do Manual Secondaries help? Yes, a lot, if you've got the wherewithall to actually use them - if you can't keep your head in the game and designate targets all the time you will actually lose effectiveness because they won't fire at all. Are they worth it? No, probably not - at least not for five points. But they sure are fun as heck to watch... To get an impression: The more effective alternative is probably to get more cheaper skills - a combination of things like BFT/Basics of Survivability/Situational Awareness (whichever one you didn't pick), Vigilance/Supernintendo or even Manual AA are probably worth more than either Manual Secondaries or Jack Of All Trades. -
weeeeell... several of the guys from Tora Tora Tora earned the same amount (500 diamonds) by beating the Dream Team five times... they at least earned it, so you keep on running

I would, if I remotely understood what you're getting at, which I still don't (at least with the sub classes). Probably a language issue... As for the first idea - that's basically a mix of XVM and skill-based matchmaking, right? Since we know the toxicity XVM tends to create, and also since something similar has been tried in the Ranked seasons, I doubt that would work...

...wha? I don't get either of your proposals/ideas... What would that rating system be rating? And what would those sub classes (btw, lol@ sniper BBs - might as well call them uselessBB... that's got nothing to do with the ship and everything with the guy behind the wheel...) even be supposed to do? What would be the connection to Captain Skills?

Seconded, Thirded, Fourthed and whatever comes after that... really really ugly, especially because he was so hilariously wrong. Talking smack about an actual bad player you're beating up is one thing, but getting your behinds royally handed to you (semi)reliably by the top teams and then still insulting the enemy for being bad... just no.

Are IJN Tier X large ships still superior to their USN counterparts?

Yamato is clearly superior to Monty, yes. not gonna change, either, even though Monty's getting a few buffs next patch. And same probably for Haku over Midway, though not by quite as much. But, on T9 Iowa is probably better than Izumo even now, and is getting very substantial buffs soon, so that's a clear win for the USN. And the same might even be true for NC vs Amagi - I won't judge that yet because I haven't tried out how accurate the NC is going to be in practice. -

ran into lots of forumites today, including but not limited to Ictogan (damn you and your Taiho forcing me into a totally suicidal position!), Live85 and ST_iX, one match with XTHD, waxx25, FTD, Exustio and couple of others all on the other side (which unsurprisingly stomped us hard considering half their team was made up of the best of the best of the entire server...), and last but not least wongman666 and T0byJug (both of whom had a pretty unfortunate match sadly) -

well yeah option maybe... but still, hangtime is a better indicator of that anyway, and you'd have to learn comparative values for either one if you want to get any use out of them. Besides, you really should know the rough kind of arc your guns have in the first place unless it's literally the first time you play a ship, and in any case you will simply see it as soon as you fire for the first time (which, when done right at spawn, usually has zero risk other than getting some sideways looks from your teammates). So, sorry but I still fail to see any need or benefit. -

...maaaaybe because Blyska is a different ship from Gnevny? Mainly, isn't Russian and thus has the same Invivifire rules as say USN DDs instead of the larger penalty RU DDs get?

yep, seconded (or well thirded...) Torp Reload is amazing on Fletch, simply because the Torps are, on balance, probably the best in the entire game these days -
so is Shchors for that matter... which I for some reason that I don't fully understand myself like much better than even Myoko. But Atlanta was never unplayable in competent hands - I'm sure you can make her work pretty well in Ranked if you're good. She's just very vulnerable to not getting her needed circumstances and then completely crapping out

from the TB perspective (member of Tora Tora Tora here), AS Shokaku is what pretty much every single remotely top team plays. In a coordinated team with really good BBs and cruisers, it's not the CV's (or DD's for that matter) job to deal large amounts of damage. It's all about map control - i.e. getting your team spotting information and denying it to the enemy team, and in addition restricting the movements of the enemy DD. But, in Randoms and Ranked, I couldn't agree with you more - Strike almost all the way, not a shred of doubt about it. An AS CV has to stop almost every single attack by the enemy carrier to be even close to as useful as him, which against competent Strike Carriers is nigh on impossible. Although there are a couple of AS loadouts, Hakuryu in particular, that do have merit.

as Flamu pointed out, it's not so much the armour values that make her squishy (althogh more armour doesn't exactly help against BB shells, it's more likely to hurt infact because it helps said shells to arm in the first place instead of overpenning...) but the design. She has a really awkward shape that makes her quite the magnet for stray Citadels...
