WTF with this german BB line? No pocket battleships and probably no historical Gneisenau/Scharnhorst?

I think we need as much German BB "whine threads" as possible. Preferably they should dominate the entire board. -

I don't think they will, since the ship will not have the manouvrability to be played like a cruiser, as well as it will lack the cruiser consumables, so playing the ship as a quasi cruiser is not going to be a competitive option. What is going to happen is that those are going to be like the junk stock guns you play until you get the upgrade, which mean de facto no historical Gneisenau in the game. -
Where are they? I see comments on the North American forum that they are already playing the new season. Where are those battles?
-
Wrong, you will get them once you play at least one ranked battle. And it says that only tier X ships can play this time. So you need to have at least one tier X ship in order to play a ranked battle in order to unlocked the rewards granted to you from the first season.

It says that you can only use X tier ships in the next ranked battles.

No week 5 missions? -
What has been added to the game some time ago is a perk to BB guns accuracy when they fire at ranges below 3km, since the spreads were VASTLY unrealistic and they just looked ridiculous. What I noticed is that I seem not to be getting the benefit of the perk while trying to target enemy turrets instead of the waterline and I get vastly unrealistic inaccuracy in my cannons. May it be that when I target above the waterline into the turrets I am negating the 3km accuracy perk, because I am actually elevating the cannons to hit water further than 3km away? If that is the case, then for realism purposes, and for skill intensity of the game, the accuracy buff should trigger any time you simply have a target less than 3km away and you are shooting at him, regardless if you are targeting the waterline or the superstructure or turrets.

Turret destruction is VERY lenient compared to vulnerability of turrets in real battles. If turret destruction was realistic, you would lose at least one turret every single battle before you die.
-
The problem would begin with ships like St. Louis having 15 turrets. Listing more than 5 turrets in the main description could be tricky.

What are the differences between the hulls of Mogami B and Mogami C regarding their liberty of gun rotation? Is there a difference?
-
Nice to know would be a breakdown of how hull upgrades affect gun arcs. Even nicer would be if the gun arcs were displayed in the port as a property of the guns. You could then have an easy comparison in port between ships.
-
Hipper C is the new hull. It has powerful AA but very constricted turret rotation.
-
I have A and C hulls, never bothered to buy the B hull, I just researched it, but skipped buying it.
-
Costs 1 400 000 credits to test it. I thought it would be cheaper to ask.
-
But it has to expose broadside to fire all 4 turrets, which in conjunction with its rather weak armor makes the ship food in case of any duel against an enemy CA. My question is, that since Mogami C has rather weak gun arcs, are those gun arcs better on Mogami B?
-
It makes changes to the layout of AA turrets. My question is what is its effect on the scope of gun rotations? Similarly to the Hipper A, B, C have different layouts of AA allowing the turrets to rotate at different angles, that is why the Hipper B hull is rather superior to Hipper C, because of the degree of rotation of turrets, with Hipper C you have to almost expose the entire broadside to fire all 4 turrets.
-
The gun rotation arc change was the most powerful buff. Now you can use all 3 turrets while keeping a reasonable angle.

It appeals to me, it saves you not only credits, but adds XP allowing you to build up captains faster. Especially that if players play non-premium account, they will rarely progress beyond tier VIII or IX due to the high repair costs. They rather "park" on that tier as the last tier that still makes money for them - and as such they are likely to consider keeping such ships ad infinitum. It won't appeal to me on the CV, as I don't use camo on CV's due to it's highly marginal benefit. And it won't appeal to me on Izumo as I will most likely free XP over that ship straight to Yamato.
-
Well, too bad. Though it is rather advisable to bring the upper tier ship to a ranked battle. If ships up to tier 7 are allowed, that means you should have tier 7 if you wish to have a significant impact on the battle. Too bad for my molotov. PS there simply are no tier 7 ships that I really like.
-
Well Random battles are full of noobs, so the bar to be an asset to the team is not so high, but if you are doing well without CE, just wait and see what you can do once you have it. I wouldn't use that ship without CE in a ranked battle though, especially in the next season where pretty much all experienced players will have captains with 15 points skills to boast, and you will be fighting against kutuzovs and atagos.
-
Not fine enough. You need to get that level 15 captain in order to take full advantage of that ship. Its not only the torps, this ship has a vulnerable citadel if you choose to fire all 5 turrets, so initiating salvos from invisibility at enemies you can spot before they can spot you is very useful.
-
The premium camo saves you 23000-28500 credits per game, so you are credit wise ahead after you played something around 170-180 games with mogami. But that isn't everything, as the premium camo gives you +50% XP allowing your captain to grow faster. In the beginning it also allows you to retrain your captain faster as well as to research the modules faster. If you don't have a level 15 captain, premium camo is a must have as it will boost your progress towards the necessary skill.
-
so they will exclude tier VIII ships from this season? My favorite ships will not take part.
-
Any news regarding the long overdue new season of ranked battles?
-
Mogami requires two things to be a highly profitable ship 1. the premium camo, not only for the reduction -5% of repair costs, but also for the free combo camo which saves you 22500 credits per game. 2. This ship is a severe underdog unless you put a 15 point captain with concealment expert on it. Now you can even invisifire, though rarely. Main point is you can now invisitorp with your 16 torp salvo against the incoming enemy fleet. This creates devastating damage, or at least will force the enemy fleet to a stop. Mogamis torpedoes are fast, not highly visible and do a lot of damage, that is why torpedo souping with mogami is much more efective than with i.e. fubuki.
