Smoked HE spammers are a good addition to the game.

hey, at least you can make all your shiptoasts nice and crispy with all that fire... -
WG marketing team is getting creative...
Tyrendian89 replied to Tyrendian89's topic in General Discussion
for the record - I did not post this as any kind of "call to arms" or some such, just wanted to share my amusement at the obvious and hilarious mistakes (which I still dont get how they even happened, but that's half the appeal ). With that said, I am reading with great amusement what some people have turned this into... -
Want this OP Russian ship in the game please.

and a hilariously tiny target... this thing would be a bit of a beach to actually kill... not that it'd be able to do much in return, but still -
mainly the rudder shift in my opinion - not sure it needs even more speed (or that that would actually help it much), seems fast enough for its job to me... and probably a few hundred meters of range (not to early-days level but a little bit more so it's not quite as anaemic...) And those maybe one at a time so we dont go straight back to monster times... hehe fair enough

oh boy am I ever glad you're not in charge of balancing if you really think that list of Khaba buffs you posted above is a good idea...
-
one of those maybe, and some of them are really pushing it even on their own. How much more Bussian Rias do we really need?
-
the amount of LOLWAT in these words is too damn high! but yeah the only two times I've touched my Khaba in the last year or so was to grab any per-T10-ship rewards, and that was only in Coop...

I find it incredibly unlikely that something as whacky as that would have gone unnoticed for so long... got any proof (replay plus full screenshots)?
-
genuine question - such as? Asashio because of how hilariously bad she is? Or what are you talking about? This isnt T7 with the Belfast, and even that seemed to be perfectly fine last sprint...

What is this, some joke? Not funny!
Tyrendian89 replied to Bad_Mojo_incoming's topic in General Discussion
yes I guess you should have - then you could have looked at it today and prevented yourself from looking quite silly with this little rant...- 34 replies

Does Detonation Mechanic actually have any Use in this Game aside from annoying People ?
Tyrendian89 replied to Sunleader's topic in General Discussion
...you came here making outlandish claims and hilarious accusations. We do not need to prove you wrong in the slightest. You, on the other hand, would need to produce a lot of evidence if you wanted to be taken seriously... -

hello confirmation bias my old friend I've come to talk with you again... -
Russian Cruisers - Does it get better after the Kirov?
Tyrendian89 replied to SvR1983's topic in General Discussion
for me personally, Budyonny is the highlight of the line... not that the others arent strong, but being a max-range HE spammer like the Shchors isnt all that much fun when you turn worse than most BBs at your tier... and I just hate the Moskva -
I want more NEW MAPS not more boats. balance efforts pls
Tyrendian89 replied to SaltyLord's topic in General Discussion
I'm not sure how much of a problem even that would be, considering everyone would have the option... I for one do kinda want to see a match on New Dawn with 12 Atlantas per side... -

Tyrendian89 replied to SaltyLord's topic in General Discussion
that could actually be interesting, although you probably wouldnt want players being able to straigth up choose the map they want to play on (for multiple reasons, some ships being wildly powerful/unsuitable on certain maps one of them)... but being able to "soft-ban" one or two and "favourite" another one or two when entering the queue (with the understanding that you'll probably have slightly longer wait times)... would that cause significant problems somewhere that I'm missing right now? would even give WG a lot of data on which maps people like and dislike... -
because that totally wouldnt cause an uproar due to massively benefitting BBabies again (well, outside the Teaboo variation that only spams HE ofc...)

pretty much - so that's that. pointless no thanks - unnecessary complications, you dont even want to know what that'd do to the average tuber on your team... any captain that tried that would've been court-martialled for wasting copious amount of ammo, even if it did work (which generally, outside of steep cliffs, it wouldnt... and you really do not want to destabilise any of the mountains that pass for islands ingame, just look up Lituya Bay [minus the naval context obviously, but rockslide is rockslide...] for what that could result in...). So, horsemanure on all counts. this on the other hand I wouldnt actually mind... -

I mean, put enough pressure on carbon (which a turd is made of) and it'll turn into a diamond... I'm just not sure the weight of 30.000 gold coins would provide enough pressure for that to happen, but I'm no physicist... -
for 8x410mm to be even remotely balanced at T6, she needs to be pretty meh in most other regards... and for some reason or another she also goes 26.5kts at a tier where she meets metric tons of USN Standards plus lotsa other Dreadnoughts, almost all of which are a good bit slower. So no, she doesnt need a buff, even if she's not the easiest ship to play/get the most out of.

What are the best DDs for next tactic
Tyrendian89 replied to seXikanac's topic in General Discussion
if you do want to do this in randoms - grab a Clemson and stick with it. You're not gonna get anything better suited for the job further up anyway... 2x3 launchers on both sides, reasonably fast especially for its tier, small target, very good firepower to kill enemy DDs with - and most importantly, you're at T4 so you have "protected matchmaking" including smaller maps (the fact that it's currently more of a shark tank full of Hoshos notwithstanding). -
okay, enlighten us... what do you think they are then?
-
oi, in this context that's an insult to snowflakes... how dare you...

Is there ever a point to using AP over HE as a BB?
Tyrendian89 replied to PanzerThuran's topic in General Discussion
damn, and now I have to decide what's more hilarious... your post, or your account name... gah stop making my life difficult! -
depends on a number of factors obvious - how good is the player? the higher the tier, the more enemy HP there is for you to shoot at, so that'll increase your average Ship classes do quite unequal amounts of average damage - with DDs being bottom of the pile, then cruisers, then BBs, then CVs. You'll note that the reverse of that pile pretty much equals spotting/capping capabilities, so while we do complain about WG balancing the game for BBabies, there's a bit more to it than just raw damage numbers^^ The particular ship in question also plays a large role - not just because some are stronger than others, but also because things like the Smolensk that you mention are very much geared towards farming "cheap" fire damage in large numbers, which then ends up being only partly relevant because it's healable Different ships are good at engaging different targets - if your ship is made to farm enemy BBs (like Smolensk or Conqueror), then that'll result in much larger damage numbers than a DD hunter like Radar Minotaur and the like. And finally, your personal playstyle. Going balls deep all the time doesnt tend to result in consistent large damage numbers, for that it's more about staying alive and picking the right moments to go hell for leather. As for that magical 160k barrier that you're "stuck on" right now - I wouldnt worry too much about that. It took me ages to break 200k, with a few vividly remembered "close misses". But once you do, oh boy does it feel good
