Set stuff on fire with low-caliber HE. Give AA support and scout for BBs. Destroy out of position CVs and DDs. Play smart. If you choose high-caliber upgrade, it is complete change of play style that will favor AP and citadel hits against enemy cruisers.. If you are just used to short reload time and fire spams, don't take it. -

This is accidentally a player that has made lots of tutorials, mostly about CVs, and has great stats. This is a bread and butter tactic. I leave 1 plane standing when I attack enemy squads with my fighters. I hover over enemy ships when I only have 1 plane left in a squad and a long trip back. How exactly is strong AA against you? Can't you click the planes you want to kill and turn it off afterwards? Do you just want to look through binocular and click-click-click while enemy CV is trying to position aircraft to attack you, but they just drop before they reach? Have you tried playing t9 CV against t9-t10 cruisers and BBs? Do you know if enemy has 3 ships together, your planes can't reach alive in a straight line, let alone reposition for their evasive maneuvers? Not considering AA skill of cruisers or enemy fighters, just passive AA. -

My experience with JCVs so far: In t4-t5, where the CVs are "OP" because enemy lacks AA, the planes are very slow. Torpedoes are as easy to evade as usual, planes are hard to position for drop. Inexperienced players mostly. In t6-t7, you get the insane AA skill of cruisers. Further more, they may get captain skills to improve AA. Players play well. In t8-t9, you further get the insane AA of t8-t9 cruisers and battleships. Planes drop like flies. Very experienced players. Damage of bombers is the same as t4. In all tiers, if you are IJN CV, your squads are destroyed by US fighters. Any enemy CV with fighter loadout will greatly reduce the offensive power of bombers. To be completely honest, t9 and t10 CVs could use some buffs. -

Each choice has it's own perks. At high tiers you always hive fighters, even in the torpedo layout. Most players just don't know how to use their fighters efficiently and put them hovering over some BB. -

With all those topics about how planes are OP, I feel like a newbie when a BB or CA dodges 90% of my torpedoes. CV could use some buffs in high tiers. Maybe air superiority should give +1 TB. -

I can dodge enemy TBs while driving an AIRCRAFT CARRIER with rudder shift time of 10 years. I pity the DD players that get hit by more than 1 torpedo from my 3 TB drops. -

I feel the game is very enjoyable for non-paying players. The Albany (forgot the name?) free premium is just gravy.

When CV players uses all his bombers to sink a ship and needs >5min to fly back, rearm them and get in good position for another drop is OP. If he doesn't get a kill, but hits for a lot of damage it is still OP. If he even scouts the enemy DD, it is OP, because it is unintentional. When any other ship deals 20,000 dmg in 15km range with one salvo, or drops 8 torpedoes every 90 seconds, or does whatever, it is OK. Sent from my Shokaku, while shift-clicking my bombers towards your vessel. -

I'm rather satisfied that cruisers prefer to spec for main battery/dps rather than AA, not escort, etc. Maybe if they group up they can sink a battleship like that, who knows. Makes life easier for CV players. -
A message directed to WG about 0.4.1 and Mods... is this really true?

I am surprised there are available mods that can change the gameplay for players and give them an edge over others, e.g. a skin that shows the weak points of an enemy ship. Such modding will ruin the game for the average player, who won't bother with extra installations. +1 for file encryption. -

As an avid and hated CV player, I take great pleasure in reading the comments here. I take special care to single out an enemy ship and make him feel completely powerless, even though my planes could be more useful elsewhere. No AA is too strong, no distance is too far for my squadrons. The only option for my tear-and-sea water-engulfed target is to come here and compose sentences about my prowess. Pray that you don't face me in the high seas. -

Don't escort your CVs. Play pub yolo game. Nobody really cares, if they ask you don't have to do it. Planes shot down give some experience, not sure how much but it adds up in big games. -

You get 2 TBs at higher tiers, but never 3 TBs. USN TBs have more planes per squad, tighter spread and more damage per torpedo compared to IJN. -
