during that time, but I understood that it had negative effects on overall game play... increased passivity. We will see how radar works out.

The Shima Meta wasn't an auto win either. A smoke Meta is not an auto win.

    Radar Discussion Megathread

    1. British CL to WG is so last year, while US CL are so now. Players are probably spending real money to grind out US CL, I am not sure that is the case for British CL; or at least not to the extend of US CLs. US CLs were just balanced and released with radar as part of their 'package'. Would US cruisers, be they CA or CL, be so heavily played without radar? It isn't that WG couldn't remove radar from ships and compensate (re-balance them) but that would mean WG would have to do something... something that is not in their plans. 2. A. Low tier and High Tier have significant differences. Mid tier as well. B. There are counters to smoke, although at higher tiers their effectiveness fades. C. Smoke, long term, contributes to a passive game style. Radar does too. Note: When hydro first came out, I worked my way up to the Königsberg with 176 games played an a 63.07% solo win rate. I was overall still a very bad player who didn't understand what a citadel was, but the point is that hydro allowed this cruiser to tactically challenge DDs who dared to sit in smoke. There was risk but the reward was great. The Meta at that time allowed that type of game play. However, even as I (a marginal player at best) was terrorizing DDs, the forum was filled with cruiser players not happy and wanting something that would actually work: hydro should be 10Km minimum. On some ships the tools were already there, but that required them to accept risk, and they wanted no part of that. Some of that thinking is still around.

I did some rough calculations, and by taking a week in April this year and comparing it to last week... April - 9.2% of High Tier cruisers played were US (radar). August - 18.8 of High Tier cruisers played were US (radar). I believe some people are still grinding the US cruisers; and the numbers will fall. Note: I think the data available does show a decline in the number of US cruiser (%) played since the last of July.

Has it? The last I checked, radar cruisers played was still 'inflated'... for reasons. My opinion is WG should wait at least a couple more months before even thinking about where the Meta is at.
