AFAIK this happened to only 3 ships(Yubari, Sims, Atlanta), so I wouldn't count that as part of their standard operating procedure.

Irrevocable rank 12 not best solution. One more irrevocable rank REALLY needed.
Ictogan replied to albinbino's topic in General Discussion
That would mean that no stars would ever be added to the "economy" of ranked, making it incredibly difficult for even extremely good players to reach high ranks. -
It's banned totally, they just don't have a reliable way of detecting who's using it currently.

Competitive Leagues and Tournaments for EU - WoWseLeagues.com
Ictogan replied to WoWseLeagues's topic in General Discussion
I can't really see wows as a successful esport either, but not due to RNG. RNG is relatively insignificant compared to proper positioning of ships and player skill. What makes me doubt that it could be a successful esport is that a lot of people consider the rather slow gameplay of wows boring. -

Why does being in a competitive team in wows imply wanting to be a meaningful esports player? -
Actually the xp for damage is already percentage based. And yes, killing one DD can be more useful to a team than taking away 50k HP from a Yamato which he will simply heal back because fire damage - which is the only real way a t8 CA can do that much damage to a Yamato - can be healed almost completely.

Right, when Blys isn't even on sale atm...

Why is firirng with battleships feels like playing lottery?
Ictogan replied to redraven's topic in Battleships
Just checked my stats. Most of my BBs are around 30% accuracy, most of my CAs are somewhere between 30-40%. So yes, CAs will hit more often(or at least I do when I play them), but yet in any BB above t5 I have my average damage per battle is higher than the average damage per game I manage in the best cruiser I have at the same tier. And you know what? In those BBs I have plenty of salvoes where I feel like RNG is screwing me over, but I have just as many salvoes that make the enemy feel like RNG screwed them over. -
The secret was never moved, the 15m milestone was only added for technical reasons. And the secret that we got for 12m was 10 camos.

Well, x2 XP has been literally every single weekend for how long? It's not a special anymore. And only a small part of players were able to take advantage of the CV discounts.

Yep, this is blatant advertising.

Did you see me mentioning CVs in that post? If you didn't, why did you suddenly bring it up?
-
Ranked is a different story from random battles and yes, something needs to be done to make CAs more viable in ranked instead of having 2BB+1CA+4DD in your average team.

You barely have any chance with ANY afk ship.

Amagi kinda combines the strengths of the t5-7 IJN BBs. The speed from Kongo, an amount of guns close to Fuso and the guns themselves from Nagato. So in a way it feels like a big brother to any of those imo.
-
Regarding Saipan: the problem is not Saipan being better than ranger, it's just the entirety US silver CVs are crap. Regarding Tirpitz: Having played both Tirpitz and Amagi I would say they are rather balanced. Tirpitz is a very strong ship, but so are the other t8 BBs. The same doesn't apply to t8 cruisers where the Atago and Kutuzov are just blatantly OP compared to the other t8 CA/CLs or ships like Gremmy/Nikolai which are way stronger than any ships of their tier ever should be.
-
Well my favourite in that line so far is Izumo. But if I'd have to be choosing between those two, Amagi all the way. I just somewhat dislike anything that can't do more than 25kts.
-
I would say that Tirpitz and Saipan are fine. And comparing it to ranger is kinda useless as ranger is just UP.
-
Highlighted the important part. In the first league, there's almost exclusively DDs and BBs and almost no CAs.

How is a midway better at resetting a cap than a Yamato when the Yamato can shoot every 30 seconds and the midway can only attack every few minutes? And a Midway in its current state can only either shoot down planes or deal damage, depending on which setup he picked(there's also the option of failing at both with 2-1-1). Nevertheless shooting down planes is merely denying damage which a Yamato can also do by denying cruisers to be within 10km of him because they would otherwise be nuked. Additionally, a Yamato can tank a lot of damage and as a result of aforementioned capabilities lead a push which can often be a decisive factor for the outcome of a game.

Please show me your data that proves that 50% of all players are mostly destroyers.

Don't trap into the fallacy that ships are always exactly as strong as their statistics indicate.

Aim assist/bot/hack detection idea based on parts of screenshots and comparisions.
Ictogan replied to SkybuckFlying's topic in Archive
Given that sometimes shells can look like they hit ships but don't do any damage due to server desync it seems to me that at least all damage calculations are handled serverside and from what I've noticed it looks like WoWS is based on making all calculations on the server. Otherwise I think we would've seen hacks which give players lower spread and similar in game, yet there doesn't appear to be such a thing. There are many things to criticize about world of warships, but the "never trust the client" structure it seems to be built on is the best possible protection against hacks and much better than games which trust the client in terms of things like ship position or damage calculations. -
For me fighting a t10 BB or CA in my Amagi or Tirpitz is much, much easier than fighting any non-DD t10 ship in my Shokaku.

CVs get less XP for doing the same amount of work as other ships AFAIK. And I can agree that shooting down planes isn't fun - the AA system is the primary point of interaction between carriers and surface ships. And it's designed from ground up in a way that's neither fun for CVs nor other ships. Buffing AA isn't a solution for that, the entire AA system needs to be rebuilt from scratch.
