Because you could not spend pearls on the EU server. You got reward boxes automaticly which had to be opened before the event ended. The event ended when the target number of pearls was reached (or on the end date, whichever happened first).

Apart from not anncouncing that the shop would be open longer than the event? Why would one think that? There is no logic.

And? If they add some days, you can be sure that someone complains after that. If they add even more days, someone will complain after that on so on. That is not what events are for. Events are limited, that makes them special. You knew how long the event was supposed to go und and knew that the shop is open during that time. Why did you not use that?

Well, the event ended, when the 12 million was reached. That is the way it was programmed. (Btw Project R worked the same). WG Paris had planned it a bit differently, that is why they put in the stretch goal.

You are mistaken.

Looks like you did not pay attention when the event started. The original goal was 12 million diamonds. That was reached last week. The 15 million were added on the 1st of June.

People still do not get it. The aim of the event was to reach the final community goal. If it is reached, the event ends. The goal was reached last week. The webpage closed down. No way to earn more diamonds or spend them. Then WG intervened and put in a new stretch goal to give people more time to earn diamonds, reach personal goals and use the shop. That time is up.

Where does it say you can spend them later?

You got leeway. Hat WG not intervened, the diamond shop would have closed down on the 1st of this month.
