I didn't mean to brag in any way, all I meant to do was pointing out that most of the situations in which people might think that other people are using cheats can be more easily explained with them simply having skill. After re-reading my posts I can see that they might indeed seem rather narcistic, but I was simply trying to argue about what can be done without cheats from first-hand experience. But apparently expressing the opinion that I think that completely banning all mods would be stupid and explaining why I think that makes me a manipulative weeaboo. And please don't argue that I should act as an adult when you make assumptions as to which mods I'm using purely because of my forum avatar and judge me based on it.

It's more about the fact that everything that the cheats allow you to do is stuff that's also possible with skill and doesn't need cheats. Yes, steps should be taken against these hacks, but banning regular mods is a) completely out of proportion due to the actual effectiveness of these cheats, b) will hurt far more people who don't use cheats than people who do and c) will not actually stop cheats from existing because hackers can find other ways to influence game code. Most likely the hack that is being discussed in this thread wouldn't even be influenced by completely banning mods because it's an independent program reading the RAM of wows rather than a mod.

In ships with somewhat fast rudder shift I often show just my stern to an enemy and press A and D for 2-3 seconds each. Minimal change in actual course but dodges tons of shells. Not denying that cheats can have an impact, but I can't really see someone who is using cheats getting nearly as large an advantage as in other games.
-
At which distance and which ship were you playing? I've had games where I dodged that many shells in various ships and I would certainly think that I'm not using any hacks.
-
I don't get why people think that making modding impossible would stop cheats. Look at battlefield, they make modding pretty much impossible and yet there are still cheats for it. I'd rather keep my ship names on the minimap, training room, damage counter, correct skin for Tirpitz and rectangular HP bar than making it slightly more difficult to create cheats. And really there are few games where cheats have less impact than in world of warships. I can do anything that an aim assist can with my pair of "mk1 eyeballs" and my "mk7 brain". And I can also dodge shells by using the very same tools, maybe seeing the impact area would help slightly, but I can't imagine a mediocre player being better than a good player at dodging shells just because he's able to see the impact area and the good player isn't. I'm all for fighting against mods, but I'll oppose any restrictions to regular mods because of cheats.

CV defensive(fighter) deck vs attack deck games
Ictogan replied to NEUTRALIZER_7M's topic in Aircraft Carriers
I would consider strike Bogue superior for sealclubbing. Unless you come up against an AS Bogue it's just able to delete any ship below tier 6 at it's will. And without divisions it only meets up to tier 6. -
Any explanation for recent changes in ships' peformance?
Ictogan replied to Admiral_H_Nelson's topic in General Discussion
Langley: addition of DB squadron Furutaka: C hull Ishizuchi: IIRC it got buffed recently, don't remember in which ways tho Gremmy. Khab and Atlanta: turret HP buff Shima, Kag: Torp nerf Midway, Essex: removal of 1-2-2 Mogami, Marblehead, Murmansk, Cleveland, Omaha: nerf to AFT, BFT & EM -
Recently discovered that these AP shells have insane normalization and holy [edited], the AP on this thing is [edited]OP. It just completely ignores any angling. I love duelling Tenryus in my Tachi because I'm just reliably able to citadel them with every single salvo I fire.

Pro tip: forum search is crap, use google instead - just put "site:forum.worldofwarships.eu" before the stuff you want to search for. So for searching about this you would do "site:forum.worldofwarships.eu ARP I-401".

That consumable it's necessary for BBs to survive HE spam, not so much for other classes.
-
I'd suggest you start playing DDs then and say that they are OP again once you reach higher tiers in one of the lines.

Actually the event was never supposed to end when the 12 million goal was reached, it was merely a limitation of the system they had in place to do the event. But if you look at their announcements, you will notice that they never said that the event would end when the 12m goal was reached, it merely said that it would end on the eigth of June.

Almost never use autodrop. The only time I ever use it is for cross torping DDs - from one side with auto, from the other with manual.

There is no such thing as negative Karma. For every compliment you get +1 Karma and for every report except for playing badly you get -1 Karma. However, the total Karma can't go to a value below 0.

Gonna appreciate rewards for taking, can't even count how often I've lead a successful push in my Izumo and been the only one on my side who lost more than half his HP, because 90% of randoms just stayed behind me in fear of taking damage themselves.

Could we get an official comment on whether the changes to the mods in the patch notes or on the test server are the correct ones? Currently patch notes do not match the test server.

Even if the speed was just brought to the historical value, it was a buff. And considering the way the AA system works its hardly possible for AA to be at a "historical value".
-
On the other hand no one in their right mind would say that the introduction of the 3s delay when becoming invisible was cool, but does WG care about that?
-
I know. I merely accounted for the flag to get the highest speed that any DD can achieve without the engine boost, which is 45.15kts. The engine boost would add 8% to that, which is 3.612kts, which is nowhere near the 15kts or 10kts you mentioned.
-
That seems kinda weird because the max boost was much lower anyway. Fastest ship in game is Khab with 43 knots. With the flag it's 43kts*1.05=45.15kts. 8% of that would be merely 3.612kts, much below either of those values.
-
Non-russian players being able to give their feedback to WG? This is heresy!

Why do I have to pay SERVICE PRICE in co-op?

From the patch notes: Aiming Systems Modification 1 (+20% to secondary battery maximum firing range; -20% to maximum dispersion of secondary battery shells; +20% to the torpedo tubes traverse speed; -7% to maximum dispersion of main battery shells) So you will now be able to get the old secondary upgrade COMBINED with the accuracy upgrade - no nerf whatsoever.
-
AFAIK those were submerged tubes which also were on many other ships which are already in game but won't be added to the game.
