World of Warships Nominated for #TheYouTubeAd of the Year!

this, pretty much. Still, credit where it's due - I like the Warships add! -
Historical & archival research stream - We need your questions & topics
Tyrendian89 replied to Crysantos's topic in General Discussion
Hm, let's see... How do museums and archives react when an entity called Wargaming comes to them, as opposed to, say, an academic institute or researcher? Probably better now that WG has been around for a while, but I imagine there might be some hesitation every once in a while? What's the longest, most difficult and complicated quest for a specific piece of evidence you've had to go through? Please share a story! Best, most exciting moment in your carreer for WG? Favourite surprise find that you were totally not expecting? What have you always dreamed of finding but never managed to get? How do you handle cases of conflicting evidence, where one source says one thing and a different source says something else? And relatedly, ever had any forgeries/fakes among your material? Any interesting stories in that regard? Out of sheer principle and tradition, something about the Sikrit Russian Dokumints for the Kurfürst triple turrets... -
No FXP for Flying Papa Papa and Ourorbourus Flags

so, anybody surprised our dear OP has now stopped responding? -
this is the main issue here: There's a world of difference between a truly Stalingrad-heavy comp (like AAO ran today) and a comp that has one or two Stalingrads (like ours). Against heavy Stalingrad comps, the thing to do is really leverage your massive spotting advantage - try to isolate one of them, and/or try to lure or force one of them into a bad push (a Stalingrad dies really quickly if you have the right ship on her flank, seeing as her citadel is about the size of a Worcester...^^) Against one or two Stalins that are just part of a working team, I'd say your best bet is to try to limit the amount of opportunities you give them - either isolate one and kill it quickly, or use terrain to isolate it and kill its friends. Stalingrads are really not all that mobile... they can have a hard time changing positions in a vaguely safe manner that doesnt get them killed due to their combination of horrid concealment and vulnerable (ish, assuming you're not stuck in a Hindenburg at longer ranges where your sucky pen screws you over...^^) broadside. Identify the "blind spots" of their current positions, and use them. Easier said than done against a well-positioned and awake Stalingrad, of course, but... I can't very well reveal all of our SUPER SIKRIT HAGS TEKTIKS HAGTIKS here...

Next Ranked Sprint at Tier 6, it seems.
Tyrendian89 replied to Verblonde's topic in General Discussion
I'll have to respectfully disagree here. Sure, the T-61 is good, significantly too good in fact, no question about it at all. But at least in my experience it doesnt nearly dominate its tier to the extent that a Kamikaze or Gremlin do, simply because its competition (Shino, Anshan, Fushun, Farragut...) is a lot more competent themselves. -

okay screw it I just cant resist... Not seeing any response to that @Cpt_Blackadder_II, cat got your tonge -
you know what's even more funny? With WG pretty much straight up selling Steel in a little bit, they're effectively eliminating the last chance of Stalin ever getting nerfed - before, they could sort of have claimed "we can nerf her because no one paid real money for her, she was a grind just like every silver ship (just a bit harder)". Yeah well that'll be gone...

which is a firm and written rule... where again? Oh right, it isnt. Ranked is what the devs and players make it. -

so, just as expected then - the flag works just fine... -
I should probably not mention that we "only" ran two Balancegrads, but supported that with two equally balanced Worcesters, right?

the only truly problematic ship powerlevel wise is the T-61, I'd say - that thing really should be T7, or at least have some sort of bloody weakness... but otherwise, sure some of the premiums are good (DeGrasse for example), but they dont completely invalidate the entirety of the silver lineup through their sheer existence like Grem, Kami and Giulio do at T5... -

T6 is a looooot better than T5, that's for sure - now I just need to hope divisions of two are legal again, that really helped make things kinda fun despite the bad tier last time -
There have been requests for a credit sink for quite a while - well, I just had an absolutely brilliant idea! Why not introduce the ultimate vanity item, and allow us to turn our ships into solid gold?! I imagine this being an alternative colour palette for maybe the permanent camoflages for T10 ships (since you cant really claim you've got too many credits until you have at least the majority of those, pleb!), that would be available for the low price of 50 million credits per ship. Basic feature would be to really Bling out your ship, but this could of course be further expanded - the ship's horn could be replaced by the sound of a cash register, your shells could be turned into huge coins that leave behind a scattering of Banknotes as their tracers (which would even give you the opportunity of sticking it to the Tanks team with a hearty THIS IS GOLD AMMO DONE RIGHT!)... the possiblities are nearly endless here! (On a somewhat more serious note - I would really like some sort of vanity ship skins as credit sinks, even if they're not quite as outrageous as suggested above... maybe let players design some of the skins ourselves by way of contests similar to what was recently done for the Blyska and Normandie?)

Steel for money, steel from campaign, steel everywhere
Tyrendian89 replied to FeelTheseTorps's topic in General Discussion
that is complete nonsense, at least for what they have announced now. Neither will it be "without any effort" (you basically buy a set of missions that may well be very hard and/or grindy), nor will this be enough to get one of the "Big" ships (getting 100% of the New Years event totals up to barely enough to get a Black, according to what we've seen so far). Please at least get your facts straight before you come complaining next time. says who? Did WG actually ever say Steel would be exclusive to competitive modes? I'd be interested in that quote... -
this.

if you want to (post match usually, unless you're very quick) check out these kind of stats on unreleased or premium ships, I can heartily recommend the excellent WoWs Fitting Tool at https://wowsft.com/

that one's just not had enough time to arm, nothing unusual at all about it. As for OP and some of the other cases - just insufficient information to say whether it was normal working as intended, the people involved just missed something, or it was indeed a bug....

I have yet to meet an actually good JB in battle... most are so incredibly bad (read: bow-tanking either in their own spawn or completely yolo) that they pretty much have zero influence on the battle. Which is not to say that JB isnt a scary ship if played well - but most are just irrelevant because they have no clue what they're doing...
-
for you? honestly, at this point, none of them. Your ships will only make good income if you are able to perform in them, and it appears that for you T9 is a tad too high at this point. You'll make better money in, say, T7 just because there you can actually have the good games that allow your ships to give you the income they are capable of.

Wasting Credits for a purely visual thing
Tyrendian89 replied to Commander_Cornflakes's topic in General Discussion
well, if you price it so it's a halfway reasonable credit dump for us, you make it prohibitively expensive for newer players... so yeah, no matter what you'd make the price, you'd be sure to get some form of complaint... -
someone's in for a fun day tomorrow...

Black Friday Missions, 50k BASE XP
Tyrendian89 replied to ApesTogetherStronK's topic in General Discussion
doesnt seem to stop you from complaining tho... -
happens on occasion, completely unrelated to the ship you're in. Sometimes, one of the turrets just decides to take a vacation from that whole "reality" thing, and who can blame them...
