stupid question time, ( as i don't know, anyone better, than me to ask them.
Sybeck replied to twicku's topic in General Discussion
I move them to the next new ship in their class and retrain them. If I want to keep a particularly good ship that I enjoyed or it is a tier 6-7 that I will want to play in ranked matches then I train/pay for a new commander with three bonus skills and grind it quickly to get the tier 4 skill. -
"modelling a ship can take anything from 3 to 7 months " & Where are the "Ultra" graphics?
Sybeck replied to Blakeson's topic in General Discussion
Their texture files seem to be 4096 x 4096 These would be textures and not animations bar the damage and to be fair WG would be reusing stock textures and animations of them. ^THIS Collision/physics model have to be researched and tested and then game balance tested and then it gets passed to marketing and much stroking of beards at meetings. -
WG please be more generous to the players, you are loosing them!

YES! Win or lose try to have fun and learn. There are bad ships, but enjoy the challenge of getting the best out of them. There can be terrible MMs so think out the best strategy for overcoming it. There is occasionally very toxic chat so just feel pity for someone who's that invested in pixel gameplay that it's taken over their mind to such a degree. The economy at tier 8+ is hard to swallow so play those ships you enjoyed most on the way up and make credits in an enjoyable way; there is no guarantee you will have more enjoyable ships or matches at tier 8 and beyond. tl;dr Chill -
Change the game don't change the ship. If you nerf DDs then that will most probably lead to imbalance complications in normal battles. It's not the DDs fault it brings a natural advantage to this kind of game mode.

Culture of communication. Thanks and complaints
Sybeck replied to Userext's topic in General Discussion
FIFY! Seriously though. The important thing about "news" is that it is "new". If a newspaper took days to report what happened yesterday its only use is for wrapping fish and chips in. If a news release comes to you in English WGEU then sure proof read it and edit it for spelling, grammar and sense, but at least put that version out immediately. I would guess that at least 80% of the EU playerbase has some English reading skill and that 100% of the playerbase knows somebody who has very good English reading skill. Then push out the other language versions when you finally get round to translating them. By which time my guess would be that everybody would know already from the English release. -
/me sighs Another piece of excellent communication. Announcements from WGEU are like Easter eggs ingame, found by accident or posted on the internet by other players who accidently found them.

I shouldn't worry he's clearly a sockpuppet, joined after links were deleted and has no battles recorded.
-
Well there's still a post up linking the videos and to confound the sin it's a guy who has uploaded the mod to the net for distribution. The guy maybe a sockpuppet for the original mod author, but I reported it hours ago yet it's still there.
-
Why are people posting new links to this piece of crap when the mods have already deleted previous links and warned players not to use it? And yeah, I've reported the guy who posted links. And the guy happens to be the same one uploading the mod and video for distribution - banhammer please.
-
Why do you assume 0.1%? What are you basing that on? If I plucked 25% out of the air would it be any less credible than 0.1%? I'm not attacking your proposition; just interested why you took 0.1% as an example. P.S. You forgot to add that there is a 48% chance that when your proposed 1/400 chance occurs that the aforementioned player would also be on your side and presumably of no threat.

There is another issue not being considered by those "I can aim already this mod doesn't bother/affect me" crowd is that presumably at the moment in most battles they are being missed by a lot of salvoes fired by noobs or people who can't aim. So it's quite possible now that they could start incurring significantly more damage and winding up dead a lot sooner than they usually did or that their base skills would normally dictate. So this mod is a game changer for everybody whether you can't hit a barn door with banjo from 10 feet or whether you can hit a fly out of the air from 30 yards.
-
Is it weird that only a Westerner would say this crap?

Ishizuchi and Tirpitz, both BBs. I miss your icons, best ingame.

+1
-
Well evidently someone does use it and one could suspect that more than one has used it and that more than a few will now use it given that the news is out there. Can you not put out a notice saying that this mod is illegal, will be countered and that players using it will/might suffer retrospective action such as a stat wipe if found to have used it. Give people fair warning before it becomes widespread.
-
Now we just need a mod that will randomly alter course and speed and we will be back to where we started.
-
Would have to agree with him nearly 100%. Have a +1 for finding and posting.

So I have just got an email from WG (EU) - well an hour ago to be fair - informing me that their World of Warships game is now released and that I can enjoy X3 XP. Something which I knew over 24 hrs ago and lamented, along with many others, because that's all there was to it. Seriously, who is running this show? This person(s) need to be fired. They're responsible for one of the most lacklustre launches ever, devoid of rewards, gifts, advertising or promotions and then telling their beta playerbase that it has been released 24+ hrs after release. This kind of crap would have me fired from my job or at the least seriously reprimanded and warned.
-
Has there been any feedback from a Community Manager or WG on this? Apart from Mr Conway's post yesterday on the newbie special offer that was in fact more expensive than the store?
-
Meh, tried to copy paste email but it says I have exceeded my image quota. Trust me I got one.

for all these WoWs player, which tell their teammates, that they suck...
Sybeck replied to JohnBrannigan's topic in General Discussion
My rule is if it's five minutes into a game and a dead guy is wailing (exception for DDs) then it's own [edited]fault and I'm not going to listen, but these kind of people don't read forums because I think they've never learned to read or write judging by their prose and grammar. So for the OP, just vent and let it go because nothing will change because stupid has been with us as long as the first ape tried to crack nuts open on his own head. -
So the launch day is all seeming very flat, so far, and the offers (if you can call them that) are under-whelming. So if you were head of PR or Promotions for WG what would have been your Launch Day package? Mine would be as follows: 30 Days Premium @50% discount 1 free slot for all + 2 extra for 50% discount x3 First Win for 7 days + 20% bonus to credits for 7 days 1 Free new Premium ship for all (somewhere tier 3-5) + 1 new paid Premium ship (preferably the RN's CV Ark Royal, but that's my preference) Buy the whole bundle and get 14 days extra Premium + 50% off any Premium ship in shop. Many might not agree with my list, but my over riding point is that took me 10 minutes to come up with. WG have had months to think about this and the best they could come up with was 7 days premium and 4 slots with a measly discount. Their offer does nothing to reward people who have participated in CBT/OBT or to entice new players in to the game.

What would have been your "Launch Day" offers?
Sybeck replied to Sybeck's topic in General Discussion
I'm trying to get my head around WG's regional operations. I understand why they have regional pricing structures targeted to maximise their income from differing regions, but why are other regions running promotions and pushing out information while WG(EU) offers nothing special and has been quiet all day? Are the regional operations franchises of WG? So less promotion and work by the EU office means more profit for WG(EU)? Looking back over my time playing WoWS since OBT it's always seems to be the other regions where information first occurs and then gets passed on to EU players by bi-lingual players. -
Oops, they screwed that up then.

St Louis Omaha Cleveland Minekaze New Mexico and probably the Fuso (when I get it)
