[Poll - Editable Entries] Did you get 300 "Soviet Tokens" drop from "Soviet Containers" via "Directives" and/or "Daily Shipments" during the WoWs v0.9.4 event?
Innocnt_Civilian replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Hey, I got lucky with a 300 in my very first crate. Since then nothing but 5 with a few 10 & 15. Out of curiousity I tracked my results and added my own expected value calculation. TL;DR: Expected value for me is 16.90. With all crates I expect to get the T8 camo but fall short of the T8 ship. It would need more crowdsourcing input with the obvious bias that people who share results either are lucky and want to brag or are unlucky and want to complain. Either way we might end up with skewed results even if people truthfully report all their drops. -
Oh gee. Thanks. As a former DD main I can finally return to playing destroyers without being mercilessly focused from minute one with Rocket Planes chunking me for 3-5k each pass. Definitely the final balance change CVs needed.

dd nerf Huge DD nerf might be coming for patch 0.9.1
Innocnt_Civilian replied to Jethro_Grey's topic in General Discussion
it is not intended for DDs. This is just the start of SUBS. That module will be the go-to excuse to not balance subs. Oh wait, they cannot balance subs and said so themselves. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ddN37fZf0h4 "It does not fit the gameplay" and the tests on the PT have shown that so far. But this is now an end of lifecycle F2P game. So it is time to milk. And subs is the last big content they can use for that. Did not extend my premium time for a reason. -
Player Numbers. How much are they actually down?
Innocnt_Civilian replied to MistaBoo's topic in General Discussion
Excellent analysis! Together with the video from NoZoup you posted earlier, I think a more varied picture is emerging. NoZoups argument about the yearly trend and seasonal fluctuations is likely true. The snowflake & PEF event definitely led to a spike with higher player numbers and battles played. Even without the CV rework I felt kind of exhausted after that month of grinding and would have taken it more easy. Number of battles is an important figure that he ignored, though. It measures activity beyond just logging in and catches players who log in but not play. Here is my view on what Apollo11 contributed here: Yearly trend of player numbers is up, which is good news for a game we all love (NoZoup) Seasonal fluctations make the post-xmas drop impossible to link directly to CV rework (NoZoup) Number of battles sharply declined after update/CV rework (tikonderoga/Apollo11) CV rework biggest impact is on high tier DDs with 2 instead of 3 per game, less players &less battles (tikonderoga/Apollo11) Thanks for the good insights! -
Player Numbers. How much are they actually down?
Innocnt_Civilian replied to MistaBoo's topic in General Discussion
Yep, that is what I said in my wall of text. Back to November 2018 numbers. If you as product owner, argued for a one year project to rework a class in order to revitalize the game (and prepare it for the inevitable console port), then seeing your numbers return to average after only 2 weeks is a big fail. You want players: 1) to jump in to check out the changes (peak in DAU directly after update) AND 2) to stick around (sustained higher average level afterwards) Good content update follow this pattern of 1) original baseline, 2) update peak & 3) new, higher baseline. WOWS doesn't - Because the CV rework is just toxic. Looking at player number here in this threat they alienated 8k DD players (down about 2k) and likely BB & CA players in some form. What did they gain? RTS CV players are not pleased either. Don't get me wrong, it is still worth it to WG because now the game can be played with a controller for the upcoming console port. RTS gameplay blocked the port, now they can and will publish it. That ROI is likely great. It is just for their current PC player base this update might turn out to be rather costly pyrrhic victory. -

Great work. I particularly like the visualization of DD players dropping while CV players go up. Rocket planes and perma spot. This crap needs to change. I also like to see the numbers dropping. Players need to vote with their feet. Don't play. Don't pay. I haven't played a single game since 0.8.0. Just enjoy and watch the flames from afar. https://stats.wotapi.ru/stats/wows/eu/total is back online and the numbers are starting to look pretty dire. Great stuff! Worst possible stats for a product owner when shortly after a big update, your average DAU drops below your average before. And it does ...big time. Explanation: Even if you discount the high activity of the xmas period (PEF grind = 30k peak on sundays), then the baseline is 25k peak on Sundays (october/november) . Last sunday, Feb 17, it was only 25k. That shortly after CV rework a drop back to your baseline is a catastrophic result. Down 20% from the xmas period. Somebody should get into trouble right now. -
Call for boycott of the new CV gamplay.

I'm done. Right now I care enough to post this. I vote with my feet and my wallet. Churned payusers since 0.8.0: +1. -
Poll: Will you keep playing the game after v.8.0 goes live?
Innocnt_Civilian replied to Jean_Bart's topic in General Discussion
Not immediately. Gonna take a break and come back once the dust has settled and the biggest balancing issues have been eliminated through sacrifice of the blood and tears of this community. Nature of a live game but I can choose not to suffer unnecessarily. Bad timing with the PEF grind as well: "Lets take a badly performing premium BB and let users grind it endlessly for the most valuable resource to properly exhaust them. And then we hit em with insane changes to three years of established gameplay." Not really that smart. ;) -
Hello WG, experienced a funny and pretty serious bug in my NM today. I was close to the border (not hugging), shooting backwards. Suddenly my BB drives literally out of the picture, everything freezes. Picture is empty but I can shoot my guns (hear them) yet reload timers frozen. Score is updated including ships destroyed. Waited out the game not to get punished for leaving. Took two screenshots. Even better, port is empty afterwards. xD I could open a container but didnt see it, just received the rewards. First picture - my ship is about a km to the right of the fram. Second, new camo: super effective ninja :D Tried to follow the instruction of pasting the results of your diagnosis tool. It has been a whole episode of Mad Men and that thing is at 45%. I will instruct my heirs in my will to pass it along once it is ready. ;) (really not salty btw ^^, just a fellow game dev who understands) So here is the breakdown of the system: - win 10 64 pro - i5 6500 3.2ghz - 16gb - 970 gtx - 4k 32in gsync screen (upscaled from 1440p for WOWS) - version is updated, played more than a dozen battles without any problems yesterday. Maybe this has been reported, then forget about it. Too bad though, my team had all three caps and I had 60k dmg already occupying 4 BBs. :) Obviously we lost just because of this. #wowsexcuses Seemannsgruesse !
