The Huanghe. Yup, i got it in the tier 6 premium container. Reading LWMs review (mov 2017?) I read that it has built in propulsion mod 2, like british light cruisers. It doesnt though. Was this changed at some point? If so, why? I cant find a changelog on it so i wonder if it was even changed intentionally, or if it wasnt a thing to begin with. Grtz Isoruku_Yamamoto

Ark Royal is Garbage..or am I missing the playstyle?
Isoruku_Yamamoto replied to Akula971's topic in Aircraft Carriers
You are missing the playstyle. While the planes are slow and quite fragile, the armament is real fun. Just find single targets and learn how long the bombs take to drop. Dive bombers are excellent for hunting DDs and light cruisers, or striking lightly armoured BBs and CVs. Torpedos are mainly for BBs and CVs, but can be used on cruisers and even DDs. Rockets are mainly for DDs and spotting. Aircraft regenerate quickly and come in pretty large groups, which make it a very potent CV. The dive bomber group is its specialty. -
Why not a WW2 simulation event? Axis VS Allies
Isoruku_Yamamoto replied to AlphaBaboon's topic in General Discussion
I absolutely love the video-processing on that :O the wonky fast speed and all make it look great -
Huanghe was released on november 30 2017, so that should be the final version. I am just wondering if it got changed, because it seems like it right?
-
Thats actually simple, the british are unable to equip Propulsion Modification 2. The Huanghe supposedly was unable to when it was released, but now is able to equip it.

https://forum.worldofwarships.com/topic/143823-premium-ship-review-huanghe/ clearly mentions it here that its supposed to act like the british folks

Why not a WW2 simulation event? Axis VS Allies
Isoruku_Yamamoto replied to AlphaBaboon's topic in General Discussion
well i mean you could do historical battles more or less. Sort of LARP style but then in WOWS. Also, with submarines coming the balance will definitely shift in favour of axis a bit -
Which Tier VI Premium (from completing directives) are you hoping for?
Isoruku_Yamamoto replied to Favuz's topic in General Discussion
You'll get one, but then again: you'll guaranteed get one. -
Why not a WW2 simulation event? Axis VS Allies
Isoruku_Yamamoto replied to AlphaBaboon's topic in General Discussion
How about you instead stick to the actual diplomatic relations? Axis: Germany, Japan, Italy Allies: US, UK, France, Poland, netherlands etc Soviet union as enemy of axis most definitely, neutral to allies Pan asian as enemy of japan but not necessarily ally of US. Most likely enemy of USSR -

well i mean i guess for ops id go with others, but it sure is fun. Just had my second game and got fully blapped, the thing is vulnerable XD But i like it in randoms, you just don't want to be caught of guard. And for some reason CVs seem to like that thing, even though the AA is pretty nice -

Well, i got the Huanghe too. And it would genuinely have been my last choice, even though i do like a gimmick now and then. But i played one battle in it, and while that was a top tier battle- i was genuinely happily impressed with it. Creeping smoke is a cool mechanic, its got decent AA, the torps are workable even though the spread and range are meh. Gun ballistics are awesome- you can shoot citadels with it. I will try that thing more, it might not be so crappy after all -

You could do this in training battles in a clan though. Grab an ark royal and ram some torps in a bismarck until you jam its rudder -
Le Terrible- Terrible as it seems?
Isoruku_Yamamoto replied to Isoruku_Yamamoto's topic in General Discussion
I got it :) And it seems a lot of fun & pretty good the fast reload on guns and torps is very comfortable, and the speed is phenomenal. i do find it quite disappointing that the engine boost is 2min base, unlike the 3min on Le Fantasque. Thats a clear "meh" from me. otherwise cool ship -
So i've been looking into buying Le Terrible (or actually spending doubloons on it). Buuuut.... i can't quite get a good image of whether its a good ship or not. Im not hearing serious complaints about it being weak, but then again i'm not hearing anything whatsoever pleading to it as a good ship. Basically the best youtube reviews i can find are from ~10 months back, and then it was an absolutely terrible ship supposedly. It got buffed slightly, but in reviews from ~3 months back i can't figure out if it actually became decent or not. I really liked the Vauquelin and i'm enjoying the Le Fantasque too, just not sure Le Terrible would live up to expectations. What i think i'd like: - Speed - Gun ballistics & damage - Torpedo damage, handling and reload Cons: - Torpedo speed compared to other frenchies - Gun reload - Bloom. Now that may be fixed soon, and then this ship becomes a lot more viable i guess? I've read LWMs review on it (https://forum.worldofwarships.com/topic/173415-premium-ship-review-112-le-terrible/ ) but that I consider myself an experienced player with a taste for DDs and i can accustom to weird ships, but for this one my main question is actually: am i not simply getting a heavily downgraded Le Fantasque if i'd get it? Definitely! For instance, i think the Minotaur legendary is pretty bad. While you'll be able to lay a really large smokescreen, you can no longer properly smoke up continously, and you also lose some concealment. Bad trade if you ask me, but to some it would seem appealing. In other cases such as the Yamato upgrade, it is a very good tradeoff

submarines SUBMARINES - discussion, feedback, opinions

What kind of timeframe can i be looking at before i can test this stuff? As in, can i consider deinstalling the test server already or should i get an invite in near future? -
Sure, but i gave the example as a combination. Smokescreen duration extension can be tremendously useful on british DDs, the Haida & Perth, i can imagine Kutuzov, and probably others. On USN it decreases your performance though. It is important to weigh the advantages against possible drawbacks of the upgrade itself, and then to using the upgrade slot.

Im not saying this happens to me, because my god i watch out for this in a Saipan. But you started this topic about exactly the Saipan, and you claim you can't deplane CVs. When a Saipan is matched up against an Enterprise, the only limitation to how quickly the Saipan can be deplaned is how fast it can bring 2x3 groups in the air. That is genuinely the only limitation. Enterprise fighters will kill off a full Saipan squad if i'm not mistaken- and otherwise the remainders can be wiped by some AA easily. Surely most CV captains won't allow this to happen, but saying that a CV can't be deplaned is weird- it can, and in the case of Saipan it is terribly easy as well.

Best option to date is in my opinion Engine boost modification, specifically for French destroyers. U give up something not too big to get a huge boost to engine boost. Worst is: Smoke generator modification for USN destroyers. You give up both an upgrade slot and smoke screen time to be able to lay a larger smokescreen. But USN DDs already have very long deployment times (30s) so you dont need it. In addition, it makes it harder to continously smoke up.

The Saipan is currently in a lretty bad spot among tier 8 carriers. It works fine in tier 8 battles, but in tier X battles you rush through planes like crazy. In addition, DoT effects are largely worthless since theyll be repaired 90% of time. Edit: the strike potential on saipan is pretty okay though, but you need low AA battles for it to work well

Submarines Beta Test: Are You Ready to Submerge?
Isoruku_Yamamoto replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
active players have a next-to 0% chance as well. The thing is they have a very small cap of players, which is by en large taken already by supertesters, WG staff and community contributors. Next to no normal players. -

Le Terrible- Terrible as it seems?
Isoruku_Yamamoto replied to Isoruku_Yamamoto's topic in General Discussion
Well i mean it doesnt change open water kiting directly, but it does mean that if you want to go dark you can use LoS breaking mechanics such as smokescreens, islands etc, while you previously couldnt -
PLEASE unify the consumables hotkeys
Isoruku_Yamamoto replied to Aotearas's topic in General Discussion
I really think though that all you guys really want is to locate your consumables freely between RTYUI. I cannot imagine any of you would want to have to press K or " for a torpedo reload booster. And then we're not even at the fuel smoke & submarine consumables yet.- 178 replies

In return the distance at which manoeuvring helps for the target was increased, so it mainly helps against potato targets. At least, thats what i understand so far
