For the six pointers it would have been easy to get that extra skill point. We had the captains XP event before the patch.

I SUGGEST to look more often at your computer screen, then you would have noticed that you got something for both stages! There are enough ARP threads where you can find out what it was...

They were basicly free to reset for one week and we got another weekend regular discount and the changes were announced two weeks in advance. Basicly giving you time to either spend any remaining skil point on a first level skill or getting experience for another skill point before the patch hit the servers. Edit Since you are not the fastest, the situation will probably not matter to you much, until the next skill rest in the next 12 months.
