    Secondaries

Oh yea, 25k damage and 36% hitrate... much bad....need buff /s. Never mind the balance implications of having the equivalent of a light cruiser strapped onto a BB yea.

    Secondaries

Well then, that's your answer. At T7+, you get -60% dispersion on your secondaries with that skill. So the devs balanced it by allow it to only be fired at designated targets.

    Secondaries

Do you have that T5 2ndary battery skill? With that captain skill, the guns will only fire at the designated target. W/o it, as is my experience, both sides will fire at whatever is in range/LoS.

    Amagi

I definitely do not recommend selling mid tier ships to buy a high tier one.

    Amagi

Right now I have 23 million credits and I'm debating on whether or not to buy the Mogami or the Amagi. Any opinions would be most appreciated.

    Soviet Battleships

I would imagine armor differential in era would've been compenstated for the increased krupp val. (in game) for the shells used per tier.

    Sea Shepherd

They tried to foul the propellers and rudder of a ship sailing in near the Antarctic, that's pretty damn close to attempted murder considering how dangerous the seas are down there. For the money they spend on outfitting 3 fast ships, they could've funded a pretty large PR campaign in Japan to further their cause. Instead, they provide fodder for the nationalists and its now for the more apathetic Japanese to support their whalers out of "well, we're not gonna capitulate to these intimidation tactics from some foreigners". edit: ICJ ruling was on JARPA II. The current expedition which is a heavily modified program (NEWREP-A, colloquially known as JARPA III), is a pretty decent way of rules lawyering out of the spirit of the ruling. So the Aussies need to bring another suit on the new program.

    Soviet Battleships

Considering how armor quality isn't modeled in game since the beginning, the whole plate quality problem will probably not be present for Proj. 23 and 24.

    Sea Shepherd

IIRC those guys were declared "pirates" by the US 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. Had to pay the whalers like 2.5 mill for violating an injunction.

    Svetlana painboat (New Karlsruhe)

If we're talking about on on paper velocity in game, Furutaka beats the Kirov as Kirov in game fires it shells at a reduced 800 mps. Furutaka from the previous datamine(s) has a 870 mps shell speed for its stock 200mm gun, and a 840mps shell speed for the upgraded 203 mm. And back onto the Svetlana, I've thought it would end up being laughlibly OP since it seemed as though it is an Atlanta in T4 (well, w/o too much RoF, but still).

    Furutaka historical final hull

Why would you couple 3 RPM with that abysmal shell velocity. The only reason most piss poor arc guns in game work well is because of RoF. That problem was when the guns were firing full charge (920 mps during trials) IIRC. In game it's down to 800 mps, which is a hair faster than Cleveland's shells, no way it should have worse dispersion than flatter shooting guns.

Split Topic: Cruisers > Buff Atago dpm and range

What? Are you using a machine translator?
  15. byronicasian

Is the Atago worth it right now?

Having both Atago and MK. Atago fits my playstyle a lot better. The range on the Kutuzov means jack if the Krupp value for the HE is so poor you get 700 dmg rolls on armored targets at best. The detect-ability and lack of heal makes it inferior to the Atago IMO. Lack of range doesn't matter on Atago when ships can't detect you until 12km, even less w. captain skills and upgrades.

    Buff Atago dpm and range

Lol...are people still asking for Atago buffs? This thing performs better than the MK in WR and average damage w. the most recent stats, which accounts for the MK receiving the offset buffs. Even with the Atago being available to every single window licker that can afford her. MK has range I'll give you that, but the krupp value on her HE is so bad you'll barely do damage on armored targets even when it hits. It's just as easy to citadel a MK as an Atago, but the Atago has heal, and far stealthier.

Tirpitz just a bad dream or recently nerfed?

Pretty sure just confirmation bias. I have no problems with my Tirpitz atm. Nor do I believe any of the Cpt skills nerf even touched the Tirpitz...like at all. If anything, most of the Tirpitz AA got buffed last patch. IIRC, data mine on gamemodels3d also show no change in shell values.

    IJN Mogami

Because let's be honest here. Myoko is absurdly good to the point of borderline OP. Hell, starting with 16.1km range while the Pensacola needs to grind through an FCS module to not even match the Myoko's range. And having to start with worse 8"/50 guns?

Some interesting info around the world

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I also meant total shells per minute. 32 RPM total means 4 RPM per gun. So when I bring up 5 RPM, I meant I expected the County's to have close to the current T7 total RoF of 40+.

Some interesting info around the world

32 RPM Countys? I would've expected something closer to 5 RPM per gun/40+RPM to match the Pensacola's and Myoko's throw weight (even assuming a RoF nerf to 4 RPM for the Myoko to equalize it w. the Pensacola).

Some interesting info around the world

Considering they haven't telegraphed any Aoba nerf atm (like they are with the Myoko range nerf) and are still considering slotting Tone in T6. Could that be an indication of them wanting to keep the current RoF? As mentioned before, Tone atm has 4 rpm per gun giving a total of 32 RPM married to a weird (possibly unoptimal) turret arrangement with Aoba's 33 rpm. Considering all the possible paper designs to replace Cleveland, you would still have 32ish RPM ships (7 or 8 gun Scout Cruiser). The York class would also have a fairly high RoF also w/o breaking historical parameters.

Some interesting info around the world

I thought they fixed the height issue on the Hipper and Nurenberg already? But onto the Aoba, if they are planning on slotting the York in T6 along with posting showing that seem to be favoring to put Tone (32 rpm) in T6. Aoba will probably have to keep its inflated RoF to match. The Brit. 8 in gun has a lot of play in terms of setting RoF (3-6 rpm). So if Tone is going to be the benchmark for how many total RPM WG wants in T6, you would probably see York pushing 5.5-6 rpm per gun).
  23. byronicasian

Some interesting info around the world

Same guns, different turrets (Aoba's turrets had hoist problems that limited it to 3 RPM per gun, Myoko and other CAs had the same guns, but can manage 4 RPM). http://www.navweaps.com/Weapons/WNJAP_8-50_3ns.htm (Virtually all 8 inch guns you see on IJN cruisers bar Zao is the one linked). In game, they were buffed massively.
  24. byronicasian

Some interesting info around the world

True, but if they're planning on moving Tone to T6..... you'll still have a 30-32 RPM cruiser there (assuming a nerf to RoF of the Tone's gun to something around 3.7 rpm). That and you could also give the York 5 RPM per gun also since apparently that's the upper range of the RoF scale for the British 8 incher anyways. An 8 gun scout cruiser with 4+ rpm (like the one in the game files, or any of the Pepsi proposals) can still be balanced against the overbuffed Aoba also.
  25. byronicasian

Some interesting info around the world

    Aoba is 6 x 5.5 RPM giving a fairly hefty 33 RPM. Tone's 8 x 4 RPM bring it to 32 RPM.
