    Sure being able to turn fast is a plus, but when your armor doesn't matter at all unless you are bow on then it is pointless to turn as you'll get wrecked if you do. Have you seen the armor value of the New Orleans? It has very weak armor, on the top of the front citadel under the guns it only have 13mm armor while the rest of the citadel top has 57mm, and the underwater citadel armor under the main belt is only 19mm and it should be 25mm like the rest of the hull is, like it is seen on the Baltimore and Des Moines. And then there is the debate about the the front gun citadel as it is to high up in the in game model while the real New Orleans hull drawings shows it should be flush or under water like the rear turret is, look at the Baltimore's armor model, the New Orleans should have something similar to that. And all the light blue armor you can see around the citadel is the cancer that is ruining the New Orleans gameplay. So it is not without reason the New Orleans is under performing the way it is.

    According to a Wargaming rep on Reddit Wows devs. are going to be updating the New Orleans armor model for a upcoming patch.

    I read the whole Reddit thread and at the bottom the Wargaming rep, said he as been in contact with St. Petersburg, so this very good news for us as they'll finally update her, hopefully the NO will be able to be as tanky as it used to be some months ago.
  5. The New Orleans armor post i made earlier then i found a Reddit thread about it where a Wargaming rep got conformation that the New Orleans had issues and they would fix them.

    Sound good enjoy. I did some more searching and turns out WG made the wrong armor model for the New Orleans, the real armor is like the Baltimore amour, also the turret amour is much weak than in real life. Look at this Reddit thread about it: So safe to safe we can demand a remodel of the armor model, as the New Orleans would be the strongest tier 8 cruiser if they change the armor model. Just have a look at the real armor model, it would be a freaking tank with the underwater front citadel. * Check the Indianapolis and Baltimore armor, it is would be similar to what the New Orleans would/should have.

    Leo feel free to log in and check the armor yourself, i doubt it will be any different, i sent WG a bug ticket, but they had to have know about this issue. WG devs. should not drink so much vodka in the work hours...
  8. Hey guys i wondering do WG plan to change the faulty armor on the New Orleans anytime soon ? The New Orleans underwater citadel is 19mm and the citadel top under the front guns is only 13mm while the rest of the top is 57mm, which is why the New Orleans just gets nuked by BB's.

    I also really like the New Orleans, after i unlocked the higher tiers and now just play it for fun. Really enjoy the AP as it scores citadels very well, the HE and shell grouping is very good too. My only issue with the New Orleans is the ships faulty armor, WG messed the ship up big time, as the NO have 25mm hull armor, but the underwater citadel is only 19mm and the belt is 100mm+ and the bottom is 40mm, and the armor on top of the front gun citadels have ONLY have 13mm armor while the rest of the citadel top have 57mm. Have a look at the shitty armor that is ruining the ship, all the light blue on the citadel is cancer. So WG should fix this armor issue ASAP and then buff the gun reload to 4,6 rounds and then the New Orleans is on the fast track to be the best tier 8 cruiser.

    Baltimore - Reload or range?

    I found i play best with the range module, as the stock 15,8 km gets you into world of hurt, but if you go for the range module then you can skip the ship's range upgrade as it has 16,9 km range without it and 18,4 km with it, and the Baltimore guns are useless over 16,5'ish km so you just can save the money on range upgrade. Also the reload module is no good on the Baltimore as you need to the range to operate well, unless you adapt a pop shoot stealth strategy, but you won't be any use to for your team if you do that as you can't fire at the targets.

    Hmm i really can't see why you think Kamikaze R have been nerfed, i think it is perfect as it is now, just had a great game getting the most out of the Dragon flag with a nice Kraken with 159K damage and 16K commander XP is awesome. I actually like these guns as they are easy to land hits with and have a high firechance

    Another attempt at US cruiser revamp

    The Baltimore would fine at tier 9 if she got some much needed buffs, like improved RoF of 4,6 is a joke versus the Roon's RoF of 6, and considering the Baltimore doesn't have torps the RoF should be around 5,5, and the second buff would have to be the turret armor especially the rear of the turrets as it is very weakly armored, and lastly some flatter gun arcs and more muzzle velocity, but if the Baltimore got some similar buff she would be able to be the ship she needs to be at tier 9. Also i would rather have the ability to mount the AP Mk19 (4600 dmg) shell in the upgraded 13 sec reload turrets as the AP Mk21 (5000 dmg) shell velocity and arc is so bad. Hopefully the Balmer gets some goodies in a upcoming patch like they mentioned she would, she got the premium camo last patch, but thats just a copy of the Cleveland's camo and not what the ship needs. - - - And the Baltimore's armor is to strong for tier 8, as the Baltimore got better armor than the Des Moines have, as the citadel is much lower in the ship.
  13. I saw on the NA forum that they listed the "Manners Maketh Man" as solved, you need to play 10 battles in a raw without having done any team damage including ramming ect.     Suggestion for perma gold camo

    The premium destroyer Anshan's camo gives +50% XP and +100% Free XP making it earn a ton of free XP. So a option to pick what extra abilities your camo can have would be a nice option.

    Bayern the beast - The best T6 BB?

    Already knew and like this advantage of the German BB's, i'm already building up my secondary setup for my BB captain as tier 7 and up gets very good secondary guns. Yea it sucks, but the Gnesenau is worse as it only fires 6 shells into the air, but it feels just as tanky as the Bayern did, but it just has a huge speed advantage. Btw if you play the Bayern like a short range 10 km brawler it is perfectly fine and the secondaries and pretty good on it, but they only get better on tier 7 and up as the secondaries guns get HE shells so everything in range gets set on fire, but at 17 km it is just spray and pray like you said, so just play it aggressively and push up the flanks as the ship can take a huge amount of punishment, just watch out for the deadly torps xD

    Bayern the beast - The best T6 BB?

    Bayern not OP be any means, sure in one versus one BB duel she'll come out on top, but factor in the strange supertanky amour that can bounce all shells at times and yet it still take the huge 9K hits (wrong angle? bow/stern weaker? even the Bismark has this amour issue.) And then there is the torpedo belt oh well there isn't any, and stock hull AA is bad, so CV's can easily off you. But if by chance there isn't any CV's and DD's then the Bayern is OP but only then. Has anyone been citadeled in the Bayern yet, is it even possible? The high tier ships can't be citadeled by the Yamato at pointblank range.

    Baltimore - upgrades help

    You didn't, i just wanted to share my tactics and views on it ; ) Also the range vs reload is also something i have to revisit again, as i didn't have concealment expert back then, so i had to be at 17.1 km to stealth fire which made it challenging, but 15,8+ km should be much better. And i seem to get set on fire alot, so for me damage control is best, but interesting to see the differences in loadouts.

    Hmm yea true anything over 15,8 km you stealth fire at when you have concealment expert, but that is IF you can hit them reliably enough to make it work, as the shells seems to take forever to reach the target, which is why i go fed up with it and choose a more active hit and run tactic as you can deal alot of damage by taking CA or BB's by surprise. But i think the tactic i use is better suited for the Des Moines, because of it's autoloader guns. But hey it works - as long you only show the bow of the ship. 40 planes = 1 ship kill, damn... well that's at good reason to go for a more ship killing focused setup, besides the stock AA on the Baltimore is enough to keep it safe from AA treats.

    I disagree with that being the go to set up, IMO Vigilance is more important than Superintended as you go up against Shima's, just use premium consumables for the repair party consumable. And the range upgrade sounds good at first - but it is utter junk as the Baltimore's gun arcs are crapat anything over 16,5 km, you are better off with the reload mod or AA effectiveness mod. and sneaking up on people, BTW the Baltimore's AP shells is very good. Also it is super rare the rudder gets knocked out, while fires and flooding are a much bigger issue, so i would even pick the damage control mod. 1 and 2 over the rudder improvements, as 7,8 sec rudder shift is already great for a big cruiser. BTW. remember to replace your fighter/spotter plane with the new radar consumable, it'll give a big edge when dealing with DD's.

    Well i think they might need to work on the ship model, as in the video MrFingers posted earlier today, which the WG staff already removed, it showed water instead of the ship model every time the guy playing zoomed in, so it could be why it is delayed so much, but that's just my idea. But we'll see, Jingles also mentioned in his Video today that his review video of HMS Campbeltown was ready, so it is just WG taking their sweet time with the last details.

    Just had a look at it in game with the extended techtree mod and it shows that it cost 1650 gold. Btw. don't you think this ship will be sold as a regular one time special sort of like the Anshan and Blyskawica did?

    I have send in a few tech./bug related reports and WG's support is fast and useful, it is not just a automated respons, they actually care about your issues and try to come up with fixes for it. So WG is better than alot of other gaming companies. But their markedting department needs to be more up front, but at least we do get a few developers videos, but more info is always welcome. I'm very excited about it, but it might just be hearing about the history of operation Chariot and the impossible odds against the British Commandos who carried out the mission. Jeremy Clarkson did an interesting video documentary about it, enjoy. And yes of cause HMS Belfast would be cool to, as it is anchored in the river in London.

    Said this in the other thread for it, but it be awesome if WG gave the Campbeltown a premium camo with the 'Hotel Yankee' ramming bonus just be historical correct, as the destroyer was used by the Brits to ram a German drydock gate in France, so why not make it able to ram BB's as well.
