ST, changes to ricochet angles of SAP shells
Isoruku_Yamamoto replied to shonai's topic in Development Blog
Well you could see long reload as a gimmick. Equal dpm under faster reload wont help that much against saturated or well angled targets, so that doesnt solve too much imo. The armour scheme on genova at least is very useful but specific. It is more useful than furutakas for instance, but going broadside is still a terrible plan. I also think the italian regular AP looks fine if i can judge it just by genova. SAP is my only issue, and the way to address that is improving this angle. Im just curious if 5deg improvement is enough -
ST, changes to ricochet angles of SAP shells
Isoruku_Yamamoto replied to shonai's topic in Development Blog
Yeah well i honestly think the Genova is quite a good ship when it comes to AP and torpedos, but many people are scared off by the long reload. i find the great AP ballistics, shell behaviour and citadel potential to more than offset the reload time. Oneshotting tier 7 cruisers is no joke IMO. Not sure is a tier 5 ship should be balanced around a 20s reload, but i kinda like it. Not every ship has to be the same. I wouldnt necessarily buy the Genova though. The SAP is the main thing holding the Genova back and that needs severe buffs, what i'd like to see is a small alpha reduction (10%) in exchange for 75 deg or even 80deg ricochet angles. Current ricochet angles make them useless -
submarines SUBMARINES - discussion, feedback, opinions

The myth, the legend. Over a month after the initial message i am still awaiting any sort of response to how this testing is going to take place. Will i actually be able to take part in testing? I have a huge test client installed under the assumption that i would be, but no such luck so far. Any update? -
ST, changes to ricochet angles of SAP shells
Isoruku_Yamamoto replied to shonai's topic in Development Blog
The base ship stats on Genova at least are fine. Yes the reload is long, but its quite stealthy, fast, manoeuvrable and it can oneshot a myoko. It seems to have excellent krupp value on the AP too. The torpedo arcs and reload are very generous, which make that a useful weapon in close combat, and it has decent armour. Maybe not a ship for everyone, but its a good ship. Now the SAP is a different story since in most cases it is inherently bad. I understand that giving SAP no ricochet angle (thats 90deg) would be OP really. My point is that currently you have s shell thats meant to deal with angled cruisers/ BBs, except it cant. And thats not good. Which is why the buff is good, but i genuinely think it should be more than a 5deg increase -
ST, changes to ricochet angles of SAP shells
Isoruku_Yamamoto replied to shonai's topic in Development Blog
I only own Genova, but unlike many other ppl i dontthink it needs a DPM or RoF buff. Instead, this change is exactly what it needs: better functioning of the SAP. The proposed change 65 to 70deg is too small though, thericochet angles should be 75deg minimum. Right now some british cruisers have equally good AP ricochet angles as italian SAP. SAP should detonate virtually always with the option for pen and non pen. The key feature in the 0.8.7 announce was this: They may ricochet after hitting their target, but they do have better ricochet angles than AP shells So lets make that happen. 75-80deg ricochet angle makes perfect sense. Only ricochetting off angle bow/hull armour, not off superstructures -
Its strong, but the SAP is very weak against any non DD. Might land good hits on a BB every now and then but generally not. Its not reliable at all. The AP is very good though, great ballistics and good punch. Have already oneshotted a Myoko in it. Torps can also be useful and reload sooo fast. My score: 7/10 Would be 8 if SAP was good, 9 if it also had fuel smoke on top

Is the Kurfurst worth the FDG grind?
Isoruku_Yamamoto replied to RegnumIrae's question in Q&A Section
It is not worth the grind, i can tell you that while i dont have the GK yet. F der G is absolute garbage ans you do NOT want to grind it. Buy it and slowly get some XP, to accumulate xp over roughly two years maybe -
All DD's nerfed... seriously?? Who got hurt??

Then lets c+p it shall we? https://worldofwarships.eu/en/news/game-updates/update-089-italian-cruisers/ -
Its getting confusing now eh... The whole "stop shooting me" is amazing indeed You can be like okay, in half a minute and then proceed to sling "only" fourhundred extra shells on them. The 360° turret rotation is amazing The fire chance is insane manoeuvrability is very good even if speed is somewhat low I run a less skilled captain & i think slightly different build, but it is one of my favourite ships really
-
Okay okay, thats my secret too. So far (like 10 battles only though) i average around 110k damage
-
Friesland is an amazing ship. Take IFHE while not taking Concealment Expert- trust me, its a superb gunboat and you don't need to be that stealthy in it. Consumables are fine really, but i do agree the health pool is somewhat low- which is why you should pick up survivability expert

Seasoned veteran looking for Competitive Clan for Season 9 onward
Isoruku_Yamamoto replied to LeGiry's topic in Looking for a Clan
Hi there! We over at BBMM are a gaming community tailored for fun, but our WoWS part of the business is slowly stepping up the game. Not saying we're truly competitve, but we do try to get better at CBs and even participated (lets stop there) in the KotS tournament. We have most clan bonusses unlocked & do things like division, operation and team gameplay, as well as own events & giveaways. Clan is english speaking, although we probably have some folks that speak baguette. While we may not be that competitive, we surely do try to step up our game & proffesionalize it a bit, so if middle ground sounds like a plan to you then you might be in the right spot with us. As for somers/ Stalingrad: IMO you have solid options with Henri IV, Gearing and Shimakaze, especially with the Salem and Mino as backup, so i won't necessarily tell you what to do there. -
Hey bud, can't we just have your main account with discord? :D

Average player looking for clan.
Isoruku_Yamamoto replied to Flintstoner's topic in Looking for a Clan
Hi! We over at BBMM would gladly have you. We are quite active in division & operations gameplay and certainly do play clan battles. Even though we're basically a pan-european clan, all of our members speak english and english is our sole communication language. We have a whole lot of benefits unlocked, working towards the third coal upgrade right now. I'll send you a DM with a link to our discord. If you're interested please join our discord to have a chat with me or one of the other recruiters. Grtz Isoruku_Yamamoto -
Idea for reimplamantation of the IJN Kitakami
Isoruku_Yamamoto replied to Major_Damage225's topic in General Discussion
Look, i want the kitakami back, as a meme ship. But it wont work in randoms. 20eu for coop, operations & ecent modes, plus ranked and CBs. Lets go. -
Well i equip the 20km but still preferably use them at sub-4km range. I do use them when leaving a flank, just throw them at island passages and such. But theyre best for superclose BB or cruiser engagements, due to good torping angles & great armour scheme on the yoshino
-
Any news on this? I havent noticed anything nearly as exciting as the steam sale.
-
For those who got GENOVA via the random/"random" 22-part queue, at which place did you get it?
Isoruku_Yamamoto replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
First here. Seems like a meh-ship, but nice to have an SAP crew trainer ship. 203mms at tier 5 can be fun also -
Hello all, In steams summer sale WoWS had some magnificent offers on steam, with no offers on the regular WG accounts. We were promised "great deals" in our own summer sale or later, but so far i havent seen a 12eu haida +2500doubloon bundle show up yet. Did i miss that? Come on guys, you still owe us a good comeback on that
-
Steam Haida bundle- im still waiting
Isoruku_Yamamoto replied to Isoruku_Yamamoto's topic in General Discussion
They were a steam summer sale DLC. We were promised similar or at least "good alternative" deals outside of steam, but best we got was 50% off the worst tier 5s -
https://wiki.wargaming.net/en/Ship:Surveillance_Radar_Data For info on the ships that have radar & the radar stats. A ship that has access to radar doesnt always have it available in battle (RN CL, PA DD, Salem, US heavy cruisers technically, and some more)
-
So, as the owner of a missouri you'd sound like an interesting target to me. Basically there are a couple main points with radar: -be aware WHICH ships have radar - know WHAT RANGE thise radars are - know how long those radars last - pay attention to WHERE to ships ARE. If you are outside 12km of the nearest radar ship, youre good. But never drop attention, cause in a missouri nothing is more fun than sneaking up on a smoked up RN cruiser. Playing DDs can certainly help you familiarise with the struggles of radar, RN cruisers are probably the harshest line to learn to deal with such mechanics. Lining up the circle is not the problem when ppl hit you after youre radarred btw, the delay is only 6 seconds and some people (including me) like doing blind shots on positions when you use your guns, based on the tracers. One of the most important pieces of advice i can give for RN CLs is NEVER go full broadside to enemies, even when youre in smoke. If ppl blind you youre done. Angling will help also when you do get radarred. Doesnt help against a missouri sneaking up behind you, but the minimap is for that

I got the same thing. So freaking lucky :D
