Smoke fire detection for high tier Italian cruisers
Isoruku_Yamamoto replied to valoaa's topic in General Discussion
Well i havent really used the italians much yet, but it would occur to me as though they greatly benefit from the LoS reset change. So when your fuel smoke or whatever its called is about to go down, stop firing, and if you dont fire for 2s you can go dark even if you were detected while shooting in smoke, right? Since it does count as a LoS-breaking mechanic -
How about a commander thats somewhat aimed at CV's?
Isoruku_Yamamoto replied to Spearhawk1969's topic in General Discussion
Well, the Shinano was known for being planned with Ohka aircraft. Not gonna happen though -

Fair, fair. The Shinano is actually famous for a variety of reasons, but obviously less for its own war efforts since it got sunk before it actually was put into active service. It still is the largest warship ever sunk by a sub though, it was built on a Yamato-hull, and was bound to carry rocket propelled human bombs (Ohka's). In my opinion a ship with a very rich history, even if its quite short. Also, since were having this discussion today i couldnt not mention it right. You can expect Isoruku_Yamamoto to have a hand for japanese ships, and the Shinano was commissioned on this date 75 years ago ;) (apparently, i only saw that when i looked it up) P.S. I'd be quite cool with any coal, steel or FXP CV really, who knows they might put the Implacable out like that- although it seems to me that the Implacable might be scrapped entirely. The Illustrous-class you mention was already included btw, the Indomitable is an Illustrous-class, or i'm terribly mistaken -

Why are premium ships unavailable in training rooms?
Isoruku_Yamamoto replied to Filipin00's topic in General Discussion
I imagine the reason to simply be the following two-step: 1. Nearly all ships are regular or share the armour model with a regular ship. 2. Tech tree lines can be added entirely at once, whereas each individual premium ship would have to be added to the options list & interface. Also, there are duplicate tech tree positions for premiums, so simply adding a premium list is quite cumbersome. For instance: we have double US cruisers and IJN DDs, but in premiums its more complex. German CV, 4x US tier 7 cruiser, no US tier 6 cruiser -
Replay included - Can someone tell me what is wrong with my aim?
Isoruku_Yamamoto replied to Pappus's topic in General Discussion
F der G has one very potent weapon: its hull. I aim to ram someone each battle in it. Guns and secondaries suck tbh -
Comparison of "Snowflakes 2018" to upcoming "Snowflakes 2019" ...
Isoruku_Yamamoto replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
You may be missing my point though. While the initial drops may be lower, you can earn a Puerto Rico tier X cruiser and chances for premium ships & other goodies (unspecified as of yet) on top of the specified, lower drops. That makes this event fairly interesting and potentially better than last years IMO -

Isoruku_Yamamoto replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
So i have no idea if anyone pointed this out, but it looks as though the normal rewards have indeed dropped quite a bit, particularly the steel rewards. In my opinion two things are being forgotten then though: the build of Puerto Rico, which you could argue to be a steel ship (unvoluntarily bought for those who will actually get it, but it will be a good reward) and the new years containers with among others chances for premium ships. Knowing WG these chances will be absolutely rubbish, but please do surprise me- if the tier 10 containers drop a ship every now and then it is actually a very good trade respective to the steel one got before. Grtz I_Y -
Well its all about which tresholds it will or will not pen right. With IFHE as you mentioned it will pen 25mm. Thats a rather specific treshold, but it will allow you to pen most tier 7-10 cruisers on their plating directly, as long as you dont hit the armour belt. Im not sure if its really worth it but for me it works so far, might revisit it later
-
IFHE makes a fairly large difference. You start doing say 1k base per salvo on a BB. As said, i plan on going for a pretty specific build, which doesnt include AFT or concealment. Imo its also fun to switch things around sometimes, especially with a captain like this
-
Well your build is fairly standard for friesland. Also i dont stick IFHE on any ship without looking at tresholds and for 120mm the raw damage significantly increases

Poll: Do you have Russian/Soviet Legendary Commander "Nikolay Kuznetsov"? If not will you get him for Coal (175K)?
Isoruku_Yamamoto replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
~100k would be acceptable. 175k? Thats nearly a full tier 10 premium ship, no thanks. It is outrageous that this commander and the french one were so difficult to obtain and there should be a retake on how to obtain them, for a low coal price (50k normally), a campaign or a collection series. And then just make some compensation for those who did get the commanders -
Hi! As of yesterday i can proudly say that we are in fact in the Storm League. We're a fun-oriented clan but our CB effort is becoming more serious each season. We'd be interested to have you, please join our discord for a chat. Since were a fun oriented clan we dont have hard requirements on CB presence etc, but we have a sign up roster so its clear upfront who will or will not be playing. Free sign up normally. And if you'd want to be a fleet commander, we more than welcome you to have a go with that too. For more info please join our discord (PM sent). Grtz Isoruku_Yamamoto

Facepalm, i thought you meant Ranked Battle first and i was like dude what. But no i agree, one in the buteau makes sense
-
I suppose it should be fairly easy, even with cruisers. Ive shot one for 55k in my Yamato in CB using only two turrets, so with a BB its fairly easy in real situations. I dont know the details of the armour scheme but plowing through the broadside is easy. Think the forward and aft citadels will also work, and maybe the two casemates (unlike kremlin, which is largely impervious to those)
-
Also, im planning on getting the Smolensk but i only am at 75% of the coal
-
Well, i only have 11 or so battles in it so far, but it works for me. I got 110k average in it atm (too many ships problem, dont get to play my toys). The Friesland has a tremenous damage output and you can actually stay hidden against cruisers and BBs still. You just need to play it as a second line destroyer more or less, while you are still able to knock out any DD that you run into. The only problem is actually spotting enemy DDs
-
No, i dont have it range built either. I dont use AFT and i dont use the range upgrade either. I just use it high aggression really, although i do try to stay at 10km plus against BBs so thats sort of range tanking. I try to stay hidden in smoke and behind cover as much as possible, or do full open water kiting lol. And im having a lot of fun with it
-
Friesland is my first DD to not get the Concealment skill. Simply because im turning it into a dakka build... In my opinion it requires at least both SE and BFT, while it will also greatly benefit from DE and SI. As a four point skill i take IFHE over concealment expert, and in the build im planning to take i dont have room for two 4 pt skils. The high aggression build works for me so far even though i dont have a 19 pt captain yet

submarines SUBMARINES - discussion, feedback, opinions
Isoruku_Yamamoto replied to WG_Lumberjack's topic in General Discussion
Well, this is simply not true. Far not everyone who posts regularly is a CC. In addition, such specialty topics will be a reason for people who do have a YT account to definitely make a vid about it even if they dont put up vids often. But there are maybe 5 vids of non-CCs on youtube. You can argue that the testing is done with plenty of regular players, but forum feedback surely suggests something entirely different. -
we need premium/ coal subs though

Isoruku_Yamamoto replied to WG_Lumberjack's topic in General Discussion
Round two already passed in full discretion, only tested by WG personel, CCs, STers and maybe ten other players. There are videos on both round 1 and 2, but virtually only from CCs , suggesting nearly no regular players have been allowed on the test server. I havent even been able to get my hands on a replay, let alone a test account. -
there are no RB reward ships anymore mate, they got steel for that instead. RB rewards are steel and special camouflages. My expectation is that two will be available for coal eventually while one will be steel, but i could be wrong obvs
