I think WG needs to rethink the drawing system, introduce some kind of tiebreak option (I really love how dynamic are points in domination - had some battles with 2-3 ponts difference in the end and they were awsome) or add some different battle scenarios (which I believe they will cuz domination and two variants of capture the flag may be enough for beta, but don't look particularly encouraging for the release). Thing is currently the developers encourage draws in high tiers simply by the repair cost - people tend to be less aggressive in order not to lose money and once 2-3 ships act conservative in the begining it gets difficult to push later on. And though there are games in which we have not been aggressive enough to take the win (no problem with that), I am witnessing quite a lot of games where the battle is so intensive with so many ships staying on the surface until lategame, that you can't really think of capping until it's too late. And the fact that if you don't start capping with 1/4 of battle time left, you're screwed (so the game is pretty much concluded in 15 of 20 minutes) - means that this solution is not in balance. The battles are long enough, so if people are having problem with pushing the victory through, perhaps it should get easier and faster to do damage overall? My rates are 51,8%/8,9%/39,3%. And the draw rate goes up slowly but surely with 7+ tier battles.

My first witherer. Surprising after how many runs I've messed up forgetting this is not IJN. -

My team has decided to go all-merry-lemming-train down the western side of two brothers and die within 5 minutes (except for one Wyoming who tried to defend eastern flank and died bravely) leaving me and Hatsuharu against 9 or 10 enemies. Well, at least I finally got to get my 7 kills in one go after a whole lot of sixes in various vessels. Shame it wasn't in a win, but that was quite a fun anyways. -
Well my whole point was that strike setups didn't necessarily promote selfish play so it depends on the captain not the ship how much you give to the team. That's at least my experience. And my point was also that the air groups will actually be less diverse across tree now. Look at screenshot. Is difference between 111 and 122 all that big on tier 6? Ryuj still gets two more squads but with less planes and similar role to play. I won't be feeling that much difference playing ryujo and indy.
-
Because I will have to do this tasks on all CV no difference IJN or US? now these two lines play differently as they have different roles and that is fun about them. From 4.1 they will be quite similar in roles to play.
-
I guess your Cleveland is ruining the fun for your victims as much as my carriers. Why being killed by CV is so different from getting one salvoed from BB? The problem with IJN CV OP will be solved - fine. But why at the cost of making the ships in the class less diverse and making one only type of load out useful until very late in tier progress?
-
So supporting your team by bringing doom to flank abandoned by your master-tactitian-lemming-teammates is egocentric? some CV captains will go kill all regardless what happens, some will actually make tactical choices and work towards team victory and not individual result which is worth 1/3 less if you lose. But if you think there's no tactics in a class designed for overviewing and controlling the battlefield you must be as much of a ignorant as you sound
-
Well I've tried to simulate the IJN CV line changes basing on what we know and the most probable option of TB to FF exchange. http://i.imgur.com/iYbr3aH.jpg As much as I admit Zuiho and Ryujo need a nerf (Hiryu and Shokaku to a smaller extent perhaps) I don't like how this change will affect diversity of CV play style as both lines will now promote balanced setups until tier 9. Do we really need to kill diversity of this class where every ship will be now operated pretty much the same way tactically?

So I am finishing my Aoba within 2 days and gathering ideas on how to use Myoko most effectively. The problem I have is which upgrade to choose for the second slot? Additional accuracy is always fun, but I'm pretty happy with Aoba's accuracy and Myoko should be very similar, though just a bit worse (127/14,9=8,52m/km vs 144/16,1=8,94m/km), at least on paper. AA range looks tempting, especially that Myoko has one of the strongest AA on it's tier - extending that 176 DPS aura 600 metres further might be really worth it. But what I'm affrad of is the turret traverse, which is the same as on Furutaka. On Furry that seriously affected my effectiveness in the playstyle I like to follow with IJN CAs - namely staying in long range to play the advantage of faster shell travel at the point where this advantage is largest. And that requires quite a bit flexibility and manuevering to keep within the preferred distance from target and most dangerous enemies - especially if you engage anything else than 1:1. Turrets, which can't follow your maneuvers, are the last thing you want in such situations. Lets do some math. Myoko base turret traverse is 8 deg/s = 45s stock and 8,7 deg/s = 41,4 s with aiming skill. Upgrade can improve turret traverse further to 10 deg/s = 36 seconds. And that's comparable to Aoba traverse (with aiming skill 10,7 deg/s = 33,6s). With the upgrade you gain over 5 seconds traverse time at the expense of half round per minute (your ROF will drop from 5,0 (12 sec reload) to 4,55 (13,2 sec reload). And I'm thinking whether it's a good idea to sacrifice half round per minute in order to actually be able to shoot at something while dodging fire. How did you solve this puzzle?

Wondering which bombers are they planning to exchange with fighters in strile loadouts. TBs? Zuiho and Ryujo already have 1/2/1 and 1/2/2 loadout, so that would mean removing the strike deck and as I understand they want to rework it. Besides giving ana artificial choice on Zuiho between 1/2/1 and 1/2/2 would be admitting they have no idea how to make this carrier work in any other option than full strike. So maybe DBs? Zuiho 1/3/0 ad Ryujo 1/3/1?! Well, it can be argued that's a buff, not a nerf. Unless the strike loadout will be completely reconfigured some freaky 1/1/3 which nobody would choose...

Carried the game from 3:5 being chased all half the map by Wickes, Isokaze, Nicholas and Omaha and having to kill the last one of them looking into his barrels from like 2 km. In the end it was like in old westerns - a duel between me and the other Zuiho - whoever pulls the trigger first, wins. -

Guess my best gaming day ever - 10 wins in a row, 15/19 in total. Though it didn't start all that well. -

Just after I moaned on this forum about my Ryujo - my best performance ever in the game. Got scores on 10 ships in total. I know it's 2 against one but our Bogue had suicide loadout and got killed early while I got spotted busy with killing the other Ryujo, so it was intense until the last 3 minutes when the wipeout has started. Mind this was without daily bonus. -
Ryujo ATM. No luck in matchmaking. I know I can do a lot better.

Got instakilled with Ryujo by Shokaku. Few seconds later done this teamed up in my Zuiho with Bogue against another Ryujo. Low kills due to constant decap feast, but great game with 5 torp hits on Clevelands. My new damage record and now my Zuiho has higher average damage than Ryujo. Starting to think Zuiho is much better keeper due to more predictable MM. -

After all sorts of bad MM and my teams deciding to do suicide lemming trains finally a good game in Ryujo - my biggest damage up to date. -

Looks like I'm much more into my Aoba (39% hitrate) rather than Cleveland (26% hitrate). And in this battle I did everything like it should be done - angling, engaging & being active in the first line, disengaging and lookin g for better opportunity when focused by enemy. And getting citadels on uncle Cleve -
A owszem. Zuiho i Ryujo zwłaszcza. Ale zanim do nich dojdzie, najlepiej zarobi na tych czterech krążownikach.
-
Na początkowych tierach krążowniki - St Louis, Tenryu, Kuma, Omaha.

Held from 1 to 5. Would have been the greatest achievement even if I didn't have all these losses in a row today. PS. So the tides have turned - my first win in Ryujo. Intense. -

First thrown in a 10 against 12 match with enemy team full of DD's, then I miss all my 12 torps from the first wave, our base gets occupied by 5 enemy ships and I need to cycle decaps all while being shot at by Phoenix and torped by Isokaze and in the end... Looks like I'm getting a hang of this -

I think Omaha will be a lot better keeper than good old Cleve -
Very sneaky WarGaming, very, very sneaky......

What we need is a win-to-loss ratio. With draws above 5% win% rate means pretty much nothing. I got 48,7% wins. Not much right? That's 312 games, 152 wins, 19 draws and 141 loses. My win-to-loss ratio is 1,08. Now - does that make below or above average? -

When 149k damage is not enough at least you get to sink a Myogi, Omaha nad Nicholas trying to cap your base
