true, but on the other hand, quite a few cruisers rely on their concealment a lot more than any BB ever could - take a Mino, DM or Zao, those often depend on riding their concealment to get into good positions, and a few hundred meters can often make all the difference between getting to where you need to be and dying on the way there. Meanwhile, a BB can just stay back a little further and be almost as effective...

I this Possible, citadeled by Hindenburg
Tyrendian89 replied to FurthLover77's topic in General Discussion
Expert Marksman really is a matter of personal taste to be honest - for me, NC turret traverse is good enough that I dont take it, but opinions differ on that. Definitely not more important than Concealment Expert though... if you really can't live without EM, drop Adrenaline instead. Expert Loader and Incoming Fire Alert are completely wasted in (most) BBs though, especially while AP still nukes DDs. Also, what upgrades are you running? Because those you can switch without spending dubloons... you can just keep our suggestions about the captain in mind until you can respec him. -
argh... gonna have to relearn all of those concealment values, how annoying... not a bad change for gameplay though I'd say, although it'll certainly hurt some ships (read: many cruisers) more than others (read: many BBs)...

Let's do this in reverse - what's the WORST ship for the Ranked Sprints?
Tyrendian89 replied to Tyrendian89's topic in General Discussion
that was sort of what I had in the back of my head - maybe someone would take the result as a challenge hell, if i had a Krispy Kreme I might even try it, but sure as heck not buying the Emerald, there are limits to what I am willing to do to myself...^^ -
havent seen a premium container that I'd personally consider even remotely worthwhile since last christmas, and those were already very very dubious...
-
okay seriously now, I'm curious. How on earth did you end up necro'ing this? Did you really want to throw out that very generic statement of yours somewhere and went out of your way to specifically search for a thread to do it in, but failed to look at the date?

Final Poll: How many UK DD missions did you get?
Tyrendian89 replied to ColonelPete's topic in General Discussion
this would be a lot more interesting if the poll asked which of the missions we got, not just how many - they didnt have to be in any kind of order, but from what I've seen Jervis and especially Lightning were very rare... -
well, we dont have the slightest idea what "specialty" the USN and IJN CVs will end up with either (IJN got AP bombs in the first public version, but who knows whether that'll stay)... so yeah...
-
fair enough, powercreep is definitely a feeling one can get in this kind of game (and something that's really hard to avoid for the devs too, since their jobs depend on us wanting to stay with the game and go for the new stuff - so it's got to be appealing in some way...)
-
ignoring your hyperbole for a minute... yes, USN cruisers can be good with their high rates of fire - if you let them. They are very happy if they can dictate the engagement, use terrain to their advantage etc - but they turn very unhappy very very quickly once you manage to turn the tables on them, which more often than not is just a matter of your own positioning. If you're in a bad position, yeah you're gonna get farmed - if that happens regularly to you, then maybe you should consider not blaming the enemy ships but the guy responsible for your positioning...

maybe, your dreadful survival ration would certainly suggest you're overaggressive. Thing is, if that's true then you certainly do not know the first bit about how to shoot, because your accuracy isnt any better than your survival rate. Face it - you need a looooooooooooot of practice before you'd even be remotely average. And that's fine - you are, as others have said, relatively new. You have a lot of time to learn, if you so choose. But to do that, you first have to accept that you have a lot to learn, and stop thinking things like Having watched a few youtube vids and knowing these things on a theoretical level is vastly different from actually being able to put them into practice. -
...you think they keep every old asset in? Do you have any idea how bloated the game folder would be if they did? And what makes you think the Saving Transylvania operation is the only thing in this patch?
-
don't drink and post? Or, if you're not drunk, I have no idea what you're talking about.
-
dont think it has, but... you'll have to download the patch eventually anyway to play the subs^^

still better than Acasta tho, at least the Jianwei can Stealtorp, and its torps are pretty decent except for the range... -

ooops... I could've sworn I had added that particular bathtub... I'll blame Forum Gremlins! EDIT: Huh... seems to actually have been Forum Gremlins, I had to fiddle around with the poll a bit until it reset its max options counter so I could actually add Bogue... done now tho! -

...and so T3 T6 and T9 are always top tier?... did you, like, even think for half a second before posting that? doesnt look like it...
-
no, you get plenty of help actually. just garnered with a dose of ridicule...

you'd probably be able to get a decent echo going in there... ...there... ...ere... ...re...

and good for us if it really is true, since that'd mean we'd be rid of him at least for a while...

one thing I will say though is that both OM and TWA (dont remember which of the two was which in that match) have a huge advantage over the "average" clan: They (or we, as in top clans) have a lot of first-hand experience with Stalingrad because quite a few of our players actually have it. We can ask our friends what they think, where they'd like to postion it and which spots they hate to be in, we can take the darn thing into training rooms to figure out all of its vulnerabilities if we want to. Meanwhile, what can the average player do to become familiar with the ship and its weaknesses? Get nuked by a Stalin if he ever meets one in a Random and ends up in the same are of the map by pure happenstance? Watch Flamu play it occasionally on Stream? Yeah good luck gaining any worthwhile experience from that... So, whether the ship really is too strong or not, its extreme scarcity poses a huge problem to fairness, which is what tournaments should always strive for in my personal opinion.

Captain Skills - Review then Accept at end.
Tyrendian89 replied to Sybeck's topic in General Discussion
certainly not a bad idea, not like it'd be negative in any way - but to my mind, if you're dumb enough to make that kind of mistake despite all the tools that are around you kinda deserve to pay for it a little... so I wouldnt say this is high priority. Maybe if WG ever get around to doing a full rework of the abysmal port interface as a whole, in fifteen years... -
T1 competitive gogogo?!?!?
