  1. you know, the Spanish thought much the same in 1588... ah, the age-old art of reading... tough sometimes, innit?

not that I disagree, but... so are your threads. All of them, not even bar a few. And yet you're still allowed to post here... go figure.
  3. I expect T5-8 will give coal, while T9/10 will also (or instead?) give Steel

    Should Radio Location be removed?

Indeed. And neither would I argue that Radio Location is without its negative aspects - there are certainly situations where being located "breaks" someone's game (I've certainly hunted down my fair share of DDs that simply couldn't escape because I knew which direction I should be looking for them, and been on the receiving end as well). Overall, I'm just slightly more on the "good" side of the proverbial fence, because I like playing around with information, but there are plenty of valid arguments against it as well. And yes, it's certainly fair to acknowledge that in this case at least, Wargaming did indeed know better than the very vocal part of the community (myself included) that thought Radio Location would be a complete disaster of a skill.

Make Concealment Expert tier 1 or 2 skill

not sure i agree on Fire Prevention "needing" to go up to five points - sure, it'S good, but is it that good? I'd definitely bump IFHE along with CE though^^

    Should Radio Location be removed?

let me play Devil's Advocate for a moment and turn this section around on you. Where's the skill in pure guesswork? Because there's a lot of skill involved in making the most of the imperfect information that RL gives you - similar to Priority Target that you mention above, sure it gives everyone that has the skill the same information, but there are a lot of different things that can be done with that information, some of them a lot more difficult than others. And this extends to all areas of play, from the individual 1v1 engagements to macro level strategic decisionmaking, both for yourself and the team at large. Let me give one example, or two perspectives on one example to be more precise: Radio Location as an enabler of risk-taking. This comes from a lot of experience in top-level competitive play, particularly relevant in Clan Battles where the lack of CV spotting makes the information game a lot more interesting. On an individual level, Radio Location gives me information that I can use to judge risks in committing to a certain push - if I didnt have the information that my RL is pointing towards that ship or area (so I think I know whether I'll be spotted/flanked doing what I'm about to do), there's a good chance that I wouldn't feel comfortable in making a push. But at the same time, there's still a very decent chance that I'm simply misinterpreting the information that I have, through either my own negligence or smart play on the opposing side. So, RL gives information that enables risktaking, but doesn't at all take away said risk completely because it's always imperfect information. And on a macro level, Radio Location again gives the entire team information about what the enemy may be doing (particularly through triangulation), and thus enables strategic decisionmaking. But this information can also be manipulated - you can "simulate" a certain strategy through having a decoy ship "drawing" the enemy RL pointers and leaving them unsure just how heavy a force their RL is actually pointing towards. So, overall, yes Radio Location "magically" provides information, and that can be problematic at times - but that information is always imperfect and open to interpretation and, to an extent, manipulation. So to me, and I'm somewhat surprised to be saying this considering how much I hated the idea when it was introduced, Radio Location creates information in a way that creates more opportunities for skillful play than it removes.

Event ships simply removed without selling the upgrades?!

an I'm sure you've checked your inventory and not magically found these same upgrades appear there?
  8. no use asking Darth, he never does...
  9. so, straight from the Patchnotes... That does sound quite good, but my natural curiosity isnt going to leave me alone until I at least ask... @Crysantos @MrConway any chance you're allowed to tell us a little more about what exactly is being done here? Are you fine folk introducing "Pure T10" battles to take some of the big boys out of the queue for the little guys? (Not sure I expect you to be permitted to answer this, seeing how relatively close WG have kept their Sikrit Matchmaker in the past, but hey might as well try^^)
  10. to be fair, assuming he gets a better voiceover than the standard Pirate one, I'd buy the hell out of that...

Tier 8 MM after the change. Poll included.

quite honestly, I dont think opening a poll on this makes any sense right this second. This wasnt a change that promised "you wont be bottom tier at all anymore" - it'S a gradual change, and as such any answers you give after five or even twenty matches are completely worthless because the sample size is just too small...

    wows listen to players ?

I mean, some of these ships are quite short...
  15. that is one massive upside! If only any other DD could launch such a massive and overpowering wall of torpedoes, all at the same time! ...oh wait...

    wows listen to players ?

reading patchnotes is overrated I suppose... but yeah carry on with your whining instead of actually getting a clue... that is a truly impressive amount of stupidity and nonsense, to be compressed into such a relatively short post. Hats off to you sir, even if it is for all the wrong reasons.

    Gambling and Lootboxes...

my input? WG's legal team has much more of an idea than we random forumites do, so they'll probably know how to stay within the bounds of the law...

    Hiding missions in release notes

well, at least your recognize the problem... there were multiple separate news articles about the whole thing, most of which even got bumped a few times. so, in conclusion, see above...
  19. one would assume so yeah... aww, my poor Atlanta
  20. fair enough, and that's exactly the attitude you need to get better. Thing is, at the point that you started recording your video, you could barely still have made it out if you had already started turning left, ducked behind the island and kept kiting - but if by that point you hadn't noticed what was going on on the minimap, then you were going to die a painful and not particularly slow death. Keeping an eye on the minimap and general gameflow is just something that comes with experience. If you start your video and pause it immediately and look at the minimap, you should recognize what's going on - the enemy has pretty much abandoned the rest of the map and are all just concentrated in front of you. They didnt just teleport there - this is a movement that has started quite a while ago, and thus it's possible to spot it in time and play accordingly. Again, that's just something that you'll slowly do more and more once the act of actually controlling your ship becomes more and more natural and thus requires less of your attention. Also, the various interface settings that others have pointed to (like ship names on the minimap and alternate interface mode showing you names and healthbars of the ships you can see) will also provide more information to base your decisions on, once you've got a bit of practice in taking them in. That said, it's much much easier to gather that experience and practice at lower tiers simply because your mistakes aren't punished nearly as hard. Right now, for you as a relatively new player, it seems T7 is still a bit too deadly - absolutely no shame in that. As such, I'd suggest you start a few additional lines, ideally classes other than BB so you know what the world looks like through their eyes. Alternatively or additionally, you can post full replays (better replay files than recorded videos, because then we can control the camera ourselves when needed) of "average" games of yours here - there are usually a couple of experienced guys that will take the time to watch them and give you hints. That, or you can look for a divisionmate or two, or even better a clan (plenty of very casual and friendly squads out there), and learn from them. You've certainly got the right attitude
  21. there are in fact half a dozen things you could have done differently there. The most important one being: Don't put yourself into that position in the first place. Especially in a relatively squishy and not that fast BB like the Nagato, ESPECIALLY especially if you're stock. Why would you go bow-in into that position anyway, when you (should) know full well that you're heavily outnumbered on that side?
  22. Tyrendian89

promised T9 Premium DD: finally here?

nah, Udaloi replacing Tashkent doesnt make much sense (at least as the ships are now) - Tashkent fits its line perfectly, with the option to take the heal. Udaloi would feel just as weird on that line as it does in the current one.
  23. Tyrendian89

    British cruiser question.

I didnt say "easier", because it's not "easier" than anything - just easy to get used to. which has nothing to do with where that key happens to be...
  24. I for one like to imagine that, having been quite vocal about that very matter in the past..
