    Cheers, and I always go over the full ship setups in my commentaries, did you check the end of the vid to make sure you also run the same upgrades and captain perks as I do? Namely the two that increase concealment, lowering the Zao concealment to 9.7km. There's a lot more to the build than just running the camo and increased range ;)

    I haven't done a Myoko guide no, but I have done one for the Ibuki, which plays very similarly (just at a much harder MM). Might be helpful?
  4. A common theme on this forum as well as on reddit seems to be the constant hatred for the Kagero. I personally disagree with it and consider the ship to be very strong. The ship is truly a ghost at high tiers, one of the best point contestors in the entire game, always forcing the enemy DD to expose itself to push you out of a cap point. That is without a doubt its strength, but for some reason very few people seem to use that strength.
  5. Aye, but but scout planes are a completely different thing than actual carrier planes. Also I think everyone knows about the captain perks being used to improve both AA and main guns. I have played the Fletcher, don't have one anymore since I got the Gearing but I do remember how pitiful the AA was against equal level carrier planes.
  6. Very good points. As I mention in the vid, if it comes to any sort of drawn out equal 1v1 between a Kagero and a Fletcher then the Fletcher will always come out victorious provided player skill is somewhat equal. Kagero can't compete with the rate of fire of a Fletcher, nor the turret traverse time if it turns into a brawl. Obviously one should make sure to not end up in this situation. As for AA capabilities, I partially agree. The Fletcher would be in a better position if the carrier actually attacked him, as he has access to Defensive AA, but when it comes to being scouted there is little he can do to prevent it. There is little any DD can do actually, their AA is so weak compared to the massive health pools of T9/T10 planes, making it nigh impossible to prevent permaspotting. Sure, you will eventually shoot down the planes, but usually this takes far too long to be relevant.
  7. Aye, the Fletcher is no doubt a great ship as well, but the torps on that ship pale in comparison to the Kagero's simply because of the range. The difference is I've never seen anyone call the Fletcher weak, in fact most people tend to make it out as some far superior ship to the Kagero, while the truth is pretty far from it. The Kagero exchanges all that firepower for the great torps and great concealment, people just need to learn to make use of it. Also on non-domination maps the short range on Fletcher torps really hurts it if it's forced to go up against the Kagero, as it has to push up far closer to the enemy fleet than the Kagero does, often resulting in the Fletcher being detected early or being forced to launch torps at screening cruisers instead. tl;dr the Kagero is not as inferior to the Fletcher as people make it out to be, much of it is very situational. Oh and mentioning that Fubuki concealment is a bit questionable, considering it's almost impossible to get the T5 perk on the captain on a T8 ship unless you're switching captains around or have been grinding it for a long time past the point where you unlock the next ship.

    There is no longer any point of playing the Gearing instead of the Shimakaze with 0.5.1 out. If their hotfix doesn't fix the terrible HE damage then probably one of the rarest ships in the game will completely disappear.

  10. I think it's more hilarious how many people have voted yes. T9/T10 CVs have long dominated the game and enjoyed complete godmode, yet apparently 75% of the people in this forum think they need even more buffs. I have never seen people so out of touch with the other classes in the game.
  11. Yep I do play CVs. GerryHYH did 122k avg damage (62% WR) on the Essex, I do 153k avg dmg (69% WR). So based on your logic you should automatically believe in my opinion more because I clearly know better. Great argument though!
  12. Haha, carriers keep talking about how people should use teamplay to counter them. Meanwhile you get threads like these where they want to be able to defend themselves without said teamplay. Just turn into the torps and stay next to cruisers guys, that's what you tell everyone else?
  13. Edit: ah they've changed the tashkent, when I looked at it a while ago it lost in both DPM and range to the kiev, now it just loses in range.
  14. I'm personally a bit surprised they put Kiev as T7 and Tashkent as T8 instead of the other way around.

  16. You are blindly staring at stats, ignoring how the ships play. Stat wise the furutaka is a joke, but actually playing it with AP it simply murders other cruisers. http://gfycat.com/SecondhandTerribleBrant Honestly, looking at your profile it's obvious the main problem is between the keyboard and the chair, not in the game itself.

  18. It's a good thing 0.4.1 came out so players can now more evenly fight higher tier CVs. Kappa.
  19. Clearly this is perfectly balanced, the so called "AA BB" should get oneshot by a CV one tier lower, missing half his upgrades. Carry on.
  20. I have done that before. People told me to turn towards the torps, like it would make some groundbreaking change. In response I posted this Essex vid where he turns towards them. As I've said before, without Defensive Fire active on a nearby cruiser you might as well be lobbing rocks at the planes.
  21. Just speaking from experience playing against them and playing as one. On my Lexington I averaged 74k damage. On my Essex I average 146k damage and it's not even fully upgraded yet. I know I didn't magically turn into a twice as good player overnight, it's just the ship that's blatantly overpowered. You guys can argue you all you like, but having played a T9 CV myself now it's absolutely blatantly obvious how broken it is and I can't help but shrug my head at how deeply you have to be in denial to even argue against that.
  22. Ah, it includes T7 and T8, no wonder then. Makes the stats absolutely pointless since CVs turn to godmode at T9. Extra TB squad for US CVs and the dumb +15% attacking aircraft upgrade.
  23. The stats sharana posted looks like a bunch of nonsense to me, what are the so called 'higher tiers' in that list? I average 146k damage on my Essex and it isn't even fully upgraded yet, and there's no way I'm 3x better than the average. Looks like T5 stats to me.
  24. Huh? Which BB could possibly dodge and shoot down my planes? Montana has the best AA of them all and they are just as clunky as it is. All my planes getting shot down by a BB? I don't even know how I'd intentionally manage to achieve that, let alone accidentally.
  25. What prowess?? Literally anyone can do this on a high tier CV, there is almost no skill involved, which is the very problem.
