Matchmaker Discussion Thread & MM Balance
ColonelPete replied to Excavatus's topic in General Discussion
I am not suprised that you do not know more than way for a team to win... -
I believe it, when I see it. In this game it is nearly impossible to agree on a general direction, let alone an exact postion, heading and speed. 12 man divisions might do it, after some training. And that is one of the reasons why it is wrong to claim that they do not do it in Operations... And you think that WG would implement that in game and people would listen to him?

Das sollten selbst nicht alte Hasen erkennen können. 10.000 wäre für Base XP und Ribbons ein wenig viel... 10 wäre für Base XP und Schaden ein bischen wenig...
-
Yes, PiZZA Class... When you do not even know the Class name of a your national symbol... You forgot a bit more....
-
Balance does not work like that, especially when you forget the guns size, armor layout, penetration power, damage, dispersion, range,....

Matchmaker Discussion Thread & MM Balance
ColonelPete replied to Excavatus's topic in General Discussion
There are more than a fourthousand of these players... And the information about the weaker team is incomplete. And there are more than enough ways for both teams to win. -
Easy solution. Remove ALL ships controls. The game decides where you go. And you do not need to aim either, because the bot crew does that for you, not the captain. You just select the targets to aim at, unless the bot fleet commander gives different orders. Sounds interesting indeed...
-
In OPs, players play as they want. For a formation you need ONE person to tell all others how to sail. That does not work. One could implement a bot fleet commander, that tells players how to sail and players get bonus points for keeping formation, but I doubt that would work either and it would remove A LOT of decision making from the players.
-
Because it is boring and impossible, in a multiplayer game, to sail in formation and just slug it out.

Welche Statistik wertest Du aus?

Which we already have in game... Obviously No, they do not. That is why I might have missed that. You were claiming that cover prevents dynamic warfare, which is wrong. Camping is a problem as it leads to more boring battles. Camping can be done on any map. The discussion is about where camping is prevalent and what reduces camping. Or maybe anyone that moves in front gets focussed down and you have no realistic option to turn around, as that means showing broadside.
-
You noticed that you are looking at statements of two people with opposite views?
-
Arcade can be anything you want it to be. People are already complaining that BB guns are not effective enough vs DD. Now you want to adapt that to cruisers? It is funnly that you complain about lack of realism, but want to remove the effectivness of BB guns vs cruisers... sounds realistic... Unfair? Only when you sit in place. When you adapt a more dynamic playstyle, you can outflank the island campers. And I do not see any indications, that ships that can fire from behind islands are too strong I explained it to you. And no, we do not have trenches in game nor does anyone want any, as far as I know... And yes, when warfare became more mobile, armies did not stop using cover. That is called fire & movement... That is what others and I witness on the map...
-
It is based on Warships... It is just no simulation. Then please point me to it... Which gives concealment. As I said, more cover gives more dynamic battles. You have to activly maneuvre to flank ships behind islands and take them out. Low and mid Tier battles show that. As i said, Ocean IS a campfest...
-
I see only one question... That is probably the reason they did not design their ships for a game, but reality. Note the difference. And no, the navies of the world did not design their cruisers to stand up to BB. That is just not possible. Which comes back to my question, you did not answer. How would you change CL in game, that they can stand up to BB in an open fight? Yes, they do. That is how cover works.

General gameplay related questions - need expertise
ColonelPete replied to Harvin87's topic in General Discussion
It is not the job of Fletcher to fight cruisers and BB with guns. IFHE seems like a waste, but you can take it when you prefer such a gun focussed playstyle. She is absolutly stronger, but relativly weaker, as she faces tougher opponents on average. Her increased sluggishness also makes her harder to play. Dispersion module Only WG can know that. We do not know, but it is certainly possible. -

Allgemeiner Auftrag Flagge Kaiserreich Brasilien
ColonelPete replied to Bruzzler's topic in Allgemeine Diskussionen
Mit der Nürnberg ist das schaffbar. Helena, Cleveland oder Akizuki machen es aber einfacher. -
That would not be enough. It is the result of classes being weaker than other classes in a direct firefight. Yes, you could design cruisers that are equal to BB in a one on one fight, but I doubt that would be very popular.
-
because of lack of islands and some ships cannot work in open water please explain what you would change that a CL can stand up to a BB in open water only when you require all players to play on unicum level, but that is hardly realistic and even unicums move very careful on Ocean Says the contrarian in chief... Islands allow you to move up under cover... Camping is the result when you have to move in the open. And your last part just confirms what I said, that you need more cover...
-
Some people prefer balance and more action. Most cruisers are just target practice on open maps and most players are too afraid to move forward for fear of being targeted first.
