    Comprehensive List of Design Flaws

You interpreted the post to suit your little war against me, but that's not what I wrote. What I wrote is that things revolving around CV gameplay have to change, not that CVs need a buff. The only thing in that regard is that AA needs a nerf. BBs need consistency BADLY. Reducing their citadel damage, but making overpens to citadels deal normal damage would do just that. It would be a huge buff for cruisers that know how to play.
  2. I would totally love if they made citadel overpens deal 50-100% of the citadel damage, but nerfed BB citadel damage across the board by 30-50%. It's retarded enough when playing cruiser that a random shell hitting you while you're perfectly angled does 50% of your HP, just because due to your angling the shell did not OVERPENETRATE your citadel and just regularly penetrated it. If you were a dumb idiot and would broadside, the shell would just overpen your citadel and you wouldn't get damaged really. So playing bad = gets rewarded. Sadly it doesn't ALWAYS work that way or broadsiding would be the smart thing to do, in which case it would be playing well again. What I'm saying - if you broadside you are dumb and should get punished, but that only happens sometimes because of citadel overpens. If you angle and are a smart/good player you should get rewarded, so your citadel should be save, except if enemy has an insane caliber (e.g. Yamato - or T5 cruiser versus 410mm guns of Nagato) - but no, due to the armor system you still get citadelled. Meaning that there is no "playing well" as a cruiser, there is just random luck. If citadel damage got nerfed hard (50% for example) but citadel overpens would deal max damage, then this bad situation would become a lot better. If you broadside like a noob, you get citadelled like crazy, because citadel overpens do same damage as citadel hits. But if you angle, you might still get citadelled (since there is no change to armor system) - but that citadel wouldn't cripple you by taking 40-50% of your HP, instead it would take 20% and you could totally keep going. In other words -> playing bad, you get rekt, BBs get rewarded - playing well, you aren't immune to BB shells, but you have a much better chance at staying alive and random citadel hits won't just nuke you out of the water.
  3. Also there is no irrevocable rank beyond rank 12, which will help with potatos advancing too fast.

    Defensive AA fire change

    1. Cruiser secondaries barely make up 1% of cruiser damage. 2. For it to be useful it would need to boost accuracy, fire rate and damage by like 200%. 3. The whole point of having to choose between AA consumable and hydro is that you need to specialize - if AA consumable gave you a secondaries boost it would cover so many areas of the game that no cruiser would ever pick hydro. And hydro is already bad as it is.

    Help with Essex

The only advantage it has is it can snipe the Taiho while the Taiho can't snipe the Essex. AA consumable doesn't affect US bombers that much, so you can still hit with them. But it's not very effective as tactic.

    CV discount action this weekend

Really? Saipan is harder to do okay in than with other CVs, plus you really need a 15 point captain. But generally speaking it's not worse in any way.

BB gun locking up not turning at all.

To put it more simply. If you turn your ship to the left, your guns need to turn to the right to stay on target. If your target also moves to the right, they have to compensate for your own turning and for the enemy target moving, which can be way too fast for most BB guns. For example the Warspite has VERY slow turning turrets with 72sec/180° - and at the same time it's probably the fastest turning battleship in the game. So if you shift your rudder fully to one side your guns will actually not even be able to stay on target, because the ship turns faster than your guns. About half the BBs are affected by this. The rest have faster turning guns.

    Defensive AA fire change

You realize you just contractdicted yourself? "It removes choice because cruisers have to CHOOSE." It's good that way. As for the wall of text up there - [edited]. Be with BB, press T when bombers come. There is no choice. What you're talking about is idiots not using it properly. But that's not a choice, that's a calculation. Positioning and who to be with is something unrelated to the ability. Imagine they had a different AA ability (it doesn't matter how it works) - they would still choose to be with ship XYZ or lolwtf in a corner - the ability has no impact on that. Also there is no cruiser that has secondaries that are even worth mentioning.

    Help with Essex

The Essex is by far my most played and beloved ship. But after the removed the 1/2/2 layout I don't touch it anymore. The 1/1/3 isn't bad, but it holds no merit against a 2/3/2 Taiho, which is basically the most perfect Layout you can hope for.
  10. The only reason the Fuso even got XP is because it stole the Ranger kill at the very end from me.
  11. How to win ranked as CV: Cap 2/3 caps, destroy all enemy planes, deal 150k damage.(The Fuso was sniping and hiding all game, it did literally nothing at all)

    CV discount action this weekend

I've lost 1 star in my like 30 ranked battles this season. I didn't win 29 games though, not even close. Just wish the discount would be useful for me. But most CVs aren't worth having. Everything under T7 is a struggle to play, because either no reserve and slow planes or CLEVELANDS. T7 is a struggle because Hiryu has T6 planes, wtf? Ranger is meh. T8 is horrible (just my opinion tho) - because AA on BBs is way too strong on T9, also you get into T9/10 battles were BBs are essentialy 5 clevelands stacked in each other, plus german/US cruisers that press T and you lose all planes instantly. Leaves T9/10 - those are in my harbor anyway.

    Defensive AA fire change

It's not a symptom, it's the cause. CVs not being around is a symptom of this ability. It's OP as hell on a lot of ships. Every US ship (including and especially Atlanta), every german cruiser above T7, Kutuzov and lots of other russian cruisers - they immediately evaporate any plane within a 7km radius before it even can think about dropping anything. And that's those cruisers solo. Add the over-the-top AA of most BBs to it and you will never see a single point of damage. The only reason CVs still deal damage is because BBs drive alone all day and DD sniping is really good if you want to win. The worst part about the consumable is that the worst potato idiot cruiser will still hard-counter the best CV player in the world, with zero counterplay. There is no interaction, no choices. Bombers incoming? -> AA conumsable. No choice, just a calculation. Not using it would be dumb. For the CV it's the same. Doesn't matter what he does, the cruiser and a huge area around him is safe for 40sec. I'm not saying nerf it, but replace it with something that is more skill-based and has actual interaction between cruisers and CVs. It's like smoke screen, just it also works while moving without the DD showing occassionally and sonar/radar doesn't exist.

    CV discount action this weekend

Just a note for anyone considering to buy Saipan for ranked. If you aren't really good at CVs, you won't have much success with Saipan either. It's more skill-heavy than other T7 CVs even.

    CV discount action this weekend

So basically a discount for noone.
  16. Syrchalis

    Defensive AA fire change

No, it should be 100% useless. This way not every cruiser has this cancer of an ability all the time. The more CVs disappear the less cruisers will have it, which will in turn make the game a whole lot better - at least until WG changes it from the pathetic and insulting state it is in.
  17. Proof of what I was saying. Plus @Kazomir, he has 0 CV games.
  18. You kidding? Don't you read all the whining about torpedos and CVs? Apparently pressing A or D is too difficult and complex for the easy single-task classes. So yes, pressing W is also too difficult and complex for the most difficult, least played class.
  19. Good CV players are constantly moving anyway, so this change would do nothing but make CVs more complex for mediocre players and even more impossible to play for bad players.

    Patch 0.5.7 postponed to 23/06

It's the same when I see some stupid cruiser broadsiding, shoot at it from 12km and only score a few overpens because RNG said 'yeah no, you can't punish him, because hurr durr RNG balance'. WG is simply lazy. RNG makes it real easy to balance the game, especially with the non-skill based matchmaking. If this game was skill-focused, like League of Legends for example, then good players would completely obliterate bad players. Right now they do win more and generally beat bad players, but it's not nearly to the degree it is in more skill-based games. So in other words it's also a bit necessary. As for the topic - boring patch, no CV improvements, no CV nerfs/buffs, so kinda worthless to me. Still waiting for WG to nerf CVs to unplayability (we are close) or finally buff the fun/counterplay for them. Kind of sick of potato cruisers ruining my day because they just have to press 1 button and no matter how good I am I can't do anything about it.

    CVs in every game

Before they nerf the difficulty of CVs they should make it more pleasant to play, because right now it's just anger followed by anger. 1. UI is really really REALLY bad. I made a post a year ago and they improved nothing but 1 thing - from like 20. 2. Gameplay is similarly bad. You get 1 meter too close to an AA cruiser = instant lose all planes. You click once wrong, lose half your ammo (fighters) and lose air fight or you lost a quarter of your damage that you could have done in the game (bombers). 3. Skill/Power Ratio. CV scales very hard with skill. Bad players are basically worthless (they don't even soak up damage like bad BBs) and good players can carry hard. Meanwhile the cruisers can be total potatos or masters of the game, their AA skill is always the same. So even the dumbest potato can ruin your day, no matter how good you are. This is very infuriating for good CV as well as good CA players - but more for CV players because of how ridic strong the CA consumable is. If it was ridic weak then it would be reversed. Especially point 3 is relevant because it makes CVs so unpopular with those who do not play them. Manual drop is actually great, because it takes skill to avoid those and also skill to do them. I wouldn't remove something that is great on both sides. I would rather focus on things that are lame on both sides, like AA. Fully automatic and boring - no skill on the non-CV side and no choice on the CV side (avoid at all costs... no choice to be made).

The state of the game after 1 year

The interface for everyone but CV players. We still struggle with this dumb alpha state crap they call a UI. It's impossible to really enjoy the game when any UI element blocks your commands. The only thing they did after a year is remove the beyond-stupid cinematic mode of planes and your ship by pressing SHIFT - no more screwing up your camera by just wanting to group planes.

    World Of Battleships

AA level of BBs was buffed beyond anything remotely balanced. Basically a US BB could 1vs1 any CV at any distance because the CV would run out of planes before the US BB would die. DDs rely on others being stupid to hit torpedos. So if a BB is smart it won't get hit by a DD. A CV could capitalize more easily on mistakes, so even good players could get hit sometimes. With CVs out of the picture, I really enjoy stomping everything in BB.

What class is the hardest to play well

I would say CA are by far the easiest, because there is just a few ground rules to memorize and even if not following them you can be successful. Then comes DD - it's hard being patient, but your value goes up a lot with every minute and every ship dead on either side. You are a glass cannon. The reason DDs aren't really hard is because you can be as good as you want, if the enemy is smart enough to dodge your torpedos you're screwed, because you can't do anything about it. If you're in a russian DD... then yeah, is a small cruiser basically. BBs are "somewhat" hard, because you have to plan ahead a lot. You can roflstomp EVERYTHING with ease - you just need to play it correctly, yet that's exactly the challenge, because there is so many situations and doing the one thing that will lead to success... that's hard to learn. I would say CVs are at first easier than BBs, because you have so few planes to manage, they are slow and not much can happen. The higher you go the steeper the curve gets. Hakuryu is the single most difficult ship in the game with 8 plane squads to manage. The optimal tactic is to play with 4 fighters, meaning insane APM and macro/mirco requirements. So generally, the higher you go the harder CVs get. In mid tier BBs are most difficult, because your disadvantages are amplified there while your strengths aren't fully developed.
