looks like Prinz Eugen might turn out to be an exclusive reward/prize ship, judging by this as its first appearance: http://forum.worldofwarships.eu/index.php?/topic/58989-odem-mortis-community-cup-omc-cup/ if that holds true, I have to applaud WG's choice of it as a "trophy ship": very baseline stats, so definitely not OP, and a metric ton of history to make the ship desirable

to be fair, currently it really doesn't take much to be able to club those two... we shall see how Nassau fares in that regard

I also would not mind more diverse weekend bonuses, like bonus credits on first wins, or bonus Captain/Free XP, or anything really to make things a bit more varied than just a slightly bigger modifier on something we have all the time...

which is the way it is (kinda depending on where you draw the lines between good, average and bad players naturally).

if 60k is an "epic game" for you, then high tiers are not for you. making profit is very possible even in T10 ships if you know what you're doing. Also, could these economy whine threads please stop? We get like five a week at least, each with the exact same content...

I knew all of that, and what it means for the ship. I was speaking purely in game terms, and acknowledged it was just based on one video and the opinions voiced therein by an experienced player. Dunkerque may not have been designed to face off against ships like the Bismarck or the Nagato (wrong side of the world for that anyway...), but in the game she will have to - and unlike Scharnhorst, about whom much the same could be said in terms of designed opponents with her 11" guns, Dunkerque seems to just lack the tools (armour especially) to deal with that reliably. That neither makes her a failed design in either history or the game, nor does it make her unplayable - it just makes her a comparatively weaker ship in a tier with very very strong Battleships (still all just judging by Flamu's video and the raw stats, didnt have a chance to watch Aerroon's take yet). And that makes me question whether I will buy her - nothing more, nothing less.

my Tirpitz painfully agrees with you... impossible to citadel she may nearly be, but if I eff up I still get punished for it like any other BB, they just don't usually get the shiny Citadel ribbons

even that, judging purely by the damage Flamu ate in that video (which means I may be hilariously wrong here! Bucket of Salt implied!), doesnt seem to work really - you might not eat many citadels from 14"ers, but ye seemed to take a LOT of he damage, and even perfectly angled he wasn't even bouncing Kongos let alone bigger guns. And it's still a big big target too... ah well, wait for more reviews and actually shooting a few myself I guess (got one Frenchman in the clan that is definitely buying her, so might even get into a training room and really put her armour to the test...)

or anything worthwhile about the ship really... this is going to get eaten in T8 matches sooooo badly by the looks of it... just imagine this thing with its large size, weak armour and zero effective AA getting bombed by a Strike Lexi. He can probably oneshot you just with his Dive Bombers... while the plethora of powerful 15" and 16" guns just laugh at your angled armour...

yes. Those kinds of upgrades work via a priority list - as in, they check whether something is a main gun first, and only if it isnt they care about whether they're AA.

I honestly don't care what the line is like when it comes to my decision about Scharnhorst - the ship itself just looks waaaaaay too fun to pass up on

more like Wargaming wasn't smart enough to realize triple turrets are slightly different from dual turrets, ran with the arrangement from the earlier ships (which were made for duals) and "forgot" to account for the triples in that. Remember, whatever the GK may be, it's certainly not a finished German design. Besides, it's not like reality/actual ship designs had anything to do with what is good and what isnt in this arcade game - i.e. broadsides were preferred in reality, while in WoWS they are straight suicide.

whelp... I'm usually one of those infamous "high tier warriors" as you so nicely put it I'll just wait and see what state they actually release in, and the ships up until Bismarck look plenty fun enough that I don't think I'll massively freeXP my way through that, so there will be some time for post-release buffs until I get there strangely though, for me the only keeper among them looks to be the Nassau. Yes, the Tier 3. Crazy right? Yeah sorta... but, well, T4 I've got the Nikolai and T5 I've got a bevvy of ARP Kongos, and neither Kaiser nor König look that exciting to me so no thanks to those. Bayern looks very strong, but I've got a Warspite already which is essentially the same ship. So, eh. Gneisenau sure looks decent as well, but I'm totally going to get the Scharnhorst and I've also got the Nagato, so I don't see much point in keeping a third T7 BB... And then there's Bismarck - will have to see whether I stop the line there or not, and if not what I'll do with her. Got a Tirpitz, so again, hum.

you could also read the 5.10 PTS announcement for that ;-) Yes, that's also coming. I do agree on average income, I'd be interested in that as well, if just for my own ships...

hmmm hard to judge how much of a difference that will make, since afaik we have no significant gameplay experience yet with varying Turtlebacks - we only know how it performs on Tirpitz right?
