The great Forum member opinion poll
Tyrendian89 replied to Widar_Thule's topic in General Discussion
that - makes the poll completely useless because one can't even finish it. -
define "still"... you do realize the patch hasn't even hit yet?
-
yeah that's a clear case of "winrate not your fault"...

Sorry! Not the intention! But yeah well I dunno...I mean my WTR is complete garbage in her, lowest by quite a margin among all the ships I've played with any kind of serious intent, followed in that regard by Iowa incidentally... it's probably more to do with expectations vs. reality for me... I mean it's the friggin' Yamato, so how the heck can I have the same average damage in my Derpitz, and better in Zao? And especially when I see Flamu&co... with the crazy salvoes they put out... meanwhile my Yamato usually seems to shoot Marshmellows instead of shells, I've managed to bounce a full salvo off a hardly angled Atago at 6km, or failed to do anything to a beached broadside Tirpitz at 8km repeatedly... and all the while you hear about how those guns go through anything, how incredibly accurate they are etc, and you get nailed by them reliably, by some very mediocre players no less... Yamato never fails to make me very annoyed whenever I play her, because of the sheer awesome I expected when I got her (was my first T10 too...). OK rant over, although ranting is kinda the point of this topic isnt it?^^ you can very often find high tier divisions in the Forumites channel (shameless plug! ) - I've done a whole evening of Triple Yamato division with WolfGewehr and Geralt once, which was pretty fun

cursed? my first ten Fletcher games saw me detonate three times (twice from the first shell I took), and lose an average of at least two or three turrets per match... worst, compared to my general stats? Yamato. I just can't. No idea why. Oh, and Iowa dispersion just hates me.

Some interesting info around the world

nice! gimmegimmegimme! -
well at least that's the kind of response we needed - they admit they effed up, they explain how they effed up, they apologize for effing up, and they offer tokens of that apology. Let's see how quickly they manage to get a fix in.

...what does this have to do with Team Battles, exactly?

not sure I really agree Iowa needs substantial buffs, since she's largely considered better than Izumo already. Bit of accuracy would do it methinks, just to make her less annoying to play in that regard. Montana though, yay! Looking forward to see what they'll do to the poor ol' girl xD -
about a page late but thanks regardless

Should premium ships be banned once and for all from competitive modes?
Tyrendian89 replied to OVanBruce's topic in Archive
well... that's not really an unfair advantage... you can expect ANY ship in the higher levels of competitive play to have 15pt captains at the least, Premium ships just make that easier (as in, they save you dubloons=money for retraining, but cost you money in the first place to get them)... -
I prefer the theory that it's made of the collected tears of all the whiners...

thanks to glorious WG mechanics it's the only thing you CAN do against bow-on Yamatos... and yes, look for other targets, disengage and seek another fight and all that - but sometimes those (usually valid) things just don't work and you have to bite the bulletshoot the Yamato.
-
depends heavily on your own ship as well... some ships have longer effective ranges for their AP than others (*cough* Russians *cough*). Generally, as long as the arc of your shells is flat, AP will do reasonably well against flat broadsides, but whenever the armour is angled significantly (vertical angle plays a role here as well, hence flat arcs being good for AP) you will tend to bounce - or if the armour is just plain too thick for your shells to punch.

more than two at least might be interesting gameplay wise, but they'd probably need to optimize performance on planes quite a bit before that becomes viable - planes are literally the only thing that sometimes manages to lag my game...

[POLL]Name of the T10 German BB "Grossdeutschland"

stats look to be right in line with your other BBs... as in, something like 33% better than the other IJN BBs that you played with reasonable success...

Did they increase Nurnberg price and XP in one of the last patches?

Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
Tyrendian89 replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
ran into Sonic_157 with his Cleveland - sadly turned out to be a rather quick and boring game that lasted barely 10 minutes, denying us the chance to properly greet each other, Warships style (i.e. by hurling death at each other) -
yeah the google translate is strong with this one, but it's understandable which is more than we sometimes get from native English speakers ;) none of the situations you describe strike me as that unusual - sure, they may be a bit of bad luck, but all of those will happen. It's just more noticable when they occur clustered, which according to probability they will sooner or later... and it's not like you weren't doing the same to your opponents simultaneously, you just don't notice it as clearly
