Mikhail Kutuzov : Wargaming API Stats
Tyrendian89 replied to ShipComrade's topic in General Discussion
if even that... looks like a Cleveland with worse AA but 2x5 torpedoes (and probably better shell arcs admittedly...) to me -
so, how is the Gremlin straight better than the Gnevny? It's got 800 less HP, is 1kt slower but more maneuverable, has a slightly different AA suite, and its torps are fired in a different mode (thus slower but longer range). Except for the latter, which might be considered better but not by a gigantic margin because slower torps are easier to dodge if you know what you're doing (granted, lower tiers and all that...), I don't see a shred of pay-to-win in the Grem. And while Murmansk and Atago might be slightly stronger than their counterparts, the difference again is minor enough for me to still consider WoWS a not-pay-to-win game, especially since both will still die to a well-placed BB salvo if the driver screws up.

Class-only missions for a whole week = A bad thing indeed.
Tyrendian89 replied to Andreevson's topic in General Discussion
hmmm well that's been generally my experience over the last few weeks, no matter the tier - guess we're just getting different matches then... -

Tyrendian89 replied to Andreevson's topic in General Discussion
considering the complete lack of worthwhile rewards, I (and I'm sure I'm not alone in that) completely ignore these missions, and neither have I noticed any change in population of the matches... -
The clan area of wows need to start right now!
Tyrendian89 replied to gizaman's topic in General Discussion
that's a pretty neat idea... and while they're at it they can give us unified economy already (not that I care since I never played WoT and don't plan to, but many others are still waiting for that... ) -

Tyrendian89 replied to gizaman's topic in General Discussion
I would disagree with that gizaman - I think (with no data to back me up, but same goes for you so we're both just posting assumptions here ) there are more people waiting for new ships than there are waiting for clan features, simply because new ships will make every player happy while only a few play it seriously enough to care about clan features. So WG's decision to first put out the Russian and German trees is probably sound. Now, don't get me wrong, I wholeheartedly agree that WoWS needs a system for clans and clan battles, and better sooner than later, to keep the veterans and serious players in its thrall so to speak. And that would probably "reactivate" a decent amount of older accounts. But what news report, in your opinion, will get more new players to join the game - "World of Warships now has features for high-end competitive play" or "The legendary Bismarck now sails the waters of World of Warships - get the game for free HERE" -
by the way, what happens if you lose money on a game (say Yamato getting detonated by a single early carrier torp, as I've seen happen...), and don't have enough to pay the bill? Does the game confiscate your ship?
-
while that's illegal as per contest rules, Sadzior's entry would still get my vote for funny

hey that's something we can put the extra dubloons we got out of Wargaming's brilliant bundles to use for right?!

Wyoming is causing me to lose the will to live
Tyrendian89 replied to Admiral_H_Nelson's topic in Battleships
yeah I did see that, but that number doesn't include flags or the first win of the day bonus afaik... Anyway, good on you for just skipping a ship you weren't feeling! Sure hope the New York works out better for you! If it doesn't, maybe you might want to consider uploading a replay or two on here so we can analyse where you can improve together with you? Like this it's kind of hard to give you substantial advice... -
What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?
Tyrendian89 replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
Got my first ever Solo Warrior, and in one of the worst ships imho - the Yorck. Got down to around 100hp too, poor Shotgun New York just couldn't hit me that final time at long range and thus we won by cap. -
Negative numbers while loading planes in CV
Tyrendian89 replied to laudano's topic in General Discussion
haven't seen that, but I haven't played carriers in ages... got a screenshot? -
your problem sits entirely behind the steering wheel/in front of the screen there. And that's not an attack on you personally; looks like the Nagato just doesn't fit your style (although if it doesn't, don't try the Colo either). Or you could just persevere, learn the quirks of this lovely lady and enjoy one of the best battleships in the game once you do.

yeah right because calling Ectar out, especially in such a sophisticated and friendly fashion, will surely make him answer all our questions! -.-

Wyoming is causing me to lose the will to live
Tyrendian89 replied to Admiral_H_Nelson's topic in Battleships
if this were true, it would mean you were the absolute worst captain in the history of WoWS - which you're not. That would work out to something like 450 average XP per battle, which with premium and flags factored in would mean you'd have to pretty much be dead last in your team every single time base XP wise. Which, frankly, would be an achievement even in the Karlsruhe, let alone the Wyoming. Take your time, get a feel for the guns, shoot the right ammo at the right targets. -
Wargaming's take on historical reality vs online gaming?
Tyrendian89 replied to vaskemaskina's topic in General Discussion
@BBs speed: historical - blame the US Navy for their standard battleships... health: not the only factor - USN BBs are in fact quite a bit tankier than their counterparts due to heavy armour. Although I do kind of wonder at the big gap at T6&7... guns: a bit harder to judge how they came up with the precise figures, probably just design/balance choice within reasonable deviation of history and Cruisers - do you want all cruisers to be the same? I can't find any mention of the two Pensacola class cruisers using their torpedoes in combat, as they were removed before the war started anyway, so that takes care of explaining that... US cruisers have their role (although it does get ever more useless with every nerf to carriers because people stop playing them... If they did everything else just as good as their counterparts, how would their (again historically) far far superior AA be balanced? -
meanwhile in the RU premium shop, a bundle of Blyska, port slot, 1500 dubloons and a couple of flags for 24,25€: https://ru.wargaming.net/shop/wows/main/1183/ and that's something I could totally see myself buying! €dit: US on the other hand currently has horrible specials - Murmansk plus 7 days premium for 20€ lol Oh and the Warspite bundle over in Asia is a bit better than ours value wise but not back-breakingly so, no premium, less dubloons, different addons for ~35€

stock (1-0-1) is still the better Bogue config imho, since with a lone Dive Bomber squadron you're not gonna do a whole lot for your team, and you also tend to make for a pretty unfun game for your opposite number

pearl harbor anniversary ? Nothing special
Tyrendian89 replied to lethalbizzell's topic in General Discussion
someone with an account over on the US side of things should totally link this "discussion" to them... that should cause a bit of a stir... -
I wasn't saying they shouldn't read it or report it, that would obviously be a good thing. What management then does with that information is up to them, and I think the community is more or less in agreement as to what we feel they should do. But the lack of communication is at least in part also down to our own behaviour - I know I wouldn't have fun going to work knowing I'd have to deal with the kind of atmosphere going on here at the moment regarding Wargaming policies.

!probably unpopular opinion incoming, but I'm just going to say it regardless! And what exactly in this gigantic whinefest [edited] of a thread (not that I disagree with the substance of what's being said mind you! I agree the bundles are a bad idea and I'm unlikely to ever buy any unless they change for the better in a major way!) would give any WG staff member even the slightest inclination to post? Look at it from their perspective just for a second: They're doing their job, coping with the decisions of their higher-ups, and pretty much all they ever get for it on these forums is criticism, whinery, personal attacks... Can you really blame them for being reluctant to stick their necks out to us fine people just to get it chopped off over another matter they probably have little to no control over?

And here I was hoping things were going to change for the better, what with the two different Blyska bundles at least giving us a choice as to how much extra we wanted, and the Mikasa also being not quite as silly. Honestly, if WG had offered something similar to the 35€ Blyska bundle for the Warspite I would have been sorely tempted. But not this one, certainly not.

don't really know where to put this, so I'll just leave it here for now... just noticed this little gem of a bug with the discount we get on low-tier USN and IJN ships... take a look at the price we currently pay for the Phoenix

Countering teamkilling and friendly fire
Tyrendian89 replied to Cmd_Jonzen's topic in General Discussion
should be pretty easy to keep ramming damage out of it right? or maybe use actual damage done as a metric, as long as that's below say 250 you're fine...
