    Ships with Space Shields?

Chat server is down so WG must be fixing stuff in the servers, maybe it's causing some anomalies.

    Ships with Space Shields?

Risalan, on 05 November 2015 - 05:03 PM, said: You have a lag problem. What you see is not what really occurs, like in WOT being hitting behind a house. Check you intenet connection or reduce graphic settings. I don't think so, i think lag doesn't make stuff explode earlier, i do have a slow pc but my connection is fine but it wasn't only affecting me. Unintentional_submarine, on 05 November 2015 - 05:04 PM, said: Very much a bug. The first of this significance I have ever seen ingame. The Mahan in question is clearly as surprised by this as he ran head first into the invisible wall, and then tried to shoot, only for the shells to impact right in front of him in the air. Later, after you transferred hte view to the carrier, a Pensacola managed to 'beach' himself on the invisible object. And just as the Mahan (which didn't move) he appeared to be stuck. Yep, it's true he may be stuck and surprised but that wall only stopped torpedoes coming from one side because his torpedoes hitted me. Well if it happens once, chances are it will happen again. Maybe it was just a terrible misalignment of factors and events that lead to that bug!

High tier IJN destroyer gameplay, pure RNG

Logically, RNG has nothing to do with DD torps. Buffing torps by increasing the range is like doing nothing, i could have 50km range torpedos, whats the point? Searching for luck? Even 4km range is good if the DD is decent. I've been doing pretty well so far in Russian DDs (now at Ognevoi) and it's fun to play, even when i don't play very well or loose. USN DDs gonna have a big buff. Great for them. Don't wanna let NA players upset. Now when i play Fubuki it's like the most boring gameplay i have EVER had in this game (next in list are Tier VI and VII IJN DDs). Torp, torp, stay undetected, maybe one torpedo hit if there's some distracted or noob capt on the other ship. Believe me there isn't one single ship in the game that isn't able to dodge any long range torpedoes, i mean any ship. Then you torp again, don't engage any gunboat as you will loose that battle... detected! gonna run, oops no rudder, no engine, smoke screen, wait he has sonar and there's 2 squadrons on top of me, so smoke is useless... try to shoot at that ship before i sunk, wait, i have no turrets nor torps...sunk. Almost looks that every single shell will mess up something... sunk. Just another boring battle. Suppression?? Area denial? You kidding? I do that all the time, even automatically by missing torps, but friendly BBs and CAs (that don't give a crap about you) love to shoot at ships that are dodging, it's great because those enemy turrets point in other diections and all isn't it? So everybody wins but me. Area denial, suppression, closing straights or passages, keeping 4, 5 ships at large...it's all just a big joke for DDs. "I'm giving you this roles but you won't be rewarded by anything that you do. IJN DDs can only be rewarded if they are lucky" this is what WG is doing. One thing i totally disagree. Looks like BB and CA captains are always worried about DD buffs or any kind of buff to any other class, the problem must be that like that they won't have time to finish the whole cigarette. BB is the most easy and relaxed class to play. Increasing RoF in DDs would be a nerf to them? So what do you think about update 0.5.1? What about the new Russian DD fleet? Isn't that a nerf for IJN DDs? They have much better guns and certainly won't be getting hit by long range torps. What about the buff to USN DDs? Isn't that a nerf for IJN DDs? Even the new cap rewarding system doesn't look good to me. I will wait on this one but rewarding all classes just the same for capping or def. cap is, to say the least, ridiculous. What i predict is a idiotic cap race where everybody tries to cap and forget about it's duties. I've been capping for a long time without being rewarded. Now I will be able to cap for 15 seconds till BBs and CAs eager for more xp cap as well and start dividing the cap points. If WG doesn't attribute cap reward based on ship roles i will simply give up this game as it will mess up big time the game. As WG is doing it, it looks more like rewarding every ship even more than DDs. WG just nerfed the entire IJN fleet, one way or another. Atago was buffed in a second because WG needs to keep those players that buy Premium ships really happy. I'll wait till the update to see what happens but i'm almost selling Fubuki (i already researched the Kagero - wow 2 spreads per year - 20km useless torps... same piece of ship...) forget it. I won't be giving any more money to WG just to reach Tier X. The only decent High Tier IJN DD is Shimakaze (just the sheer amount of torpedoes will make up for other stuff) but then again, it's more profitable for WG that you pay to skip some tiers. instead of letting you have fun with Tier VI, VII, VIII or IX you see what i mean? WG makes you pay for upgrades in IJN DDs that aren't even upgrades, they are trade offs. You get better AA and a bit more HP but you must loose a gun turret. What the hell upgrade is this? One more reason for the absolute contempt WG treats IJN DDs must be bacause it looks there's to many IJN DDs so WG must be trying to avoid people getting more of them. WG also looks like wanting IJN DD captains to sell their ships. Update looks great in every aspect but i'm not happy at all as WG has absolutely no respect for those who play with these ships. ps. Good thing the Hermelin is getting buffed so it's as good as the Hashidate. Talk about a game changer, careful not to break the balance of the battle.

The blatant Russian bias of the game

Stats are complex as hell, you are making them very simple. Take this example: Suddenly, a lot of players start buying Premium CAs and earning them in game as well. Let's suppose the number of CAs in the game increases by 10%. CAs captains, individually, won't notice any difference, but DDs, individually, will have a slightly decrease in several stats, simply because there's more ships in which one of the roles is to sink DDs. More CAs, more damage to DDs. In total, CAs will have a increase in accumulated damage,xp, etc but no significant changes in average stats, DDs will have a decrease, individually and in total amount of accumulated and averages. As an example, my Fubuki win rate dropped from 54% or 53% (can' remember well) to 50% since the new Russian DDs and new German CAs were released and it will get worse as more players reach the same tier. This happens because they have better guns and will be trying to sink me. It's normal. If there's a ship with only 100 owners. You can't really compare it to others, even if it's OP, because the possibility of finding one is so remote that it won't really affect you nor anyone. There are so many factors to compare that you need to choose a specific subject to be able to compare ships like that. Even the time of day when you play the most will influence your stats. About what i said of human nature. I meant that when something goes wrong, our brain will most likely remember the bad things and it will also make you forget the good things. This is a form that our brain finds as some kind of self defense. This happens more if you have a great series of battles and suddenly you start loosing like hell. This happened to me in a variety of situations but in the end, the reasons for my problems were things like playing at 4 am (like 2k players can't make a lot of credits, always matched against tier) X. Being tired is a common factor and thinking of credits instead of the battle itself. I do believe you when you said this wasn't your case. I'm just explaining myself as it may have sounded a bit agressive but that wasn't really my mood. Cheers

The blatant Russian bias of the game

Well those stats are highly inaccurate. WR is always random chance up to a reasonable number of battles and if it's a new ship, other players need some time to adapt as well. It's not correct to use data from other ships that is previous to the release date of a new ship. There were buffs, nerfs and many other changes to the game that had some effect in older ships performance/stats. Changes that a new ship didn't experience. Stats should only include values starting at a time and for a period when all compared ships existed (adding some adaptation time to new ships release date). About the blatant Russian bias of the game. WG is an international game developer. They've been around for some time now. Things aren't always as we want them to be but to think that a company (like it or not) that grew so much, that is implemented in so many countries, would make such a weird thing, is, to say the least, innocent. It's part of the human nature to justify it's own failures with conspiracy stats created out of the most convenient patterns. I did it. We all do it from time to time. Politicians do it all the time. Probably you were sunk a few times by Russian ships and now you're just mad. ;-)

    Press accounts

This is wrong on so many levels. How can you even think of asking something like that? You aren't serious, you are just trolling.
  7. There should be a form with dropdown menu filters, in game or on web site, that would allow users to check stats in a faster way. Like: Show: (wr, xp, dmg...), Nation: (any, USN, IJN....), Tier (any, I,II...), Class (any, CV, CA...), Ship (any, Omaha, Furutaka...) and maybe even a after/before date filter. All fields but the first should have option "Any" and allow multiple choices. Some options, logically, would be dependent of previous option (Ex: selecting Tier V would prevent ships from other tiers showing on next filter.) This would allow players to see Win Rate in Tier 3 ships or the Damage made by IJN Battleships or really just about everything else. About Win Rate I hope i'm not wrong but saying 60% WR means basically that a player had a positive influence of 10% in a determined number of battles. Now having 10% influence on 20 battles is not the same has having 10% in 1000 battles therefore i think Win Rate should be calculated using win percentage and number of battles. and a question: I've seen several times Win Rate percentages by server. How is this calculated? How can a server have 54% WR? If someone wins, someones looses, if it's a draw, it's a draw for both, right? What other factors are taken into consideration to say a server has 54% WR? Thanks

  9. Well certainly this new update is nice and i thank WG for most changes and additions. I did like to read that and i think it's going to really improve gameplay. Now, there are some things i can't understand: 1 - Atago was always a better ship than Mogami. We have no doubts here i hope. WG nerfed Mogami because it was OP (as WG said) Now WG buff Atago because it's too weak? Can you please explain the logic behind these two changes? Edit: I certainly got a lot of explanations about point 1 and overall Mogami looks like it's better than Atago. I just don't agree with 155mm being better than 203mm, despite the fact that captain skills give a big advantage to 155mm guns. 2 - A lot of YouTubers saying Des Moines is OP, i see players all the time in battles saying they love Des Moines because is so OP. So WG buff Des Moines. Again, who have WG been listening to? Edit: forget about point 2, Zao is actually better and this is bringing to much noise to what i think is really important. 3 - The changes in USN DDs are good, there's more chances for USN DD Captains but... What about IJN high tier DDs?? They already have weaker artillery than USN ones. IJN had the advantage of range (not anymore it looks) but anything more than 10km range is just wasting torpedos, that is more than proved. Even at 10km you only hit the noobs and WG knows that.. Most complains i see are about how broken gameplay is for high tier IJN DDs! Did WG skip that reading? So what does WG do? Buff Cruisers (the most likely to kill DDs) and buff Bombers (they also like DDs) As for IJN high tier DD it goes like this: "hey DD go spot ships" "hey DD go cap" most BBs and CA captains don't even know that the biggest help IJN DDs are giving is area denial, suppressing, making enemy ships turn to dodge torps making their main guns out of aim and sparing the team of hundreds of shells. It's easier to fire at ships that are not aiming at you. Most of the times, DD captains will try to do all of this and maybe, just maybe, if there's a few noobs in the enemy team, hit 1 or 2 torps before sinking, and that's it! You did a lot, you helped a lot and you can see the results of your actions in the end result screen with everybody earning a lot more than you. These same BB captains that ask for your help, in the next game they will be playing against you and calling you a bug because thats the role of high tier IJN DDs: bugging ships. If someone is going to say "hey dude play another class then" please get lost. I want to play IJN DDs. I just want the same chances as other classes. So my answers from now untill WG fixes high tier DD gameplay will be: "hey DD go spot ships" - - why don't YOU do the spotting? Spotting doesn't give me XP or Credits. "hey DD go cap" - "why don't YOU go cap? Cap is worthless for XP and Credits" Teamplay? Honour? that won't do much for me but it will always make others earn more XP and Credits. I really hope that someone involved in the game replies to me and says something like: "We didn't forget about high tier IJN DDs, we are going to do this and that...." you know what i mean? You must take into account that i only complain this much because i really like the game. When i don't like a game i don't go over the trouble of even posting. In fact, this is about the only game i actually (sometimes) put money on to have Premium. It's not only Atagos that give WG money you see? Cheers

    It's raining shells

This is a Cleveland competition. How can any other cruiser hit more shells? Maybe Mogami but i doubt it because you're simply not going to start hitting Tier IX or X 200x times without getting sunk. WG will do it differently next time i bet.

WG has been listening to who?

Right now i'm trying AA config in Fubuki. It has (almost) as good AA as the Cleveland! Offcourse i'm using all perks to improve AA. I'm just trying to see if it works better loosing a cannon and having rate 42 in AA. Now if i spot planes, i'l hide behind some mountain (if i really have to), turn on AA and foucs on that squadron. It's working well. My idea is to reduce the number of time i get spotted and at the same time, take down some planes. I don't use 15km torpedoes (57knots) as i think it's more of a downgrade of the 10km(62knots) One more curious thing.(example) Fubuki: I have a good battle, sunk 2 ships then get sunk. I earn like 100K credits great. I pay 91K damage. Total earns 9K Isokaze: I always rush like crazy, sink 2 ship then get sunk. I earn like 40K. I pay 6K damage. Total earning 34K. This values are examples but they serve to show how do i make credits when i'm standard. I have the upgrade for -10% detectability and i'm 1 skill point away of getting the (dont rememmber the name) skill that gives me less 10% detetetability. After that i will have in the Fubuki (-3 camouflage, -10% upgrade(or is it called consummable?), -10% 5 point capt. skill) all this is less 23% detectability... leaves me with 5.4km! As i have 6.1km detection range now, i can fire at ship from around 11km without being detected. I think firing will add something like 4km detectability. so 6.1km+4km - 10.1km If i am inside smoke that gets even closer but smoke works both ways... I'm gonna give ships some hard times when i'm able to shoot at them at 9,4 km without being detected. Maybe some of this numbers are slightly wrong but i'm still trying these tactics. Hope i helped Cheers Here is one the best video i've seen on DD gameplay and firing without being detected. This one is by Jingles.

WG has been listening to who?

Hi mtm, those 44% reflect a lot o ships, I almost at a point where i want to start a new account, just because of that. win rate reflects the influence you had in all battles, right? I play mostly Fubuki (52%) and from some time Isokaze (61% need this low tier to make more credits ;) Let me tell you, i play a lot better than i did, but making that win rate go up takes forever (it's going up) even you are a much better player now. That's why i feel like starting a new account. Maybe tomorrow is a good day for that! (i woke up now everything still a bit blurry, gonna have some coffee eheh, should i bring one for you people? Cheers!

WG has been listening to who?

Hi Exocet, did you read the changes i made yesterday on my first post? I accepted that (and i knew that) i checked all that in a time when i changed from Cleveland to Pensacola. I just say i do better with 203mm because i like to engage Battleships with HE thatn AP. I'm not into rains of fire which doesn't mean it's not effective. I just like to have more penetration power! I said that (more or less) somewhere in a post and reflected it in my main post. The 12 sconds that came out of "somewhere over the rainbow" where a huge fail and were part of a impulsive reply that i also admitted. I mean can you really hit something with 155mm at 17km?? I remeber when i played Cleveland, to hit a fast ship at that ship, sometime i had to compensate with so much lead the enemy ship got out the screen... it's only a matter of range and penetration. Most captains that i find in battle are convinced that 203mm can't penetrate armor of ships like North Carolina, why? I do it a lot of times. Thanks for taking the time to reply Exocet

How could i miss all that info, that's great stuff. also this... "players will finally be rewarded for capturing key areas..." in bulletin 0.5.1 is already something. I can't wait for 0.5.1, i'm sure it will bring something new to IJN DD Captains. Thanks Userext

WG has been listening to who?

Sorry nake but i think it's not like that. A skilled Tier X CV Captain WILL sink any DD, if he really wants to. Even if he misses the first, he will get you in the second or finish you with bombers. As for being detected, that is something that most of the times doesn't depend on you. Tier 10 fighters are fast as hell and they can just appear almost in front of you. The best you can do is try to avoid "known" squadron routes. DD captains cannot predict where CV capt. will send their planes. Even if they are detected at more than 10km, if going your way, you will most likely get spotted. Best thing to do is hide from other ships and hope you are not the target. If you are not the target, he may left behind a fighter to keep you spotted... I do agree with you on the BB subject and i also agree that they won't spend a lot of time with a DD, why would they? (There are some Tier X CV Captains that specialize in spotting and finishing DDs). Now just to clarify: I don't do THAT BAD with DDs, i have 52% wr or so with Fubuki and around 60% with Isokaze (Isokaze is twice as OP as Minekaze). Not great but certainly not bad. The 44% overall that i have come from playing with a lot of ships. My problem is that i must do a lot more than sinking 1 or 2 ships to even have a profit. If i get detected in Isokaze,i still can run away and fire a few shells. In the Fubuki i might as well let go of the keyboard. It's a dead sentence. The post on this topic deviated like hell, yes, in part because i said some stupid stuff, but i did recognize that and didn't even delete a word in my first post - just added some explanation - so that people that thought like me (about differences in Atagos and Des Moines) wouldn't get the wrong idea. My problem is that WG doing those changes, that are good for USN DDs and Atagos etc, will put even more pressure on the already "bugger role" the IJN DDs have now. I don't need more torps, i don't need more range. I just want the chance to do a little bit more than being a "bugger" or the ship that spots and caps so that others can profit. Tier III, IV and V IJN DDs are really OP, from Tier VI up are too weak. IJN DD gameplay is messed up. If you dont believe me i can also send you a replay from a few days ago sinking 8 ships with Isokaze, and it wasn't even hard. You can see a picture of end result in the Fans Page if you don't believe. This topic just deviated too much, mostly because of me. Now one thing is for sure: the LPM here is really OP (Learning Per Minute). Cheers

WG has been listening to who?

Do you really think that when your +40 planes are heading to some Battleship or CV or whatever, they don't detect DDs?? Most of the times i get detected is by CV planes going somewhere else. High tier CV captains don't give a crap about DDs because they don't represent a real threat and they are not as profitable as a Montana, a Yamato or other CV. That's how useless IJN DDs are (and USN so far). That is also why you don't play it. It's too hard and gold/premium can't buy you good battles.

WG has been listening to who?

Did you read my first post again? I updated it long ago. Anyway Atago is only mediocre when you don't know how to use 203mm and get frustrated trying to play like you have 155mm but as i said i have to admit the Mogami is better since everyone seems to agree on that. However i still think 203mm shells are way better and taking that into account i would rather play with Atago. Lately i'm playing more low tier DDS as i'm not premium now and that's the best way of earning credits but when i play Myoko i get a lot of citadels in North Carolinas, Amagis... You just have to change the way you play. You don't go spamming HE like crazy like you do with 155mm. With 203mm you must be constantly changing between HE and AP and the idea is not to fire at 17km. You need to be closer to be really effective. In my only battle today i sunk a 10K HP NC (broadside) with 3 salvos of 203mm AP. If i had 155mm HE i could set him on fire but i wouldn't last long. I do engage with Tier IX and X battleships. I always fire HE first then if angled i use mostly HE if broadside i use AP. It's not that hard to penetrate NC armor with 203mm AP. I do this with a Mioko that is worst (or should be) than an Atago. I have several replays that don't work anymore but if you want an example i have the one from today. The only advantage of high rate of fire HE 155mm spamming is that some Battleship Captains will stress and panic like crazy when they see fires and a lot of shells coming in As i already admitted Mogami should be better, maybe because it has both options. I may have watched the wrong stats but if you don't use the 155mm guns it's not better than Atago.

You have a big mouth but the reality is different than your "paid" stats. I might not be the greatest player but i certainly am much better than you. You barely played with any ship lower than Tier VIII so you bought your way real fast. You only play with Classes that can guarantee you income. I bet you have 18 or so Captain skills. How can you not have nice stats? You barely played anything but CVs or High Tier BBs! Who are you to come here saying ridiculous things like "For me high tier is IX an X" sure it is, you don't know anything else! You are really good at one thing. You post thousands of times to defend your precious Tier X CVs and BBs from any threat. In the end Sharana, looking at some of your posts in other topics, you're just a jerk with way to much time on your hands and not so much skill that spent a fortune with this game just to play CVs with a bunch of captain skills. Please get lost as you only post to disrupt topics. Your biggest skill is to insert "noise" in subjects that can affect you in any way.

WG has been listening to who?

Look i don't say sorry twice. I wasn't agressive with you. I only said "morons" because of your attitude. - "Have you been smoking?" - "What planet do you live in?" You had no reasons to be so agressive don't you think? As for the Atago/Mogami subject i did agree that overall the Mogami really is better than Atago. A lot of "educated" posts made me realize that. Now that doesn't mean i would prefer Mogami. I would always choose Atago because i like to play with 203mm and i really dislike 155mm. 155mm shells are way too slow for my taste and at long range you can only hit slow battleships or distracted ones. I got bored of the Cleveland because of that. With 203mm you just have to play with a different tactic and you can actually penetrate Tier VII or IX BBs armor. If you don't believe this, i can send you a replay of a (really bad) battle 20 minutes ago, where i took about 10K HP from a North Carolina with 3 salvos sinking it (a few citadels). This was with a Myoko with 203mm AP shells you see? First i shot with HE, then switched to AP and boom no more NC. Try doing that with 155mm. Believe me you won't. In the end most Captains prefer 155mm because that's the way they play. The majority of players rather use 155mm so i have to agree is better and i changed my first post to reflect that. It's just not better for me you see?
