I've once found a profile with a Tirpitz below 10k avg. damage over 90 games iirc... how anyone can keep playing like that is beyond me.

solid then. Just go for more early skills... Sit Awareness is never a bad skill to have, basic firing training doesn't hurt... maybe even AFT for secondaries+AA

Torp Deffence am i doing it worng?
Tyrendian89 replied to Hjemismanden's topic in General Discussion
that's just bad luck, you did the right thing. Torpedoes that hit the area of your magazines (below the turrets, so front and back of your ship) have a small chance to cause your ship to detonate, equalling an instakill. But the chances for that are very small - so trying to eat as few torps as possible is definitely the right move. -
It is. so we might as well stop talking to you. Which really is not a critique of you - it's just a matter of different understandings of how the game should work, with both sides sticking to theirs and not being compatible.

knowing what ship you were playing would have helped...

been quite a while since I was at Lolorado, but I'd still take the range on her. Ideally, you never want to be fighting at those kinds of ranges - but you can't always help it given how slow the ship is. And there's nothing more frustrating than being in a big slow BB and being hammered to death from outside your effective range - especially nowadays that Shchors and the like can do that so comfortably, let alone other Battleships. So, for the Colo I'd say keep the range, but ditch it for the AA as soon as you get to NC.

that I think is a fair assessment of mirror matchmaking: It's good for the game overall, i.e. the non-CV (and non-Cleveland/DesMoines...) players, by ensuring they aren't at the complete mercy of a lone carrier on the enemy team that has struck the jackpot of Strike loadout plus no enemy carrier (unless the CV driver on your team is AFK, but that's at least rare). And it's probably also good for the more mediocre CV drivers out there, to give them a chance to learn in "normal conditions". But it does reduce the variety and fun for those really good players that would have enjoyed the extra challenge.

I think getting a third line could, if done right (whatever right would be...), help balance the two existing ones because they'd run into more varied situations. As in, right now, take Strike Lexi. There's almost exclusively two things you run into: another Strike Lexi, which almost always ends up in a Snipe race. And balanced Shokaku, which makes life hella difficult for the Lexi driver if on a similar skill level as his opposition. And life for a Shokaku is pretty similar: you either run into your mirror, which often means neither one has fighters effectively because they cancel each other out, or you run into Strike Lexi which is exciting because one mistake will often leave you (or a teammate at least) dead to a snipe. The other configurations are pretty rare - shaking things up in that regard would I think benefit all involved.

Ye olde Torpitz, again both bundled and unbundled which is nice - 70€ and 45€ a pop respectively, so standard pricing for her. Guess Wargaming is no longer considering the only Premium T8 BB a rarity they want to keep from the masses, which is kinda understandable. Also, brace for T8 battles being "fun" again with all the Derpitzes sailing around - good time to grind my Fubuki I guess between this and the exciting prospects 5.5 offers on the horizon

Some interesting info around the world

which is seriously good by the way - I have not seen a single heated argument on there, no name calling (of each other - the occasional rant about potato teams is par for the course ) - which I think is remarkable considering it IS part of the internet.... -
and we needed another separate about the Saipan... why exactly?

My compliation video of good and maybe impressive gameplay (must watch)
Tyrendian89 replied to Titanity's topic in Videos & Streams
constructive criticism: dont tell us what we "must watch". That's a) rude and b) likely to drive more people (including me) away than it will ever attract. Bye. -
yup works fine here too...

Survivability Expert underpowered for everything except DDs
Tyrendian89 replied to Mik1984's topic in General Discussion
watch out, we've got a self-proclaimed all-knowing master game designer here! Arrogant much? Not that I disagree about Survivability Expert mind you - but you wouldn't believe how many BB drivers take that... I mean, on a Yamato it's ridiculously stupid but has the novelty value of giving you six figures of health, but I keep running into Iowas etc with that... -
only when it's at least two reports in the same match

bootcamp missions appear there, under Missions (who would have guessed...). Not sure what weekend specials you're referring to, those are usually just a better XP multiplier for your first win of the day...

mission interace in port

would that qualify as the Soviet Cruise Missiles everyone expects to show up as armament of a T10 at some point?
-
yeah good shell arcs are important, but having wonky arcs doesnt automatically make a ship bad - you just have to adapt to them (and hope the ship has other strengths, like Cleve...).

Some interesting info around the world
Tyrendian89 replied to Takeda92's topic in General Discussion
well... Trigger certainly qualifies for the latter but also for the former... -
yeah someone's seriously full of himself... I'd have laughed as well had it not been for that pathetic dig at Flamu "only being good because of mods"...

torp changes is the right term

real question is why do we have any partitioning in the forums at all since people keep posting all kinds of things in here...
