Lol I guess in picture form its something like this. You have to remember that while strafe is fast, your target is moving as well, so when you begin the strafe it should not be aimed at where the enemy planes would be next as your strafe begins but where it would be next next if that makes any sense. -

More info? Good strafes are all about prediction. If you misjudge the enemy flight path or the enemy is paying attention then you'll miss yr strafes -
Was watching Notser's video and he was talking about a single balanced loadouts for CVs. Given Kaga and Enterprise's unique drop pattern do u guys think WG may tweak the loadouts and then balance them via the drop pattern?

Why not. Its amusing and somewhat effective in an case plus if you're training a USN BB or CA captain you probably have AFT and BFT. Even a USN DD captain may have it if you go on a AA built so the only skill they probably won't have is manual secondaries. Secondaries are partially psychological in any case. When you go near a BB that can rain shells on you at long distances, in this case 9.1 km, even if they're not player controlled its kinda makes you want to run away especially if you're in a CA or DD.

Doesn't seem like it can do much against same/higher tier ships and that W drop pattern seems pretty bad. An all rounded CV but definitely not specialized in any area with those tier 7 planes. WG should give it tier 8 fighters and DBs but keep those TBs at tier 7.

@El2aZeR give it some time I guess. Ops just started and people are probably just starting to get a feel of it. Btw do you think its worth it to buy back the Inde and retrain a captain for the Ops?

On the issue of Ranger just play the 1/1/1. 26 games in, I'm doing fairly well with the load out according to the server stats and I'm almost at the Lexington. Then it'll be strike and hopefully not reported too frequently for not having a fighter.

Now that you mention it, it does feel like a Hiryu. Hopefully they'll add some twist to it apart from the loadout otherwise it'll be kinda boring.

Was just in a match between a friendly Enterprise and an AS Lexington. 2 observations: - The fighters will outright lose in a click fight against Lexi fighters and will do so pretty fast even with friendly AA, so perhaps strafing like how you would with the Saipan may be more effective. - The 2 TB squadron, while looking somewhat OP on paper and brings back memories of Midway and its 2 TB squad is pretty weak. 1 TB squad alone in the AA zone of an Amagi (weakest among the tier 8 BBs I feel) literally got shredded. So i guess its not really that OP as it seems where you can brazenly fly into the AA zone of a NC and expect those TBs to come out unscathed. Then again its still a work in progress.

IMO its got nothing to do with the graphics (not exactly). When u play a DD, CA or BB you're just playing one ship with at most an additional fighter/spotter that hovers around your ship. A CV on the other hand has to control multiple squadrons of planes that can go anywhere on the map and do whatever you need them to do. So for example when you play the Haku your computer has to process the action of 9 different "objects" where as for other class its just 1. Therefore it just lags since your computer can't keep up with the amount of processing needed. At least that's what I think from a non-IT expert perspective.

Your PC/laptop getting old and can't handle the processing for multiple squadrons? On my old laptop while playing the Hakuryu and Taiho on the test server they lagged so much I had to resort to manual torping on quite a occasions. Time to get a new computer

Was playing a game in my Bismark earlier. Was pushing one flank with a Mino, Fletcher and a few other ships since we outnumber the enemy on that flank. The Großer Kurfürst on my team was on that flank as well but lo and behold at 12 min in after I was sunk and the other ships were damaged he was still on full health. Not a single HP missing. The guy had spent that entire time sailing along the map border while we were pushing. After everyone on that flank died and no one was spotting for him anymore, he decided to go forward and got sunk 3 min later. Checked him out and the guy obviously bought his way to tier 10. I mean 26 games in Bayern, 10 games in Gneis, 5 games in the Bismark and 48 in the Friedrich Why oh why

Oh you have no idea how effective a Missouri is against a DD . The alpha potential of a BB is so much higher than a CA that what a CA need several salvos to do a BB can do in one. Slap on radar and go secondaries and you have a BB with a 9.1 km DD exclusion zone.

The thing is you already get more cash for participating rather than camping at the back the entire game and lob shells at 20+km. Or am I reading what you said wrongly? -

You already get more money by doing all that compared to a ship that camp at the back along with sinking ships, so what are you talking about? That extra money you earn offsets the repair cost so you earn more than a camper. You're not trolling are you. -

What tier are you at? If you're at tier 6 already I'll recommend learning how to strafe as it's the best way to deal with enemy fighters/ mass group of enemy planes. Especially for IJN fighters which are slightly weaker than their USN counterpart. Not just strafe but how to bait them etc etc. If you're at tier 4 and 5 you'll just have to try and outmaneuver the enemy fighters and use your teammates AA (excluding DDs). It applies to all tiers of CVs but given that IJN fighters don't usually win the click fight you'll have to play smarter instead and rely on your team. -
