Easy to explain with a BB. A mediocre player will eat torpedos and citadels, reducing the total healing he can do massively. Good players will take penetrations and fire at best (generally speaking, even a good player will eat a torpedo here and there of course). So the good players will be able to repair more. So a mediocre player might be dead already when his 4th or 5th repair comes up or have no repairable HP anymore due to torpedos/citadels.

Well, my point here was not that bomber > fighter. But bomber >>> fighter. What I mean - the stats aren't like 55% winrate with bomber setup, 45% with fighter, which would be smashing already. They are ranging from ungodly 70% to 30% depending on setup, even on average the difference is still enormous. I doubt that any consideration of past patches or w/e can offset that difference. As for plane kills being a bad statistic, I know. I'm not saying they are essential for fighter setup. Unlike average damage for bomber setups (but even here, if you go for DDs you will win more, but have lower damage). The thing is, there is no other statistic by which you could really get a nice chunk of fighter setup CVs. I bet all players in the list I posted played fighter setup. What other statistic would you arrange the table by to get that kind of accuracy?

Given how much work modelling and texturing is, let alone animations, it's no surprise that's the case.

Premium Account and Essex Lottery Ticket. Look at my ships and how much I played what ship. How can I not join that lottery? [Profile] -
A thread about bragging? How can I not answer? I sadly don't have screenshots of my world record game in my Hakuryu, but I have some of a similar game (still above all other Hakuryu games). Luckily I even have more screenshots than usual of that one. This was before the game - I was already forming a tent with my hands and said: "Excellent" And then, about 15 minutes later: 374195 damage total. My best in the Hakuryu was 382k. Still not beaten (come on Asia, what you doing?)

IMO this discussion is pointless because it's not a matter of opinion. It's basic math. WG makes you pay a flat number every game for ship repair and ammo. Credits are also a flat number, depending on your damage. However, if you're using a premium account, you get a percentage increase, while the repair stays the same. What this means is that you get a lot more credits. It's not easy to understand that in theory, so here an example: Your ship costs 50.000 credits per game on average. You make 150.000 credits per game on average. Meaning you're left with 100.000 credits. Now with premium account: Your ship still costs 50.000 credits per game on average. You make 225.000 credits per game on average. (+50% from premium) Meaning you're left with 175.000 credits. While premium gives you 50% more credits, it effectively gives you 75% more credits in this example. The higher the repair cost of the ship, the stronger this effect, so for higher tiers a premium account is super efficient. Now what does this all have to do with premium consumables? Pretty simple. If you're a mediocre or - god forbid - under average player the gap between repair cost and credit gain will shrink. While the gains through the consumables are negliable. Example time again: Let's say a good player has an effectiveness of 10 (random number I picked). And a mediocre player has one of 5. If premium consumables increase the effectiveness by 10%, it will give the good player +1 and the mediocre player +0.5. On the credit side, it will barely hurt the good player, because the gap between repair cost and credit gain is huge. 50.000 Repair cost 300.000 Credit income -> 250.000 Credits without premium consumables -> 205.000 Credits with 2 premium consumables, barely 20% less credits. The mediocre player will be significantly impacted by it though. 50.000 Repair cost 150.000 Credit income -> 100.000 Credits without premium consumables -> 55.000 Credits with 2 premium consumables, nearly 50% reduction in credits. That's why premium consumables are not effective for mediocre players. You gain little and pay a lot. But if you're a good player they will barely cost you for a rather large gain. I really do hope some people will read this post an re-evaluate wether a premium account is necessary for them or if premium consumables are a good option. Generally though, if you're using a premium account you can just as well use premium consumables, because the account will bump your credit gains to that of a good player.

Yeah, BBs with their retarded expectations. "If I press D, the carrier shouldn't be able to deal any damage to me! Even if I started turning only after I saw torps coming my way!" If you're alone and in a BB with bad AA you are "broadsiding" the CV. Then you expect to take no damage or low damage? Please, cry me a river. The 100% proof that everything is fine - I know exactly how CV is played and I have no trouble whatsoever facing a CV, not even one that is a higher tier. I win games by letting the CV focus me and do minimal damage, negating him while still doing my part as a BB. So everyone who is whining about manual drops or whatever just hasn't played CV at all or not enough to really understand them.

Which forum members have you seen in random battles?

Nono, he was in my team. Azalgor and me together kinda ****ed the enemy team hard. -

Just saw Azalgor in his Hakuryu. I was in my Taiho. There isn't even the question what team won. (Even though Azalgor was pink =P) And he refused to acknowledge me in the game >_> -
POLL: Which ships are you waiting for the most?
Syrchalis replied to 1MajorKoenig's topic in General Discussion
Ship I'm waiting for: Ark Royal Ship Line I'm waiting for: British CVs But boy is the poll biased. No CVs mentioned at all except "any CV line"? We must be quite the non-existent playerbase apparently. -
BB-Heavy games are actually nothing that is related to MM being drunk. At first release of the Tirpitz 75% of the high tier games were nearly only BBs. It happens if there is lots of BBs and little of the other ships. By now that rarely happens though, because there isn't so much more BBs than other classes. Before Mirror Matchmaking and when CVs still got the same XP/Credits as other ships (and not a heavy penalty in all cases): Then came mirror matchmaking and infinite wait times - and this isn't even T10!

Impossible to hit or citadel if angled even a tiny bit. Strong AA. Super strong HE with very high base damage (try shooting BBs with Mogami 155" guns after the nerf - no damage on BBs whatsoever) - russians deal 4-6k easily with HE. Insanely high fire chance (port SAYS xx%, but it's probably double that, because IJN/US that have higher chance dont set me on fire nearly as much). AP shells can penetrate a Tirpitz from the front no problem, while BB shells can't. Moskva has 25k more hp than Zao. It's in all terms better than any other T10 cruiser, downside to "balance" that is 18km detectablity only.
-
Russian Cruisers are OP as hell, but we all know that this isn't officially the case nor will they get any changes.
-
That's why not even pape who abused the fact CVs leveled faster than anything else and got into real unfair matches because of that (plus there was no mirror matchmaking) has more than 85% - plus he is always in a 3man division with his personal cruiser slaves that protected him from any CV (which was basically the only threat to a CV back then). I play less than 20% in division, and I can't remember the last time I was in one with a player with more than 55% winrate. Still I have 62% overall winrate and on my T8+ ships it's generally even higher. Just my fletcher has bad WR because I suck at DDs and not many games played. Look at my ARP Kongo stats, those are all "fresh". It's just a T5 BB, but I only played it after I became actually acceptable at the game.
-
Please stop hating on people for playing PvE. That's really low TBH.
-
And why can you avoid a DD? Because you can see the DD? They have 5.4km concealment. Some of them. Planes are always visible from 8km and don't have smokescreen. So don't give me that load of crap. You just are too lazy to click the planes to focus your AA and turn before it's too late.
-
No, the amount of people with 2k+ battles and below average winrate is not that low. It wouldn't help. Plus, as long as you can simply buy yourself a high tier ship it doesn't matter anyway.
-
I've had that often too. Sometimes I manage to run and once I have 8 kills I usually simply force-won by damage, but that's not always possible. It's a small line between simply carrying so hard your team can be a bunch of AFK bots that shoot each other and it just not being enough. Defeat: http://imgur.com/a/QLBw5 330k damage TBH - it still baffles me how my team lost this one. Victories: http://imgur.com/a/Xuz0v
-
Really? This again? I mean I play BB too and I win literally 1 out of 10 games, simply because the enemy CV tries to focus me at all costs (they have XVM? idk why?) and they fail hard at doing so. If you dodge after the torps hit the water you might as well try dodging a DD torpedo salvo from a DD that is 0.6km away. YOU AREN'T SUPPOSED TO. You dodge long before that. Also why is the english of the people complaining about this always that bad? I'm not a native speaker either, but I manage.

I always love posting the same image in these kinds of threads: None are staged, those were normal random battles. First was after the CV hard-force mirror patch. Second was before that.

ATTN: Hanszeehock - I have the matchmaker stats that you requested on a previous thread
Syrchalis replied to Admiral_H_Nelson's topic in General Discussion
It's hard to compare us, because tier is not that relevant to me in battles. Sure, sometimes you're at a disadvantage because you can't get through thick armor or your armor doesn't bounce the high caliber shells (etc.) but in general it comes down to skill difference. If it's large enough, you can win against higher tiers or numbers. -

Syrchalis replied to Admiral_H_Nelson's topic in General Discussion
Battles that go only over 2 tiers are rare. It's nearly always 3 tiers. T4/5 battles happen a bit more often, because that's where the majority of players is. -
IMO Any lone ship should be completely helpless against a CV with no chance whatsoever. With so many tools to ruin a CVs day (float planes that stay in the air forever and have millions of HP, AA barrage, just being not goddamn solo) and now with long range AA being the main damage source it's really hard to even expose yourself to a CV. Then some ships, like the North Carolina are just immune to CV attacks at the last hull - if the CV isn't a higher tier. "Designating a target" for your AA to focus is hardly enough to warrant the amount of defense this one click grants. T6-8 AA is definitely off the charts and should get reduced massively all across the board. Cruisers can keep it, because they need it and this provides counterplay that at least needs some effort put in. But the fact LONE DDs with AA consumable and LONE BBs without any active ability can wipe squads out of the air like it's a Langley attacking a Montana/Midway convoy is just wrong.

This is obvious and cannot even be any other way. There is only three cases - let's say for example you play a T5 ship. Case 1 - you end up in a T3-5 battle. There you are top tier. Case 2 - you end up in a T4-6 battle. Here you're middle tier. Case 3 - you end up in a T5-7 battle. Here you're bottom tier. This is true for all tiers, except 1-3 that have a smaller split. So you can only realistically expect to be top tier in 33,3% of the games.
