Discussion thread for "some interesting info around the world"
Tyrendian89 replied to Deamon93's topic in General Discussion
don't think we know yet... I'm not even sure it'd be entirely too weak for T10... I mean, look at what the Jean Bart can do with its Reload Booster, and this has 50% more firepower than that (albeit with a bit worse accuracy and base reload), that is pretty scary capacity for punishing mistakes... survivability would probably need a significant boost though, seeing as Republique is probably already worst-in-tier by far in that regard and this even has a good chunk less HP... -
Discussion thread for "some interesting info around the world"

RIP cruisers except those that know they can just bowtank it for all of eternity you mean... I always found the french 15"ers better at doing hilarious numbers of normal pens and the occasional citadel to enemy BBs than they were at deleting cruisers tbh... But yeah, is it just me or is that a hilariously sad admission of complete incompetence by the WG balancing team? They're essentially putting a pre-nerf Alsace with minimal buffs and one extra consumable at T10... which is usually a massive step above T9... -
then what is your point? I havent found any yet...
-
depends on who you ask, but... generally anyone in my games that isnt doing what I want them do be doing right now?
-
and what exactly makes you think they have not discussed that? it's money to be made, of course they're gonna discuss is - just doesnt mean they have to implement it right away...

This is your recent stats. Not completely horrible for an NC, but also not nearly average (you "should be" doing around 25% more damage than you are for example). You're definitely improving over time, which is very good to see... it's just that you should give yourself more time fo that improvement to catch up to your progress on the USN BB line. Hence the suggestion to play a few other lines first, especially something other than BBs. That'll give you a fresh perspective - nothing like seeing the game from the other guy's perspective to make you able to predict what he might do next!

the Iowa is a very solid ship if played right, but not the easiest of BBs. So, honest word of advice? Go play some other ships first, not just USN Battleships. Learn something about the game before you go to T9. Ask for advice or explanations on the forums and you'll get it. You're already waaaaay out of your depth in your NC and even Colorado. Right now, you're a straight up massive burden to any high tier team you're on. You'll enjoy the game a lot more if you know what you're doing and are actually able to get good results, and so will your teammates.

T10 battles minimum 53% winrate
Tyrendian89 replied to chorltonandthewheelies's topic in General Discussion
plenty of stupid in here that others have already pointed out, let me just add one thing. How much of the playerbase do you think has 53% winrate and up? Just based on how statistics in general and Wargaming stats in particular work, I'd bet on 30% at most. So you want Wargaming to kick a good two thirds of their playerbase out of the tier where Premium Time and Premium Camo is the most needed, and thus a good chunk of money is spent? How dumb do you think they are? -
I tried for early T-61 access - and I failed
Tyrendian89 replied to Procrastes's topic in General Discussion
honestly, they've helped people out in this matter that were quite a bit more silly than you, and not nearly as honest about it... might be worth a try at least, especially considering you'd only be getting half the early access benefit now anyway @MrConway @Crysantos what say you lovely red folk?- 27 replies

recently, I'm also getting crazy amounts of "Ghost shells" when firing close to an island - as in, they (in theory) hit the island, but continue unmolested on their merry way towards the target (and go right through said target of course, just like these Ghost torps will).

that whole "just spam Moskvas and win" idea is as old as CBs themselves - that's been claimed to work ever since before season one. And I think on NA Moskvas actually did somewhat dominate the first season. Over here? Not so much, the top clans figured out how to counter it rather quickly. Current flavour-of-the-cheese is the occasional 3xMino 3xWorcester or some variation thereof. Do these setups work? Yes, obviously, against some opponents. Are they unbeatable? Not as long as you have a brain and use it... Are they a good pick for top clans? Depends... they've viable, and until people get used to them they'll probably give you a good winrate (since MM will always throw a decent spread of skill levels at you). But that's about it... Are they a good pick for good-but-not-top clans? Probably, since the chances that your opposition will figure out the necessary counters are lower...

frustrating as it may be, for now it's mostly just a matter of low sample size. You just haven't played enough games at T10 to be immune to the occasional uncarriable team of vegetables that we all end up with every so often - two or three fewer of those and your winrate would look as purple as the rest of you. That said, if you don't feel like playing T10, just take a break from it. Go Navy points arent exactly super valuable anyway (woohoo you might get an extra container with 450 Coal! ... is that really worth your sanity?^^), and the Legendary Modules are a) mostly not all that great anyway and b) not going anywhere so you can just continue grinding them later. Looks like you have quiet a few lines left to grind, why not give some of those a go and refresh yourself with a few days/weeks of mid-tier gameplay?
-
is what you're describing (fewer clans in the top leagues/harder to get there) happening? In my experience, yes. Is that a problem? I don't know, something for WG to decide (they know how they want their leagues to be structured I suppose) and fix if deemed necessary..-

except this event isn't about the "best" players making the most points, it's about the most active ones. not (always) the same thing...
-
you were assuming that a) a majority of the playerbase plays the game religiously enough to get full loyalty to one team at the earliest possible date and b) a majority of the playerbase pays enough attention to even realize it would now make sense to switch teams? see the flaws?

well, if you dont want to accept the simple answer, just keep raging at the universe... I'm sure that'll help
-
the answer lies in extremely simple maths, to be more precise: sample size. With three more wins over those 28 games, you'd have a flat 50% winrate. Dont look at winrate until you have a lot more games to actually make it matter.

Rightful Heir to the Cleveland in Operations?
Tyrendian89 replied to Lord0's topic in General Discussion
Leander (or possibly Perth if you want to be cheeky), Budyonny and LaGal/DeGrasse are all solid picks I'd say... none are quite like the Cleveland, but they all have their own strengths to compensate. -
there is this very Kraken-esque Alabananananana that one very occasionally encounters though...

T-61, what time today (Friday 10th) will it be credited?
Tyrendian89 replied to BeauNidl3's topic in General Discussion
offtopic, but I cant help myself... Because they got elected President of the United States? -
that is something you can ask the balancing team about, not shout mindlessly at the STs...
-
whelp... and then you remember the sad fact that a vast portion of the playerbase takes his every word as gospel, and you'll stop laughing right quick...

I wonder whether this post has anything to do with this, two days ago on flamu's stream... https://clips.twitch.tv/KindStupidDootDogFace

In my opinion, on the Des Moines that is really a question of your personal frustration tolerance... As in, how annoyed do you get when the average T10 game is so campy that you regularly dont have anything in range for minutes at a time but at the same time can't push forward because you'd just get blapped? If you are happy to deal with that, then take reload and enjoy the extra firepower when you need it most. But for me, I prefer to be able to choose between more targets and positions - plus which, with a bit of practice, hitting BBs or stationary/slow-moving cruisers at long range isnt actually all that impossible. Matter of preference, really - you should probably just try both...
