With Deadeye gone and Thunderer Range "nerfed" the campers have found a new favorite boat
ColonelPete replied to bloodynicknames's topic in General Discussion
When you prefer broadsiding to an enemy, go ahead. When you are afraid of a DD lurking behind the rock, then you should not have moved so far ahead in the first place. It is just an option you can use in that situation. When you think that other skills are more effective, then you are saying that fire is of a secondary concern to you. If it really were the big problem for BB, then players would use everything to counter it. I personally do not use Fire Prevention on any BB right now, because I do not need it. At the moment I rarely use Signals for the reduction of fire duration, because I want to save them up and I do not really need them. That is how much fire bothers me. -

One fire does 13% of damage to my BB, if I let it burn the whole time. 10.4% when I use the anti fire signal. One standard Heal repairs 14% of your BB, with signal, which I use every time, it is 16.8%. On some BB it goes up to 40% (48% with signal). That means I have to hold back my Heal to not waste its potential.

HE has more potential vs angled targets, that is the job of HE shell hits are important, otherwise you would not do damage... that depends on the HE shell, there are ships who are good or bad at setting fires and fires can be controlled BB camp for any reason, even when they are not even getting shot at, these are just excuses of people who do not know better A change of fire mechanics will not lead to more offensive play. Bad BB players will then complain about: too many torps too strong torps too many planes overpowered AP SAP the weather

Because it is important... Avoiding crossfire is the key, but reducing the number of ships that can shoot at you is also important. Distance is secondary. You can be 8km to the closest enemy, when the others cannot shoot at you. And you can be 15km to the closest enemy, but 8 enemies can shoot at you, not a good idea. Positioning helps you to angle vs enemies and protect your sides. When you are too close to the enemies to angle vs all of them, but there is an island that can cover your exposed broadside, use that. And yes, as explained multiple times, angling also helps vs HE. (smaller target, better armor profile - remember your turret armor). And managing Damage Control and Heal is proper fire control. And when someone complains about fires and he has not taken the appropriate skills and instead has chosen something different, then fires cannot be so bad. -

Then take a look at Venezia. She does even more damage and mostly penetration damage, that can only be healed for 50%. And Venezia tanks around the same amount of damage as Hindeburg and survives more. And still they get sunk more often than many other ships. The problem is not with Hindenburg, but with the captain who does not know how to mitigate damage. -

WG Why don't you NERF Sinop ?
ColonelPete replied to RenamedUser_92906789's topic in General Discussion
I agree. But the main problem is the base dispersion. The reason all RU BB are very strong. WG should change the base dispersion to a standard one (FR or US BB). -

Really? Hindenburgs are a problem for you? It looks more like the more Hindenburgs the enemy team has, the better the chances of your team winning. I recommend free Hindenburgs for everyone on the enemy team -

The hunt for Bismarck, Really?
ColonelPete replied to KapteinSabeltann's topic in General Discussion
When you do not want the stuff, do not play. Easy solution. I do not mind some extra credits and signals for playing the game. -

Has anyone made the statistical analysis of ship class usage (CV, BB, DD, CA/CL) since the January 2021 and introduction of latest "Commander Skill Rework/Update" ?

Is that a law in your country? -
You were complaning about Tier X and not Yamato. And you played over 400 battles in Musashi, so you should have known what you were getting into...
-
Most people learn from their negative experience and change their approach. Other people research their 4th Tier X and are surprised that the gameplay did not change compared to the first threetimes or better seventeetimes...

That is your special, personal problem. Other people do not have your problem and it works like it should. -

That is how the game works and WG will not change it for you. Complaining about something fundamental is pointless. Discussing that is pointless. And when a disussion is pointless and the opening posts clearly shows that someone does not understand the basics of the game, like your last thread, the thread gets closed down. That is like opening a thread and complaning about the Research Points and Credit costs of ships and being unable to play Yamato in your first match. -
it uses different mechanics if it is not a CV, do not call it a CV
-
I am replying to what I am quoting. And that is just wrong.
-
Nope. CV attack planes do not suddenly spawn near the target CV attack planes have to fly through the AA burst zone, if there is one CV attack planes have a very small target area CV attack planes do not launch that many bombs at once CV attack planes profit from CV captain skills
