Izumo is a great ship. -
A DD would rarely pose a real threat to a cruiser or battleship IRL. However in game all classes are balanced to be equally powerful.

Actually the shell arcs on the Sims weren't nerfed, but most ships got their maneuverability buffed, so they could dodge easier, making it seem as if the shell arcs were nerfed. Same for Atlanta.

1) I don't think anyone ever learned how to use HE or AP on a t1. 2) I don't think a ship that you only need to play a handful of battles in will make people avoid a line. -

Why do you even care about a t1 ship? -
It is actually possible to survive a ram and there's even a medal for killing an enemy by ramming and surviving. From my experience, the damage done by ramming will usually be around the maximum HP of the ship with less HP, but ramming at very low speeds seems to do less damage.

WG theoretically has the right to nerf premiums, but they don't do so(look at Imperator Nikolai, which is broken OP).

Tirpitz is a great ship and any buffs would make it OP. -
I would assume they simply didn't mention it because it's not newly added, not because it's not being tested anymore.

Looking at my stats it does seem like the hits I get do damage. And while my play style with USN DDs, which is centered around smoke-based HE and torp spam, might seem boring, it still includes a lot of DD vs DD action and has its own unique challenges like figuring out where to put your smoke, making sure allies still spot the enemies you're firing at and in-smoke torpedobeats.

You are assuming I'm always shooting at BBs/CAs from invisifiring ranges, but very often I get a lot closer and use the amazing US smoke to its full extent.

Actually 1 torp was under most circumstances not enough to sink a battleship. Although it depended strongly on the explosive charge of the torp, the loation where the torp detonated, the torpedo defense system in place and the damage control measures taken.

Of course often you won't be able to influence the outcome every battle, but over time there's gonna be a lot of battles where you can actually make the difference. And when looking at a sample size of over 1000 battles where the ONLY thing that is constant is the player who's stats you're looking at, those win rates are actually important.

Win rate is actually the only really important stat over a sufficiently large sample size, as sometimes killing a 1k HP DD can be more important than doing 30k damage to a full health BB. Win rate reflects these situations, none of the other stats do. That being said, only solo win rate is really a valid way to judge a player as win rate including divisions will be heavily effected by how often the player plays in divisions and how good the division members are.

IMO the higher fire resistance is all the more reason to use DE. It buffs your fire chances from kinda bad to good enough. And US DDs becoming better torp boats at high tiers is a further help for this as torps do not only cause damage, but also floodings which are often immediately repaired and thus enabling you to set some full-duration fires. With DE USN DDs can still gun down IJN DDs pretty well and if they have any sort of starting advantage they can easily win against other gunboats with SE. It's not too difficult to get hit rates of ~50% in US DDs and in fact I do have such hit rates. So your 20 hits out of 90 is kinda BS. And that being said, Benson/Fletcher have a firing rate of 100 RPM combined with BFT or for Fletcher 112 RPM with main battery mod 2, so even assuming 90 rounds a minute is flawed.

Actually capping only goes faster up to 3 ships in cap, so any more ships than that are indeed completely useless. -

I'm under the impression that the 3s delay to getting invisible was removed, but I will have to confirm this when the training room mod works again. -

Those caps just caused way more ships than were needed to rush into them at the beginning of the match to get that free XP. Luckily this is gone now. -
Fletcher has quite a few advantages over the Benson: - Better torps - AA consumable without giving up a gun for it - 3m module, which means you can choose between having torpedoes reload relatively quick or buffing your main battery reload time from ridiculous to ludicrous.

All I can say is that I consider Izumo to be a great ship.

If you play Sims and rely on the torps for damage you're doing it wrong. It's a great ship if played well.
