entirely the wrong place - it's not like there wasn't a KOTS Discord, you know... this tournament has very little to do with Wargaming (at least on the organisational side, they do provide a lot of support of course!) but I'll forward it to the organizers regardless...

Discussion thread for "some interesting info around the world"
Tyrendian89 replied to Deamon93's topic in General Discussion
am I missing something? seems to me like this is just a slightly fatter (slower but more HP) Shchors that can single-fire its three 4km torps per side (woooohooooo)... I mean, hooray for a non-gimmicky premium that isnt just flat out better than the tech tree version, but this seems a bit... bland? -
okay. nothing to fix about mm, at least not in the way you seem to want. discussion done... neeeeeext! PS: no, it's not a l2p issue on your end - you're doing fairly well for a relative newcomer. Just take off your tinfoil hat and learn to deal with streaks - they're completely natural, way way more than our intuition tells us. Even within just a sample size of 200 raw coinflips, you've got better than 50% odds of getting a streak of 8 of the same result in a row - and ingame results are further influenced by your own performance, which if nothing else is sure to suffer when you get frustrated.

Radio location - just how approximate a bearing does it give?
Tyrendian89 replied to cracktrackflak's topic in General Discussion
45°, actually (because, you know, the eight sectors sorta have to add up to 360 not 180), but otherwise yes - the arrow changing means the target just switched from one sector to another -

error 404 reference not found, but I think it works (am basing this on vague memories of how I think WG announced it back in the day) by pointing you at the "compass eighth" that your target is in relative to you. As in, divide the compass north/south and east/west to get four quarters, and then cut those in half to give you eight "directions" that it can point into. Combine this with common sense and map knowledge and you can often get very good guesses as to where on the map that closest guy might be. Don't have definite proof, but I've been operating with this assumption successfully so far (including in ClanWars, feel free to laugh at me if it's wrong^^). -
...so, what's the point of this thread if you're just gonna continue whining instead of at least reading the advice you get? about in line with what I'd expect you to score in the context of your other ships (not the winrate, but that's simply a small numbers problem) uh huh, clearly the ship's fault innit? can't possibly have anything to do with low sample size and it being weekend...

yes, and then you have the epically hard task of pressing a single button to get all of that back. Boo hoo hoo. The trick with the Conqueror is playing it in a way that allows you to get the most out of your heal - and that means not getting focused by too many enemies. One or two are zero trouble since they can't kill you before your next heal (unless you mess up and get AP'd of course). Use your concealment to get where you need to be, play the assassin game with your AP. Conqueror can do so much more than just farm damage on enemy BBs.

I'd almost say there's hardly a DP (decently powered) T5 cruiser, simply due to facing Scharnhorsts and Lyons with depressing regularity... Least-shitty would probably be FurryTaco (if you know how to aim those 8"ers and utilize the trolly armour), KBerg for the AP DPM, or Murmansk for a touch of Russian Bias that almost makes the Omaha decent.

Do you feel that you get citidaled easier when turning?
Tyrendian89 replied to howardxu_23's topic in General Discussion
pretty much that. No need for fancy theories, just apply basic logic/physics and combine with a little bit of appreciation for WG actually modelling armour and shells properly to allow things like this to happen :) -
would be nice to see, but I dont think it'd be high on any kind of priority list^^ Also, there's a Suggestions thread pinned at the top that you can throw this into
-
eh, certainly not gonna play this for the rewards... I'll just give it a try with a friend I guess, see whether it#s fun (I doubt it considering the utterly predictable meta of Kami-Grem-GC everywhere and nothing much being able to compete, but who knows) and let that decide how much I play of this. Which is probably what WG intended - not too much incentive for the veterans to play sealclub the ever-living daylight out of this.

maybe not the Gearing, but Fletcher's amazing. I'd at least go for that one.

Main Battery Reload Booster - What's the verdict?

love it on the Henri, can't say I care much about CM and StLou anymore... -
you can't (directly) buy Sovereigns, although the RN containers do contain 15 each. And you can directly buy Guineas to get yourself a Cossack.

and Henri has a lot of other things going for her. If you seriously think she's just a larger Charles, then you havent even begun to explore her potential...

whelp, I hope I'll remember to laugh at you if they do end up changing these at some point... -
havent had any issues with the rudder on Henri that I can recall (very much unlike Charles for example where it did break remarkably often), and I personally think there are better ways to spend the points than IFHE... One of the Honores is very much recommended by the way - Henri makes great use of the improved EM and AR!

I this Possible, citadeled by Hindenburg
Tyrendian89 replied to FurthLover77's topic in General Discussion
no, I'm saying you have very little idea how to play BBs properly. You do abysmal damage in them, and your winrate's down the drain. Realizing that you've got a loooooong way to go until you can even consider yourself average is the first step to getting there. And that's absolutely nothing against you - you're still very new to the game, you just have way too little experience right now. Play a lot more lower tiers, learn how the game works there. -

Tyrendian89 replied to FurthLover77's topic in General Discussion
and way way way out of your depth up there... Right now your NC is a massive burden to any team you're on. I'd suggest you drop down about three tiers and get some more experience by playing a few other lines than just USN BBs. That'll not only give you a lot more time to get familiar with how the game works, but also broaden your perspective by showing you first hand how some of the ships you meet perform. All of which will translate into you performing better, winning more and thus probably also having more fun
