nonsense. But, a well played T8 can certainly be as dangerous to a T10 as a poorly played T10 can...

Haida v. Gadjah Mada - who will win?
Tyrendian89 replied to Procrastes's topic in General Discussion
judging by its comments, just about any thread on these forums seems to hurt or impact Pete in some indiscernible way... at least he leaves a snarky, useless one-liner in most of them...- 35 replies

no it isnt. Warspite secondaries themselves are pretty good, that's true, but a "secondary build" itself doesnt do much since the benefits of Manual Secondaries on a T6 are marginal at best - I'd even argue that it's an active detriment because it prevents your secondaries from firing on both sides or when you forget to lock a target.
-
Manual Secondaries is worthless at T6 RL is... pretty useless on a BB most of the time AFT is neat because you have decent secondaries and acceptable AA for the tier, but again since you're not T7 the secondaries are not going to do all that much Manual AA... have you even looked at the values? Fire Prevention would be an option as well But with Concealment Expert, the Grand Old Lady actually becomes pretty scarily stealthy. So I'd always go for that first.

sounds like you should probably educate yourself a bit about the detection mechanics...

to slightly modify a "joke" a friend of mine keeps making... The "C" in Wargaming stands for "Competence", right?

did I miss something, or did they tell us pretty much everything except how to get Guineas?

Emden like gameplay at higher tiers
Tyrendian89 replied to CircleOfSorrow's topic in General Discussion
that, pretty much. And if you ever decide to "become serious" about warships to the point where you want a reasonably high tier premium, the Atlanta's one hell of a rapid fire catapult -
Final best-of-the-best-looking-ship poll
Tyrendian89 replied to loppantorkel's topic in General Discussion
you might have more of a point if you werent making everything look so butt ugly with that stupid fog remover mod -
by all means leave the capping to them, but you're really really good at supporting them - stay just the right distance behind an allied DD that he'll get spotted (and thus also spot the enemy DDs) a few hundred meters before you would get spotted yourself (2-3km behind is a decent benchmark, varying with your build and the DD you're following ofc), and proceed to murderize the opposing DD while probably not taking all that much return fire (since the enemies will have someone else to shoot at first ). Oh, and yes you're correct - getting one of those "flanking" DDs in your team, or only other RU gunboat DDs for that matter, can be annoying
-
if you get outgunned by anything that isnt a Grozo/Khaba (or maybe Tashkent because of the heal) in your Udalol, then you're doing something horribly wrong... i.e. you're fighting them on their terms, in a close in knife fight, and not on yours, kiting and using your vastly superior ballistics to shred them. Udaloi isn't a traditional DD - so stop trying to use it as such. Play the poor ship to its strengths, like you should with any other...

wait... someone actually looked for (and found) the answer using the search function instead of opening a new thread? HOLY CARP! That's definitely a first!!!

How to angle musashi/yama vs other yama?
Tyrendian89 replied to thiextar's topic in General Discussion
best way for you would probably be to take your Yamato/Musashi and go into a training room against stationary bot Yamatos - that way you can see in practice how things work out from all the angles and distances you can dream of, which is going to stick with you a lot more than a few words or a crude drawing you get on here. Not only helps you find out what angle is the hardest to deal with, but at the same time teaches you where to shoot him back for best results -
awwww too bad... but thanks for the insight!

been silently hoping for a Dido class (or, hell, any Atlanta-style boat in general but Didos seemed the most likely candidate, especially with DeGrasse out the window) for a while... gib! @Crysantos @MrConway any chance you can shed some light on how WoWs Blitz and normal WoWs are related development wise? Is there any point in taking this as an indication at all? Or are we getting hyped for nothing

and yet you assume that "11 other guys" would have "their fun ruined" by recognizing his mistakes in the first place? logic fail much?

AFT or manual Captain skills on Minotaur and Wooster?
Tyrendian89 replied to OldschoolGaming_YouTube's topic in General Discussion
Neptune, Gneisenau/Tirpitz and Zao (well, and DDs with DefAA/Akizuki line, if you want to spec into it...) are probably the ships that get the most out of MAA, at least the ones I can think of off the top of my head -
AFT or manual Captain skills on Minotaur and Wooster?
Tyrendian89 replied to OldschoolGaming_YouTube's topic in General Discussion
one small thing that makes Manual AA relatively convenient on both is that with full concealment spec and just the AA range module but no AFT, their max AA range equals their air spotting range of 7.2km - which eliminates the need to remember to toggle your AA off and on when you dont want it to get you detected at 8.6km... -
Best looking ship in the game - which is it?
Tyrendian89 replied to loppantorkel's topic in General Discussion
I'd have to go with Roma, at least the normal camo, without the idiotic can of coke on top honourable mentions to Scharnhorst, Republique (with perma camo), and Cleveland (just for the classic value) -
uh... no it doesnt (at least on my end). It starts at 0% again, yes, but that is 0% of the remaining data. Pay attention to the actual amount of data that is left to download right before you pause - that should be the total amount shown when you restart. So for example, if you pause at 6GB/11GB, it should resume at 0GB/5GB. Unless something on your end is weird/different, which is always possible I guess, and in that case you'd definitely have a point with your suggestion

Kitakami? pls gib?
-
...you do realize you can just pause the updates...

uh... yes... most of those? Lion isnt made up - iirc she was actually laid down but cancelled. And Conqueror is at least relatively closely based on existing designs too. Plus, it's only a boring HE spammer if you decide to play it that way - i.e. are too lazy to make use of its concealment. Mogami with the 155s is excellent, if a bit squishy, and Zao is soooooo worth any pain Ibuki might give you. Murderously good assassin of a ship. Again, only a boring HE spammer if you choose to be. US CLs: matter of taste I suppose... but life in them is often rather short and exciting, not boring Moskva, made out of a tincan? Staliniumcan is where it's at! Not everyone's taste, but hella strong if played right, especially after the buffs. RN CLs: well, yes, but they do reward you... French CAs: After Algerie is actually where that line stops being boring, now that you get the reload booster to play around with... and Henri IV is a crazy fun ship with its AP and sheer speed. IJN DDs: the torpedo line is a bit meh these days, but oh boy Akizuki &co can be hilariously fun! RU DDs: Two vastly different lines here... Ognevoi is indeed a bit meh, but oh boy the rest are good. Try the Kiev at least, embrace the spoodbeest and dakkadakka away - that should tell you all you need to know about the rest. Torps are totally overrated. American DDs: Fletcher is probably the single best DD tier for tier in the entire game overall (after idiotic premiums like Kamikaze and T61 maybe) German DDs: Deadly AP, quick loading torps, hydro as an additional tool - about as far away from "dull" DDs as you can get... and the Z52 turns that up to 11 with its 6km Hydro. PA DDs: uh... if you want to do that, have fun being totally ineffective... amazing allrounders (except the T8, that one is a bit meh), and Yue Yang is arguably the best torpedoboat at T10
-
complaints about going pink for ramming in a CV? that's new... complaints about going pink for "they sailed into my torps"? that's old, and your fault entirely for launching them in the first place...
-
yes, you can read that on the forums about once every two weeks whenever someone comes here with this exact question ("how can I earn stars for this or that stage?")
