  1. Sub Octavian says it is for BBs. But anyway, what is the purpose of including this skill?
  2. Why include this skill? What is the purpose in adding it?
  3. Then why add it to the game? If this skill is virtually useless, then why not replace it with something else? What is the argument for keeping it?
  4. Seriously? So many DD players are getting Solo Warrior so often that you have to add a skill to counter it? This is what you are trying to sell?
  5. When CA/CL face five BB and get smashed: answer L2P. When DDs face radar and sonar that sees through land mass: answer L2P. When CV attack ships with devastating AA: answer L2P. Etc. When BBs have the slightest problem... mommy help me. See the pattern? You end up with a lot of crappy BB players who camp in German BBs and demand changes to the game because it is so so hard for them.
  6. I am not saying I am doing it right, but I am only using DE on my Russian DDs. That might not change.
  7. I think (based on no evidence) that the Devs think DDs are broken because of player skill. DD players are too good and BB players are not skilled enough. So they decided to 'adjust' things to nerf DDs overall and buff BBs. BBs are where the money is.

Gun Reload on Battleships and Range

The Type 93's development (in parallel with a submarine model, the Type 95) began in Japan in 1928, under the auspices of Rear Admiral Kaneji Kishimoto and Captain Toshihide Asakuma. The torpedo design was inspired by the British oxygen-enriched torpedoes used on the Nelson-class battleships. The Japanese Navy invested heavily in developing a large, heavy, and long-range torpedo, the Type 93. Torpedoes were the only weapon that gave small warships, such as destroyers, the potential to cripple or sink battleships. The Type 93 had a maximum range of 40 km (21.6 nmi; 24.9 mi) at 38 knots (70 km/h; 44 mph) with a 490 kg (1,080 lb) high explosive warhead. Its long range, high speed, and heavy warheads provided a formidable punch in surface battles. In the early surface battles of 1942–43, Japanese destroyers and cruisers were able to launch their torpedoes from about 20 km (11 nmi; 12 mi) at the unsuspecting Allied warships attempting to close to gun range.
  9. So why did WG add it? Good BB players, and there are many, have learned to counter DDs... although sometimes they lose the engagement. This skill is expensive and will call for some significant trade offs; and perhaps it won't be used by the good BB players at all. On the other hand bad BB players will flock to it... no need to learn and understand how to counter DDs. This is where most of them will stay... ignorant and unskilled. That isn't good.
  10. True, I will probably spend more time playing other games. ;)
  11. Seriously? Before German BB, they said that the number of BB players was right on the edge. Since then, they have done nothing to adjust that. If this is their attempt at balancing, then they are fools.
  12. I haven't used the PT server before, but I will this time. I have already created an account and downloaded WOWS_PublicTest. Personally, I don't think anything that has gotten this far through development and testing is going to be changed, unless it is bugged. But, i will give it a try.

German destroyers: where are the histories

In 1913, the Imperial German Navy placed orders for 12 high-seas torpedo boats, with a half-flotilla of six ordered from AG Vulcan (V25–V30) and Schichau-Werke (S31–S36). S35 took part in the Battle of the Gulf of Riga in August 1915. On 19 August, the torpedo boat S31 was sunk by a mine west of Ruhnu, and boats from S35 and V184 helped to rescue S31's crew. S35, as part of the 9th Torpedo Boat Flotilla, took part in the Bombardment of Yarmouth and Lowestoft on 24–25 April 1916, where she formed part of the escort for the battlecruisers of the I Scouting Group. At the Battle of Jutland on 31 May–1 June 1916, S35 was part of the 18th Half-Flotilla, 9th Torpedo Boat Flotilla, again operating in support of the I Scouting Group. The 9th Flotilla, including S35, took part in a torpedo attack on British battlecruisers from about 17:26 CET (16:26 GMT). The attack was disrupted by British destroyers, with the German torpedo boat V29 hit by a torpedo from the British destroyer Petard. S35, along with V26 rescued V29's crew before V29 sank. V27 was disabled by British shells in this clash and was scuttled by gunfire from V26. On the British side, the destroyer Nomad was disabled by a hit in the engine room and later sunk. Later during the day, at about 19:00 CET, the 9th Flotilla attempted another torpedo attack against British battlecruisers, which was curtailed by poor visibility and an attack by British destroyers. From about 20:15 CET (19:15 GMT), S35 took part in a large-scale torpedo attack by the 6th and 9th Torpedo Boat Flotillas on the British fleet in order to cover the outnumbered German battleships' turn to west. The German torpedo boats came under heavy fire from British battleships, and while S35 fired two torpedoes at the British line, she was hit by two heavy shells, probably from a salvo fired by the battleship Iron Duke's main armament. S35 broke in two and sank killing all 88 of her crew along with the survivors from V29 who were aboard. None of the torpedoes fired by the Germans found their targets, although several narrowly missed British battleships, forcing them to take avoiding action.

Give Scharnhorst the Cruiser accuracy or alpha it deserves.

Is it time to remove capping from the game?

I don't know. In standard battles it is sometimes hard to get some BBs to move towards any objective. With no caps to attack or defend?

Removal of invisifire and premium ships

If that is the case, then I am rooting for you to win that lottery!

Removal of invisifire and premium ships

That will be the day. I am not sure at this point WG can do that. BBs have been turned into (something) and it has drawn a particular type of player. These players what easy mode and aren't really interesting in trying or learning... they just might quit. Note: lots of BB player are very good players.

    CVs please use fighters!

    1. Very good CV players can do lots of damage and sink lots of ships; and more than make up for lack of fighters. (for the team) 2. Most CV players aren't very good, but fighters don't directly help them: they can't cap or deal damage that counts (experience). 3. There isn't an incentive for them to use fighters.
  20. Well, I bet if you nerfed BBs hard... a lot of those who claim the play them because they are "Iconic", would run away from them like little girls. I believe (based on no facts) it is the current BB play style most seek.
