    Ok. Let me change direction. When I first started playing and had a 43% winrate, I eventually came to a crossroads... a point in which I had to decide if I was happy with my performance. I decided I was not, and so I sought out information on this forum and through videos. Now at the time I did not post on the forum, but just read it, so this particular piece of advice was not directed at me, but it did apply. "Your problem is you fail from one ships to the next never truly understanding how each one works." Ouch. I went from one ship to the next with both failing to understand each ship and game play mechanics overall. Harsh, but... if true then all I had to do was make a commitment to learn, to practice... to experience. If a DD player came to me in the same situation you are now, and wanted tips or tricks... I would tell them to go to tier 4 and play and learn. If he asked me which tier 4 DD to play, I would say all of them. 100 games each and get that win rate about 50% What you do is up to you, but I don't think there is anyway forward without commitment and effort. I could be wrong.

    At these tiers you are not an average player, which is why your winrate is sub-optimal. You can check this by playing at tier 4 a few hundred games and you should see you win rate rise.

    The thing is... most DDs in game don't play like historical DDs (none of the ships play historically). Consider them more of a mix of DD and submarine. The DD part is the scouting, screening, capping, etc support actions; while the torpedo attacks are more like the submarine part (positioning, stealth, heavy damage attacks, etc). The submarine functions can not be performed in the back with the carrier, so a DD there, will be out of position and underutilized.

    You are not average at these tiers. The obvious suggestion is to move to lower tiers and enhance your skill base. Tier Games Played Winrate VII 180 41.67% VIII 300 43.33% IX 47 48.94% X 58 32.76%

    I would like to see many nations, who would not be considered major naval power during this time, have ships lines, even if they don't go to T10. However, WG loves T10 for some reason... I wonder why. Heresy!

    They are eliminating CVs as we know them, that is for sure. WG decided the only way to save CVs... was to destroy them.

    If carriers were OP, then it would all be so simple for WG balancing... just nerf them, but the truth is the majority of players using CVs generally underperform. These are the 'REDS', players whose impact in game are little different or perhaps even less so than players in other types of ships. It is the 'PURPLES' through skill, training, talent and diligent effort who a have so much impact on the game. It isn't the tool, it is the person.

    I played my first game of ranked this season, during which one of our cruisers got sunk early. He was less than happy with my performance, although we won and I was top one our team.     That sounds great, plus can we reduces the number of torpedoes DD carried to perhaps one in the tubes and a single reload? For me as a DD player, that would be one of the best things that ever happened to DDs, but BB and cruiser players would cry tears for days. Do you understand why?

    DATA Overall it looks like players are still grinding Kitakaze to get to the Harugumo. The 421 players using the Harugumo probably do not represent the average player, so it would be expected, using past historical data, to see both win rate and damage fail somewhat. Will they be considered balanced then? I don't know.     1. You tried to use 'Historical' to justify your opinion on game balance... WG doesn't care about what is or isn't historic. If you want to present a position/opinion that these two DDs are not balanced properly using 'historically' is pretty much a fail. 2. I am not sure you are correct, but at least this logic is how the game is normally balanced. 3. People like me? I don't believe I have made a comment one way or the other on whether these two ships are balanced. 4. Again, I never commented on whether they are balanced or not, only on trying to use 'historically' as a game balancing argument.

    You are correct, if the only criteria is how it affects your game, then 3 division unicom players are much worse than a very poor player on your own team; but I don't think that is the only criteria. What is often not said, but implied, is that there is frustration with a player than refuses, seemingly, to learn. To care.
