matchmaker Matchmaking in der Kritik
ColonelPete replied to Frighty1975's topic in Allgemeine Diskussionen
There was never this rule. Do not assume the existence of rules from other games.

You do not need islands for Concealment. Please learn more about the spotting system in the game. And it is funny that you bring up these two ships, that represent only a small part of your battles, when you are much worse in everything else. I suggest you play a few more battles, I would be surprised if you kept these numbers. No, they do not. See 1. Islands just make it easier. We are talking about HE, do not change the topic. BB have used multiple excuses for camping in the past, see the BB bingo card. Even without HE spammers, they stay back. Do the math! When 100% HE spammers perform worse than people using ammo when appropriate, I do not see a balance problem. There is a reason that good players are rarely 100% HE spammers. So how is HE too strong then, when it is too weak for you? And this impression among players is that what I am talking about. Players who do not know how to play feel that HE is too strong. That is a skill issue. People who know how to deal with HE and fire do not have that impression.

Has the bar been raised for naval battles ?
ColonelPete replied to Cirno9999's topic in General Discussion
The thresholds are changed regularly. -
Concealment does not conceal enemy positions. Are you speaking about smoke now? And I know how effective you play, I see your results. That says more than ONE replay. Flanking, ambushing, baiting, defeat in detail are the most common ones You were complaning about all HE, that includes Hatsus HE... That shows only that you do not know how fire works, do the math. When it is in the game, where is the problem then? Ask Hatsu how well her HE performs vs Oktober, Sinop or Vladi. And no, AP does not need to citadel. AP penetration damage alone does more effective damage than HE. You will learn that when you use CA to shoot BB to pieces with AP. And yes, you can shoot AP as far as HE.
-
You made it perfectly clear in the other thread and your disregard of using using concealment adds to that, and no, I am not interested in your replays, I get better results than you Somehow other people are using tactics Yes, I understood that you are afraid of Hatsuharus HE, that is why you are complaning about long range HE spam all the time guns can be used against everything, that is the players choice, and when DD players throw the match by farming damage on BB, it should make it really obvious how weak that HE is, otherwise they would sink the BB quickly; since they did not, that should make the BB player happy, because he won and the HE farmer did not They why do you demand stuff that you can already do in the game? "Heavy cruiser AP should be effective against light and heavy cruisers" HE can shatter too..., unless you are talking once again about specific HE..., and while long range engagements are viable, you still hit less, you: "And at extreme range, even battleships can avoid AP salvos. Which means that for AP to be consistently effective, you need to get close." Insert HE here.

Why this game will never change
ColonelPete replied to bloodynicknames's topic in General Discussion
I wonder where all the new mechanics are coming from, when the game is not supposed to be changing? -
At the ranges you want to push in, there are rarely islands helping you.
-
You answers make it obvious you want to play a certain way, rushing into the enemy, and complain that it does not work the way you want you have no understanding of tactics, pacing yourself and timing are foreign concepts to you and considered cowardly, only non-stop moving forward is the right way to play and everything hindering that is overpowered and has to be changed that you do not have a problem with HE, but with HE from certain ships, that is not a game mechanics issue, but a ship balance issue that you have no understanding of the different types of DD in the game (" Destroyers shouldn't use their guns against battleships, they have torpedoes for that" ) that you do not have much experience using AP, as you demand things that already work in the game you are not aware that HE shells effective damage decreases with range, as ships hit significantly less that I have more much experience playing german BB and get much better results in them than you
-
No amount of angling will help vs 6 enemies.
-
It is obvious. Maybe you need to read it again.... AP is more powerful, when used corrctly, but HE does not get worse results? How is that possible when AP is more powerful, when used correctly? Therefore one of these two sentences must be wrong. Most ships do not have strong AP. Do you want DD to citadel any CA and BB at any range? Do you want them to shoot ineffective AP at enemy ships?# What do you want? Luckily you already found two exceptions to your rule. When you add concealment and angling, you have the full package. Btw. AP shells do not change their damage over distance either. You will probably consider diminishing damage not to be a defense, but in that case you cannot do that vs AP either. And for some reason WG decided that bot gunners should do all the fighting for the players. Wonder why
-
Good luck getting into that range at the beginning of the match. No wonder that you complain about HE, when half the enemy team focusses you.

Friesland Captain Nation Transition
ColonelPete replied to Sith_VoidDragon's topic in General Discussion
My bet is on a free 6 to 10 point captain. Cloning captains could mean to get a free 21 point captain. Would be nice, but I consider it doubtful that WG goes that far. -
WTF WG? CV on one team not on other? GG. Two games back to back
ColonelPete replied to anonym_OA3LkDiG5YKs's topic in General Discussion
And that is your choice. -
WTF WG? CV on one team not on other? GG. Two games back to back
ColonelPete replied to anonym_OA3LkDiG5YKs's topic in General Discussion
Everyone selects his own team. It is your decision what you bring to the battle. And I have seen enough teams without CV beat teams with CV. -
Oh, I understand quite well that you wrote a contradiction. That depends on the gun and shell. The AP on Minekaze is not useful in most situations. That is why you usually use HE with her. That is what HE is designed for. HE is here usually the superior choice, but hardly too powerful. On Yamato you can shoot AP most of the time, there are only few situations where you would need HE. Why? Because enemies survive longer and you want them to be sunk faster? Yes, that is annoying, but that also applies to me and my teammates. And since I try to select ammo properly, the enemies have less an advantage.
-
That is a contradiction. That is their problem. I have stated multiple times that I welcome any player using HE against my ships. I survived enough broadsides or took less damage in cruisers, because someone thought it would be better to use HE. Great for me.
-
Yes. You have the option to think about ammo selection or just spam one type and get worse results. How does getting worse results make something too powerful?
-
So MM is capable of doing this afterall.....
ColonelPete replied to Beastofwar's topic in General Discussion
Brawl MM was never explained. So we do not really know what it does. -
They are under Combat Missions. Please check if you really unlocked all 4 missions individually. https://worldofwarships.eu/en/news/sales-and-events/bismarcks-last-battle/

AP is the optimal ammo for all targets your AP can penetrate. HE is worse here. HE is the optimal ammo for all targets that your AP cannot penetrate, that is what the ammo is designed for. Someone using HE in all situations is less effective than someone who changes ammo according to the situation. How is being less effective too powerful? Yes, yes. I am not surprised that big bad battleships fear the HE power of the mighty Hatsuharu. Warspites AP is puny compared to that...
-
Their fire rate is faster than 1 salvo/Minute. And they do ok. Tier X Tier IX Tier VIII, Kansas is the only that does not so well
-
That is not the case. You are missing the details. I said it looks like I know more about the stuff we were discussing and that was the game and the examples I gave. And I said that because you were unable to recognize a skill or training issue.

why moderator blocks this thema? 21 points captain
ColonelPete replied to citaDELer's topic in General Discussion
No, they do not, as explained. Just put the commander on his old ship. No retraining needed.
