not like i didnt aim for it but rng is rng ... anyway, on the completely different end of the specturm im in my minotaur ... with radar ... about 3/4 health left... map is two brothers, im moving for the enemy cap the back and know theres an Edinburgh, Roon and Wooster coming through the mid back to their cap ... ok, so i drop a first set of my torps at around 8k and turn to drop the other side...first set misses, second set in the water...as i finally get close to the gap the roon shows its face, and its 3 torps ... the edinburgh behind it eats another torp but they are all still alive, wooster pops up at the back ... roon is down to a few k health so i start nailing im with my guns and he goes down, switch to wooster(3/4 health left) as edinburgh tries to turn frantically ... wooster eats a couple of citadles and as I turn away I blow him up, Edinburgh smokes but I pop radar and nail him too ... i come out of it with about 80k damage done, 3 kills and half my health still left ... -
Before the smoke nerf she was even more powerful. I barely use smoke offensively these days as you never can really tell when a DD is gonna pop into what, 7.7km of your smoke and spot you and youre a sitting duck. but yeah, shes the only boat I have where I dont mind getting uptiered ... she still performs well.

somehow I get the feeling they are really trying to push the limit on how far they can go with the microtransations and considering how many ppl readily seem to be willing to pay 100€+ for these bundles i think the ceiling isnt reached... man ... i miss the pre-horse armor days ... not micro BS [edited], you payed full price for a game and then you got the game, all of it, not just chunks -
I have Shima and Gearing but only play the Gearing these days. I've completely stopped going for caps straight away when there is radar(which is pretty much every game), hang around, let the cruiser reveal himself and work from there. but im the minority in that ... most ppl still happily go there straight away and get killed off in an instant.

this! I think all the crying you see about the rework is all those CV Mains moaning the loss of their OPness ... I see the rework as making CVs as a lot more accessible than before. I never enjoyed the RTS playstyle simply cause thats not why I picked up this game but with the changed mechanics it might be appealing again. From what I've seen so far Top Tier CVs will signifcantly drop off in power while the lower tiers(up to 7) will see an increase in their usefullness, no more running out of planes halfway through a match

true...with the huge nerf to that the smoke became useless...I barely use it these days other than as a getaway mechanic ... smoking up and stealth firing is a thing of the past

T8 MM is a pain but it strongly depends on the ship. On your average T8 CA or BB or pretty much screwed. DD just needs to be more cautios or you have a Kutuzov in which case you just laugh at all those T10 BBs burning...

was in a T10 match i think yesterday, 4 DDs on each team ... took less than 4min for all 4 of our DDs to be dead cussing how everyone "failed to support" them. that was while yoloing into caps knowing fully well enemy team has 3 CA + 1 BB radar ...

weekdays before peak time its quite enjoyable to play ... had a few matches this morning where the teams were literally 20 points apart in the end ... close calls evenings is the usual sack of potatoes tough ...

yeah, its mostly landslides these days and theres nothing you can do about it ... it really says a lot if only one ship on the enemy team gets killed off by the end off the match. MM needs to be changed to at least somewhat even out the teams. Theres a pletora of stats available and I dont see why we cant have something like its implemented in CS:GO. sure, you still would get bad matches but that will always be the case.

co-op isnt a challenge and neither are the pimped operations. its one thing to just improve number of ships and accuracy vs. your opponent actually playing in a smart way that makes you think on your toes. -

It definitely needs a change and I cannot for the life of me understand why WG claims that LoS radar wouldnt work ... I play mostly DM and a Mino with Radar these days and its just silly how you can ruin a DDs day without taking even the slightest risk. The problem simply is that it's pretty much the only thing that cannot be countered in any meaningful way other than just run + pray you dont get blown up before making it out. Radar is needed in some way but they're needs to be a countermeasure or it needs to be toned down for LoS. If you run into a radar cruiser in the open you should've seen it coming but radaring through islands is silly.

theres no helping somebody in a T10 BB that still drives in straight lines for 2min ... or the DD that drives straight into a middle of the cap when a DM has been spotted close by before ... or a Neptune that sits full broadside behind a cap and gets oneshot by a BB ... -
Never played WoT so dunno what it's like over there but the chat, especially on weekends, is horrible. There's always somebody shouting how it was everyones but their own fault they yolod into a cap and got blown up ... or drove into a full volley of torps cause they were going in a straight line for 2min while being spotted ... the reporting feature is just stupid cause you can report players on the enemy team cause they play poorly ... guess whos gonna report you if you delete them from full health to zero in a single volley ... that and the number of reports(including chat abuse and afk) is limited to 7 in total ... just silly considering theres a bot/afker in almost every game and thats not accounting for the toxic chat.

Just subjective impression but the tirpitz it not what it once was. It's strength lie in mid- to close-range encounters but with its relatively poor concealment in the current meta it just gets HE spammed and will be at half health before it can even get to the spot where she shines. T8 MM is screwing her over even more. It used to be that people ran when derpitz started pushing close but these days they just shrug it off. -
nice sum up. I got the Perth before I began on RN cruisers and hated it, maybe it was the tier but theres just something with that ship that doesnt work for me. and then I quickly moved up through RN and got stuck at the Fiji and im even considering keeping it with premium camo, i just love that thing. First off, the MM is really favorable as she still can perform decently in T9 but more often than not you will get even tier MM as theres a lot happening around T6/7/8 which is nice. and yeah, that thing shreds everything and I also think its wildly underestimated as a lot of ppl seem to try and play it like a US or German Cruiser which doesnt work. Oddly enough most fijis I see have BAD concealment, ie no captain skills and camo so its always nice to let them come close and then smoke up and delete them. only issue I see with it is when going against T8&9 BBs as the damage output somewhat drops off if they dont show you broadside. Im still reluctant atm tough to get Edinburgh as the MM just shafts you at T8 so I might just free-xp it and skip altough from what i've seen from the Neptune it performs really bad.

what he said. the JB is a joke really thanks to its campy playstyle and the T10 MM. I've yet to see one really do well. It's a situational one trick pony and goes down really fast if DM starts spamming HE on it. -

I agree with pretty much all of this, especially the power creep issue. Its not so noticable on the BBs and CAs but I think DDs suffer a lot from this. Then they do silly crap, like the Harugumo. CVs need balance, i dont think the rework is the way to go but I agree that the AP bombs are a joke. Was in my Des Moines the other day, 90% health, close engangement with DD defensive AA on cooldown, in come 2 squads of Divebombers, only the first one struck me, down to 1,5k health ... in one strike. Let that sink in. Personally I feel that WG fixes one thing and breaks 5 others. Its understandable that they want to offer new ships as that what keeps ppl playing and spending money but I feel they are more and more headed in the direction of one-trick ponies instead of balanced ships. Now im not saying you can have something like a Jean-Bart(which Ive only seen underperform at best so far) but if thats your only strategy something is wrong. MM also, and yes, T8 is a hellhole right now. Then thers silly things like the conquerors design and playstyle that just encourage the worst potato style of gameplay. Another issue, for me, and a lot of ppl will disagree with me on this, is the bloody RNG. I hate, hate it, hate it. Had a 10km with a Zao in my Montana the other day, RNG decided to penetrate my behind by missing every single shell. If they want serious competitive play this needs to go, it has nothing to do with skill. Funny enough, in games like War Thunder(never played WoT) its different, your shell hits where you aim it and doesnt just magically disperse by 10m to the left or right every other shot. Then theres the fact that upwards from T9 the ship layouts allow for such awfully campy gameplay its ridiculous. Especially the Bow tanking BBs hugging islands. -
yes,youre right, there should be no counter at all. why not just make the DD explode straight away when hes spotted by radar, easy enough for you ?
