Someone who has played with CVs will think a lot differently than someone who hasn't. When I see a BB being killed by a CV in a single strike, I think that the BB was stupid for not staying near allied ships with AA and also not maneuvering properly to dodge the torps. When someone who has never played CVs sees the same thing, he might think it's an OP [edited]player just click-deleting the BB, nothing the BB could have done about it.

Prem ships only earn more xp due to their camo, but the base xp(which determines who's first in a team) is the same as on normal ships.

Also using keyboard to select groups and never had an issue with it. The only time I use the shift button in CVs is when I want to dodge torps, but I never accidentally press it. Which is why I was kinda confused about that option being active by default when it was introduced. But I guess that's what these kind of options are for, being able to customize your gameplay a bit.

Have to say that I really don't know why they made that option as default in the first place. Were there really that many people who accidentally pressed shift?

If you would remove the stealth from DDs there wouldn't be any reason to play them whatsoever.

Of course I will still take a look at the reasoning people make, but if someone is trying to pretend he is interested in the overall balance for both sides and doesn't even really know how one works, I will dismiss that opinion. But the only way for me to truly know whether someone actually has experience in what he is talking about or is just an advocate for one side who doesn't even care about the other is to look how many battles he has in each. Just look at the earlier pages of this thread. I was arguing with someone about stealth firing. He said it would be easily possible for a DD to burn down a BB without even being seen. Yet he has no experience in gunboat DDs(except on the press account he claims to have access to but somehow can't prove that he has access to it) and can't prove his claims in any way.

Well, it's somewhat like a discussion between bicyclists and drivers and bicyclists are saying that cars should have two of their wheels removed because they can also drive with only two wheels. But no matter which analogy people here will use, I will rate the opinion of anyone who only knows one side of the coin as lesser to the opinion of someone who knows both sides of the coin.

And whenever someone runs out of arguments when arguing against CV players, the one he is arguing against is labeled as a "CV apologist". And sorry that I believe that someone who has played a certain class himself is gonna be less biased against it than someone who didn't play said class.

Then please post here with said account so we can be sure that you do indeed have access to that kind of account and do very well in DDs.

Or you just don't properly understand how the game mechanics work. Pro tip: if you want to learn how to counter something, try playing it yourself.

I would really like to see you killing a t10 BB in a t7 DD.

I'd really like to see how you get burned down by a DD in two minutes. And surely with my 893 games in BBs I will be defending DDs being able to slaughter BBs without them having any defense against it... But you with your mere 143 games in DDs are gonna be completely unbiased. And pls play some russian DDs and tell me that their main armament are torpedoes.

At mid tiers barely any DDs can fire while staying undetected without a 15 point captain, which most people don't have there. And the ones that can are mostly US DDs which have shells that are in the air for hours. But if DDs which can fire while undetected are so OP, why don't you show me a replay where you easily wreck a few BBs with that? And you are kinda contradicting yourself: So should DDs be able to counter BBs or not? In one post you say they should, in the other they shouldn't. Edit: also there are plenty of ways for BBs to deal with stealth firing DDs. 1. Ignore them because you are busy with something else and he doesn't do much damage. 2. Run away, making it pretty much impossible for him to hit you. 3. Chase him into a corner where he can't stay at a stealth-firing range anymore. Oh and did I mention that stealth firing isn't even possible in many situations for example when there is a DD between the ship that wants to stealth fire and the ship he wants to hit?

Then please tell me which DD at higher tiers can fire while staying invisible from 8-9km? Shows just how much you know about DD gameplay. And why should DDs not be able to kill BBs if BBs can kill DDs?

Regarding CAs having no countermeasures against DDs: I don't really see why they should have them. DDs need to be able to remain unseen so that there is any point in playing them. If any CA could just press a button to remove the primary defense of DDs(radar) there wouldn't really be any point in playing DDs anymore.

At the ranges where most DDs are able to fire while undetected the shells are in the air for so long that even BBs can dodge them.

Really? I am currently grinding the New Mexico and the speed really is annoying. It's a strong ship but I don't like it because it just doesn't move. And to imagine playing a ship with the same speed that sees even larger maps...
