that's called lag, and bad one at that.

What did you buy during the New Year's Event?
Tyrendian89 replied to viceadmiral123's topic in General Discussion
well then you're a fail for not looking at the ship you bought... what made you think Balti was any different?! got myself Benson, Fubuki and Izumo, so pretty good timing and results for me, especially since I probably would never have had the stomach to grind the Hatsu for as long as it would have taken without the 3x bonus... -
the only thing that causes semi-reliable FPS drops for me is a two-carrier game where most of the squadrons are currently onscreen... other than that I get the odd random stutter, but no patterns that I could see...

Am I the only one finding this game not fun anymore?
Tyrendian89 replied to SeaMonsterUK's topic in General Discussion
are you the only one? No, of course not, if even just from a statistical standpoint! Do I feel the same as you? no I don't, I still have fun, despite the issues the game admittedly does have. -
yup, I completely agree with you! And the fact that he apparently got yelled at to sacrifice himself makes it all the more understandable that he didn't end up doing so - stubbornness is very much a normal human reaction to being yelled at

oh shuddup you grammarnazi LOOOOOOOOSER

very close to getting mine, curious how she'll do for me (Iowa isn't doing well for me for some reason, miles behind things like Fuso and Nagato in average stats, let alone the three T8 BBs...) €dit: Well stock Izumo is an absolute pain; how the hell does a T9 have literally THE worst 16" AP shells in the entire game? Don't think I've gotten a single citadel on a BB yet, and the targets included 10km broadsiding Iowas... A dispersion model that seems intent on trolling me continuously (as in, the spread looks nice and tight, I almost get excited - until every single shell lands in a nice and tight pattern all around the target, or manages to bounce off of a flat Amagi broadside) doesn't help either, and neither does a succession of teams that never heard of the concept of supporting the battleships. And, you know, that vaunted armour? Well here's a 20k salvo from maybe 25° off your bow (belt, not deck), thanks for playing! OK enough ranting, but for now, stock Izumo definitely takes third place in my eternal list of least fun ships behind Yorck and Karlsruhe.

yep, and it's much better than some people make it out to be, it just requires its own playstyle. It doesn't suit every player, but if you can make her shine, she'll shine very very brightly indeed. Try playing the NewMex as a close-range brawler - if you like that, Colo might just do wonders for you!

as well you may - though it's just natural for anyone to list all the points supporting their view of the situation while (often unintentionally) forgetting/not percieving those that oppose it. But I wasn't trying to attack the OP or anyone supporting him in the first place, I was more trying to make people see that, depending on the situation, sometimes there's a lot of value in sacrificing your ship. Both in terms of the team winning, and in terms of your own gain.

Please make fire damage count toward xp and credits
Tyrendian89 replied to kantkantian's topic in General Discussion
ummm no. The things that influence XP gain from damage are: -damage done relative to target's max HP -target's tier relative to yours -hidden flat XP modifier of your ship, the ones that got changed in 0.5.2 -
I wouldn't be so quick to call that the right choice (no attack on you OP, just pointing something out!). We just don't have enough info to make that call. What really matters in that situation is not whether the Fuso dies or not (and honestly, it doesn't matter squat for its driver either because the T6 repair bills are tiny), but whether said death would have a chance of achieving something. Here's just two scenarios where suiciding into that cap circle would have been the only halfway sensible move: a) the friendly team was also about to cap, but just a little bit behind the opponents, so the delaying action would have won the game b) there was substantial support on the way but slightly too far away to get into the cap in time - again, the delaying action would have given the team a significant chance to pull out a win, especially if the Fuso can draw the DDs out of cover Also, honestly, even from a pure "selfish jerk" (not saying you are one OP! well except for your comment about teamplay ), going in there would probably have been the better move in a Fuso. Look at it this way: What did you gain by staying away? Nothing, maybe a few thousand credits less on the repair bill. Wow. What could you have gained by heading (heck call it suiciding!) into cap? A whole bunch of XP and credits for resetting the cap, potentially a load of fun trying to dodge all those torps, and last but not least the admiration of your teammates, possibly a few compliments instead of (deserved or not, we can't tell) reports.

I wouldn't go that far; a pure cruiser match might actually be pretty neat once in a while. Or Wargaming could just finalise the Training Room/Custom Battles, and then we could organise fun games to our hearts' content via these here forums...
-
I wouldn't take the Ring of Buoys to literally - usually they're kinda sensibly placed in tactically important areas of the repsective battlefield that would actually make sense to control, maybe just interpret the buoys as a marker for that...
-
lulz nice one! I'm always strangely happy when I get a nice round number somewhere as well, be it 66.666 fire damage (yes that actually happened, forgot to take a screen tho...) or even 1337 base xp
-
BB slugfest wouldn't be all that interesting I think (I had a match almost like that, with I think nineteen Battleships total - pretty boring since no one was able to push anything because of way too much focus fire), and depending on Tier a pure Destroyer match might just be IJN Torp walls all day hoping for lucky hits...
-
and it wouldn't even be such a bad one, except almost all of them will be running fighter config to get maximum kills for themselves, which will discourage those who like to do damage in their CVs even more... I dread to think what this will mean for the poor Zuiho players out there, who don't even have the option to field anything that can give Fighter Bogue any kind of pause...
-
yeah seems pretty decent, especially since I'd been toying with the idea of rebuying a Kongo just for funsies and divisioning... only thing I don't like is the 150 planes part, that will take aaaages considering how rare CVs are currently. Although... I could actually see this boosting CV numbers by quite a bit in the short term, which wouldn't be bad at all except for my Nikolai

I have 210K Free EXP, what to spend it on?
Tyrendian89 replied to CatOnKeyboard's topic in General Discussion
well yes definitely give her a try, I will do the same when I finish Amagi in the next few days. Gonna see how bad stock Izumo really is, decide how badly I want the upgrades, then play the upgraded ship more, then decide how fast I want out to the big ol' Tomato -
Please make fire damage count toward xp and credits
Tyrendian89 replied to kantkantian's topic in General Discussion
the whole myth that it wasn't was caused by a faulty translation from the RU Q&A, as we finally learned about a week ago iirc -
honestly, from what I saw in that vid (first video of Aimbot in action that i bothered watching), I can shoot way better than that, so I personally am not afraid to meet anyone using that thing. But I do fear what WG's lack of success in eradicating it will mean for the games' future...

You can convert the XP on premium ships into free XP the same way as on other ships: via dubloons, at 25 XP per gold. There's two other main uses for premium ships (besides many of them being just straight fun ships to play): -they have a substantial bonus to your credit gain, so they're great moneymakers as long as you know half of what you're doing -they can be used to train up a captain of that nation for later use on another ship (retraining away from a premium ship is free, and the captain will also profit from the increased XP gain the ship has)

Won with Furutaka, didn't get X3 bonus. lol
Tyrendian89 replied to _Zeromancer_'s topic in General Discussion
"enabled" how? you just get it on the first win of the day, and that's that... and the total XP number in the first end screen does usually give a decent indication as to whether you had a x3 multiplier or not (unless you had absolutely utopian ideas about your own participation in a given match... )... or what do you mean? -
as an option maybe, with precise settings what you want to hear about. Otherwise it'd be a boatload of clutter in your ears...

doesn't change the fact that they behave vastly different, making AP almost completely useless against anything other than point blank targets.
-
honestly, you'd have to be really bad to make no money off the Torpitz, with its reduced repair bill and what feels like a x2 credit gain multiplier... but yes Murmansk is easier because of much less scary (both ship and skill wise) opposition, and it costs a fraction to boot.
