    Bug Reports

    Blame WG ignorance. It may be a SHOAL or something like that. It's when the sand is near the water line but doesn't reach it. Somehow WG calls a SANDBANK. As it's really hard to trust anything WG says these days, the definition of a sandbank is when sand reaches the waterline and it's visible. When it's not visible, it's not called a sandbank. It's just WG in it's immense wizdom that likes to induce players in error. Just by reading the patch notes you can see that. Cheers

    This patch notes were just a huge prank on players, right? You introduce such nice changes as new maps new options... than you blew it all up trying to deceive players with dubious info, errors, omissions, taking advantage of convenient bugs to call it "changes". I mean, WG turned this patch into a giant joke. How much time did it took you to find the placements for new AA on German ships? 1 minute? How can you release false info on IJN DDs? Why do you hide so many changes? Why not mentioning the stupid consequences of some of the changes? Why saying free redistribution of skills and then zip? This is no patch notes. This is just desinformation. Keeping "radio silence" like WG is doing now only adds to the mess they have done with this patch.

    I think it's just delusional that WG went full greed mode and buffed USN and RUS high tier DDs AA. It's another step in helping CVs to detect IJN DDs for like 10 minutes. It's just another nail in IJN DDs coffin. Jeez just look at how much they want you to spend doubloons. The greed in this patch is real.

    I got here by mistake. I thought "the other changes" were the ones WG omitted from patch notes. Or the changes that didn't happened. Or the ridiculous changes to German ships. Or the circus around the IJN changes in those same ridiculous patch notes. What the hell are you doing WG? Is this greed taking over or what?

    WG is kind of delusional about this. They even buffed AA in other top tier DDs while nerfing IJN. They really want those CVs chasing your IJN DD for 10 minutes. Buffing other DDs AA was another step towards more profit for them. They REALLY WANT YOU TO SPEND MONEY grinding other nations. The patch notes were the biggest joke i've seen so far, completely messed up, full of errors and omissions.

    WG is nerfing anything that can affect BB noobs. After all WG always obeys BB captains. One of these days BBs will have torpedoes, smoke, radar, squadrons of planes, auto firing, auto aim auto rudder, indetectable at any range and 500K HP. Thats what BB captains want. They already got Torpedoes and are OP at everything. Why not just turn BBs into 100% automatic ships? With each nerf WG applies to other ships, BB captains get a little bit more noob than they were. I have never seen so many noob BB captains in high tiers as i see now. All thanks to nerfs to other ships. After all BB captains think they should start and finish the battle with near 100% HP firing at 30km range, not contributing to the battle. If Shimakaze was a Premium ship, WG would be saying torpedo walls are so positive to the game bla bla bla If you are expecting good decision making from WG, forget it. Greed just took over.

    WG said a while ago that they would make MM better so you "don't get too much bad MM". Do you know what they did? Well according to them, you will always have a good MM, at least, every 5 battles. This means you can have aweful MM during 4 battles but every fifth battle you are guaranteed to have good MM. This was one of the biggest jokes WG told and people bought it. What happens in reality is that if you are doing well in a ship, they will start to match you during 4 battles against 2 tiers higher than you and in the fifth battle you will have good MM. WG will do this untill you start to play like crap (it will happen) then they will slowly match you again in decent tiers. So they just keep you average, no matter how good you play. How the hell is it possible that like 99% of players have WR between 50% and 60% ??? The others, with great winrates, you only see them here saying great stuff about WG... Then there's the RNG "trains". Every time you start playing, you are put in a train. There's like 3 trains. The "losing train", the "neutral train" and the "good train". You are put in a train according to your "behaviour" in battle (and in foruns i guess). They will prevent you from having good stats, that's reserved for players (that "know how to behave") with granted good RNG... and some Youtubers. I have a pretty good example. I usually go seal clubbing with a Isokaze to pay tier X ships so i know it very well. I have 62% (now 60%...) since forever in that ship. No matter how good i play with it (i do play very well with that ship) i'm stuck at 60% (yes i went down 2% getting krakens every other battle). That's how it works. I never get to hit citadels with my ships like i see some youtubers do, and they are not leading better than i do nor they are playing better. I bet you gonna have even worse RNG now. You know, what you post seems to have some type of effect on the quality of your RNG so expect some rough times like i'm having. Ofcourse this is all crap talk for WG since we are just an ID number in a database that sometimes send money to them. Nothing more.
  10. So everybody seems to forget (well i got the experience) how OP secondaries are in hight tier BBs, more in Yamatos and Izumos. So you can have 100 rate AA with Yamato and still use all secondary gun perks (Izumo as well, USN BBs don't seem to take as much advantage of this). This will give you more than 10km range secondaries (!!??) firing with -90% or -80% dispersion (what??) with +20% effectiveness (what??). Basically, if you get closer than 10km to a Yamato or a Izumo or even a Iowa, it's secondaries will open on you with amazing accuracy (i was obliterated in a Shimakaze at 7km in a few seconds) and destroy you so fast you won't even have time to manouver to launch torpedoes. That's one of the many "skills" BB players "need" to counter other ships. Mouse click on DD and it's gone, you don't even have to worry. Come on, in test server i destroyed CAs without even aiming at them, just by clicking in it. Let alone DDs... That's the kind of things you don't listen from BB captains. Basically, there's a few premium BBs that are more important to WG than gameplay so BB captains will eventually find a way of having everything "auto". Ah the guy in a Yamato that obliterated my Shimakaze without the need for any type of skill whatsoever, he just continued his straight line, without having to worry about firing a single shell at me. WG is trying to ruin the game really hard, believe me, if Shimakaze was a Premium Ship, WG would be finding excuses to why torpedo walls "are so positive for gameplay". A nice patch ruined by some of the worst decision making i've seen in this game.

    Fubuki, Kagero, Shimakaze The range of the torpedoes was generally reduced. To prevent the "torpedo spam" situations in battles and encourage players who prefer high-tier Japanese destroyers to switch to a more aggressive gameplay style, we also removed some torpedo types, whose range was excessive, from the modules available for these destroyers. Fubuki: Type 90 mod 1 torpedoes were removed Kagero: Type 93 mod 1 torpedoes were removed Shimakaze: Type 93 mod 1 torpedoes were removed The research and purchase costs for the remaining torpedo types were adjusted to keep the total cost in XP and credits unchanged. Players will receive compensation for the removed torpedo types So in patch notes there were no reference to IJN DD changes. Suddenly there's a reference to a nerf in these DDs Shortly after a dev in Q&A said it was wrong, that "somehow that text found it's way into the patch notes" when it shouldn't. This is great, either Siri imagined that text and published it in patch notes or that text is written somewhere else... right? Most probably in Future Plans ;) - well you can do whatever the hell you want with those torps anyway Now game is updated to 5.6, in patch notes says i dont have Type 93 mod 1 so i must be seeing things. An absolute mess. First you nerf Shimakazes and say it's to make captains play in a more aggressive way then you say "It worked!". Sure thing i even understand that, as a business, WG would never admit it and say "We nerfed the hell out of Shimakaze to make it less interesting." It's also very convenient to make players grind other DD nations. So basically WG makes a profit out of the doubloons players pay to grind other ships. If you don't grind to other ships, you have a Shimakaze that suddenly it's much more expensive to "maintain". It's an always win situation. They managed to control excess Shimakazes, therefore the "torpedo walls" while at the same time force you to grind other nations. There was a better way, fixing MM and making other ships more appealing but this way would only take time and resources, and more important it wouldn't bring any kind of profit. (so they think...) Now WG (even knowing that spotting IJN DDs for 10 min is the new big thing in CV playing), decides to buff AA of other nations top tier DDs. This is amazing but as amazing as it is, it only serves to prove my point. Another final sign of of how much WG doesn't want you to play Shimakaze is this comical patch notes: For all Commanders who have specialisation in the affected ships, players will have the possibility to redistribute skill points of such Commanders for free This sentence is in reference to ships that were BUFFED! When WG completely trashes out every high tier IJN DD possible configuration, they just say... well they say nothing or they say that "saved audio file" that says "We wanted players to play more aggressive blah blah blah", That's how WG works, if you get buffed you get free redistribution of skills, if you get nerfed and happen to be a IJN DD you get... well you get the possibility of paying some more doubloons to grind to those AA buffed shiny DDs. This is just another sign they really want you to stop playing that ship. What a mess. This will probably be deleted but really, WG decision making is very frustrating and sometimes it's not really on the interest of players.

    Shimakaze is completely broken. I tried all possible configs and you either go and all you can do is try to torp other DDs and get sunk or else get sunk by some Yamato secondaries at 10km.

    Starting from a port is great and the waterfalls are really good looking. New maps are always welcome for me. I would just change the shape of that small island in the center of A cap in map Okinawa ;)

    - There were never packs of Shimas spamming torps from 20km. That's crap. It's a myth. Never happened. I never saw that, anywhere. I'm sure there's a few players who did it but only under the effect of something weird as there isn't even a reason to do so... Captains see 30 torpedoes and imediatly think of 4 Shimakazes lined up in a highly organized mafia of DDs, 20km away, just launching "walls of torpedoes". The reality is that when you see (saw) 5 Shimas in a battle, there's like 99% chances of each going is own life... those torpedo walls were caused by several DDs, in different places, maybe far from each other, a lot of times not even Shimas. The fact that the torpedoes "arrive" all at the same time, creating "walls of torpedoes" is due to the fact that all Shimas will finish loading torpedoes at the same time, this kind of sync only happened in the beginning of battles. I'm not saying there weren't torpedo walls, but just the imagination that flows in this foruns... it's amazing. - It's a NERF. Some people are getting delusional about this. WG itself called it a NERF. Change was: torpedoes got worse. That's a NERF, please stop trying to come up with the most ridiculous arguments to call it a BUFF. - Yes. If you didn't try a ship, you have no experience with it (to Admiral Noodle). Watching other players is not enough. I've learned that myself about this game, in this forum. It's like a racing driver saying he doesn't need to try that car because he saw other drivers doing it. You are as ellegible to give your opinion as any other player but you should do it from the perspective of someone who plays with or against it. Not in it, because that, you don't know. If you think you always know what other players are up to, you'll end up blaming a guy for being somewhere in the map, when he may have had strong reasons to be there. That happens to all of us. That's why you may have a different opinion on how to play a ship once you try it. What i think happened in this nerf - WG said this change in High Tier IJN DDs was to make their captains play more aggressively, closer to enemy ships and therefore prevent the formation of "torpedo walls" On itself this is funny enough, since the distance to ships never influenced the creation of torpedo walls. Also funny because the problem was never the ship or how OP it was. It was the sheer amount of Shimakazes that created the problem. It's a problem of MM so what does WG do? Blames players and nerfs their ship. - What's happening now? Well, there's no more walls of torpedoes, that's for sure. - Why do you think that is happening? Is it because "Shima captains are playing closer and more aggressively and on doing so, preventing torpedo walls"? Not really. Is it because there aren't as many Shimakazes in battles? Certainly yes. I'm sure you all agree that 1x1 or 2x2 instead of 5x5 or 6x6 Shimakazes in a battle is preventing torpedo walls. It's kind of obvious. - Why there's less Shimakazes in battles? There's less players using it. It's also obvious. - Why there's less players using it? "because all those noobs that were spamming from 20km are gone" it's a really bad answer, even childish. So it's wrong. At all levels. Because players couldn't handle such a buff? ........ Because players were afraid of having to play closer and suddenly stopped using their Tier X ships?...... Because if captains want to play "aggressively" they will end up spending 100K, 200K or more in most battles? That's for sure. Because captains are forced to redistribute skills? Not sure if it's a good answer but it's certainly helping. Because now Shimakaze is useless? Right answer. Because now is boring as hell? Also a good answer. WG nerfed Shimakazes so that players would stop using it and was very successful with it. That's what happened. I've accepted that (no other option). And now? So at this point, the only possible discussion is: Is the ship still playable? My opinion. No. Should this nerf be "fixed"? My opinion. Yes. That's what my experience tells me. Especially because i'm one of those who gave up playing that ship. I didn't sell it. Playing it right now is as if i grabbed a few hundred K credits and threw it away. It's how fun it is. Cheers ps. just out of curiosity: If you watch it close, in most replays of "torpedo walls" you can see that those DDs weren't at more than 10 or 11 km distance. Experienced captains have an idea of the distance at which torps are launched, by checking how wide the torpedo spread is. A spread of 5 torpedoes, after 20 km, becomes so wide you could call it "torpedo wall of China". Most likely, if you get hit by a torpedo launched at 20km range, you won't even be able to see the other 4 torpedoes in the same spread, let alone create torpedo walls at such distances. This is how ridiculous it is for WG to create the feeling it was the players fault...

    If this is what you want to know, i have 264 battles with Shimakaze. I don't care about overall win rates because that's manipuletd by WG for balancing purposes so it's worth for what is worth. I never talked about anyone stats, i said the guy had no battles in a especific ship. If you can read stats, i'm sure you can tell the difference. The fact that you never played Tier IX or X IJN DDs is a great reason for me to to say you're clueless. I do admire how positive you are about playing Shimakaze but when you get there you will want to switch back to other nations. Believe me you'll be disappointed. Why don't you grind to Gearing?? You already have a Fletcher and the Shima is useless compared to the USN ship. Do you think Shima is better because it has 5 more torpedoes? Have you compared all specs from both ships?

    Lame is not knowing what stats are. Having played or not a ship and the number of battles in that ship doesn't apply as "WR Police" talk. You never saw me here bragging about win rates. Basically you don't have a clue about what your saying next. You're just saying it because the nerfs where "nice" for you.

Flamu is full of crap and he doesn't even play Shimakaze so his opinion is suspect. If i only show my good battles on YouTube you automatically think i'm the greatest player?? That's so limited. "Flamu said it was good so it must be good" come on how old are you? ps. really? you never played more than Tier VIII and you never played DDs? Not even one battle? Do you have another account? Do you just come here and defend WG? Is your opinion based on what? Test ships where you don't give a crap about credits or doubloons? Get out of here.
  21. I wasn't hating or anything like that because you only have 4 battles. I just wish i was so optimistc about it. There's no doubt there's a lot of bad players in Tier X but it's not always the case. When you see a Shima captain with strange behaviour, not entering a cap, the tendence is to say "noob refusing to cap" but you are not following his battle, you just look at him, from time to time. He can be trying to runaway from a cruiser that got him with radar, he can be trying to get away from the trajectory of enemy planes, he can be helping a team mate with smoke, he can actually be playing well without looking like it. Believe me you won't find many Shima captains that don't know their detection range, that hide behind BBs or refuse to cap. Anyway most fun is between Tier IV and VII. The best battles and the most epic situations are in those tiers. Cheers mate and keep sinking those fat BBs ;)
  22. See how opinions can be different with experience? I personally think that (now) Kagero is a much better ship than Shimakaze. Not the ship itself, but comparing the tiers you play against. I was thinking about going back to Kagero (you can see why in my previous posts in this thread) but instead i'm making a "pause" in the game, just a couple of Tier IV to VII battles here and there.. I think there's more bad players lately in Tier X than in lower tiers so instead of playing Shimakaze i'm just doing skins for it lol.

    That happened to me to so i used option "Cammo Remover" in Aslain mods (in the same section as skins). Now it's fine. If you prefer to edit camouflages.xml you have to unpack the file first (on res_packages) with this: http://forum.worldofwarships.eu/index.php?/topic/49179-mods-in-wows-055/ It has a graphical UI, just install it to game root folder.
