    Imbalanced Economy cv/bb

Doubt so cause it benefits DDs and stealthy CAs as well. I feel it would encourage DDs to go forward more if possible knowing they will benefit even if they don't do that high a damage. I know they introduced that teamplay stat you get on the post battle report but said they're not gonna reward them yet at that time. Which is why I'm actually abit confused now because i remember reading somewhere recently about buffing/nerfing the reward receive for potential damage and spotting etc for the various classes but I'm unaware that they were being rewarded.

Perhaps WG should reward spotting because correct me if I'm wrong that's not getting rewarded right now? The only way you're getting credit right now as a CV is either by doing damage or by shooting down planes.
  3. Welllllll I dunno but hey at least its there

Sooo, I got to the Lexington, what now?

I would say go strike unless you really like AS alot. In either case you should upgrade the DB to the tier 8 one first since they carry the 1000 pd HE bombs, that way you can still do decent damage with the DB. Playing strike isn't really a problem unless like what VC381 say you meet an AS Lex or RNG forbid an AS Shokaku and both know what they're doing. Apart from that strike lexi is fun to play with. Played 24 battles so far in strike. Out of the 24 I think only once did a teammate bitched about me not having a fighter. Apart from that all the matches have went somewhat well except for a few here and there. I use my TB as bait/scout most of the time at the start lol. Also no AA can stop you if you stack all 3 DB together and drop on a target at the same time
  5. Look at herrjott's post. Its #5. Sale starts 7 July.
  6. Lol shouldn't you for one be glad WG introduced AP bombs? Those AP bombs barely hurt you in your DD or CA and is mostly effective against BBs. Better that than the CV dumping HE bombs on you right

    Imbalanced Economy cv/bb

I get what you mean but like I said I still earn a decent profit up till tier 8. It's tier 9 and 10 where CVs really get hit hard by the 0.5.12 patch, where WG tweaked the economy for CV. Have a look at this from a Q&A with Sub_Octavian: Source: https://thedailybounce.net/2016/10/07/world-of-warships-sub_octavian-reddit-qa-07102016/

    Imbalanced Economy cv/bb

You'll have to shoot down quite abit of plane anyway. But yeah I probably would not have sank the Ranger at the start. You could have gotten more exp and credit. To be honest I'm still ok with low and mid tier CV economy. The problem I have is tier 9 & 10 CV games where you can have a good game and still make a huge loss (compared to other classes) which was why I played that many battles in the Hiryu lol. It was only recently that I continued my CV grind past tier 7 since I should be able to cover my CV upkeep now.

CV economy was nerfed a few patches back. You earn less damaging ships than before but earn more shooting down planes.

Who the hack are testing the new CVs???

Well I guess so provided the Enterprise you go against pick the 15% health module over the speed one or knowing some players even use the mod slot since 3 million credit is too "expensive". On a side note would speed make a difference though? I think it may considering that while the Enterprise's plane may have slightly more health, they'll be exposed to the AA bubble longer.
  12. pra3y

Who the hack are testing the new CVs???

Not OP, the Enterprise. Almost every ship on OP's team would wipe his planes away given that they're tier 7. OP's plane can do it but definitely not the Enterprise's.

Who the hack are testing the new CVs???

Lol to be fair to him looking at the line up the only ship he could strike right at the start without losing all his planes was either you or the Shima. But like what Loran said it's out in the shop already and people can buy it.

You were the one who said that there is no benefit for you because the CV is so far away you can't damage it (roughly) and therefore it's unfair. I'm just showing you that there are benefits despite what you think. Sure maybe you don't shoot down tons of aircraft but you still get something plus it helps in the overall scheme of things on a tactical level. I had a match where I was in a strike lexi and the enemy in a Shokaku. Even without communicating with the Hindenburg on my team, I'm able to use his AA against the Shokaku planes. I benefit from having that Shokaku's fighter gone and he benefit from the extra exp and credit gained. I understood what you said the first time round already. But again why is it wrong? This is a game about sinking each other. CVs are affected by their own limitations, just like other class have their own limitations when compared to each other. DD has their stealth and torps, BB the firepower, range and armor and CAs well are just jack of all trade. Those limitations affect them affecting you. For example, if i use fighters to scout then I have less air cover for my team if the enemy sends his strike planes the other way while I spot your team. If I use TBs or DBs to scout, than while I am able to provide information to my team and hope they will use it, I sacrifice my strike power so your team will receive less damage from me. Everything has their own balance that some people either don't see or choose not to see. So waste 3 points on a skill that allows you to take off while the deck is on fire but also increase the plane service time by 100%? If there is a 3 pt skill that allow your guns and torpedo tubes to fire while damage but increase the reload time by 100% will you bother taking it? Also, sure your 203 AP rounds have bounced off their deck but that only applies mostly to the tier 9 and 10 CVs. Even with DD HE shells you probably can citadel CVs up till tier 7. Tier 8 I'm not that sure so I won't say anything. On "...as much by something that only ever happens if you go AFK for 10 minutes or the match is already a loss is hardly a burden or trade off..." as long as the CV pushes up that is the first thing everyone shoots at. If you don't push forward then you do less strikes in exchange for that safety. If you pick the middle ground, you have to balance between not getting spotted while moving your fat ship around, scouting for the team, taking out enemy planes on one flank and taking out enemy ships on the other. Sure I agree top tier CVs are strong but the only actual thing I feel is strong is when you stack 3 squadrons of USN bombers and drop it on a target. Why? Cause it's hard to shoot down 21 planes coming at you at the same time. One after another they're weak enough to be shot down. 3 IJN Tbs? They have only 4 planes in a squad so focus firing them will take them out easily enough plus their is so much AA from tier 6,7 onwards that even without a AA CA you can shoot down plenty of planes. You've got USN DDs with their defensive AA and the Akizuki, the tier 7 and above BBs, Des Moine, Baltimore, Mino, Nep, Hindi, Hipper etc. I play enough matches to see more than 1 AA ship in a game, often quite a few. But maybe your definition of AA ship and mine is different. Well I've won games where I lost all my planes. But you know why I won them? It's because my team played well, capped and sank enough enemy ships and what I had to do was to run away and not get sunk so we all win. It's a team effort. There may be times where a CV can carry but that very dependent on alot of factors. Sure I can make some difference in a CV but how much difference can I do if my team potatoes and get sunk very fast or don't contest caps? Or if I get outplayed by the enemy CV? It may come as a surprise to you but I play all the classes in game. Sure I enjoy CV play quite alot but I put what I've learn playing CV when playing in other classes against a CV. I know how to avoid or what to do to prevent myself from getting one shot from a CV or make life difficult in general for the CV and thereby dissuade the CV from attacking me. Even against tier 10 CVs don't make much of a difference to me. So I feel weird whenever I see people say they can't do anything about CVs. Then there are those who take whatever strength a CV has while ignoring the CV's weaknesses and then claim its vastly OP and something has to be done. I'm just showing you CVs have their own weaknesses unlike what a number of people think or have misconceptions about.

    a) You benefit from shooting down a CV planes. 2 benefits actually. First as a reward you get more exp and $$$. Especially since patch 0.5.12 you get even more exp and $$$. I can't copy this reddit link for some reason so I'll just copy and paste the post here: On a tactically level the more planes you shoot down the less planes the CV has to strike you with. They're finite, unlike shells and the only way a CV can do damage apart from ramming another enemy ship. Sure you guys keep on saying "But the torps and bombs are infinite!!!!" but what is the use of those "infinite ammo" when your planes are all shot down? Sure you can argue that guns and torp tubes get damage and destroyed too but how often do they get all destroyed? DD guns use to get destroyed so often that they got buffed. You don't see WG go "Oh those pl b) If the CV forces you into a position it is not the CV's fault. Why should it be? If a BB forces you to angle towards it in your CA and another BB suddenly pops up at your broadside and one shots you is it the BB's fault? Of course not. People on the other team should be sinking you. If the CV makes it easier to sink you he's doing his job. c) A question for you. You say CVs "get to farm exp and credits without putting his own exp and credits in the for of HP on the line". Putting aside the fact that without planes a CV can't farm exp and credits what should a CV do then? Go all the way in front with the other ships and get shot at? Mind you CVs are the only class who are affected twice as much by fire. They lose health from fire and can't launch planes. They barely have enough armor, and are just huge target for everyone with that detection range. So going out in front with the other ships without the area being secured is a no no. On the other hand, if you stay far away from the engagement area, your planes have to travel from the CV to the engagement area and then back to the CV. Say about 3 mins. Then we have to factor in the detours from enemy fighters or AA ships so in the end one strike takes about 4min+. If your planes all get shot down well too bad have a time penalty. With all that time needed and a game being 20mins or shorter pray tell me how easy it is to farm? Probably 2/3 games you'll end up in 1 that you can "farm" but with AA being strong on other classes and not just CAs as well its harder for CVs to strike without sacrificing planes and if they keep on sacrificing you'll just end up with no planes left.

    The CV Captains Cabin

Well I don't have the Midway but looking at its surface detection range, which is 18.36 km without any concealment module or perk or camo I would say take it. But if you're confident with using islands as cover or prefer to lurk at the back of the map then AFT I guess.

    KMS Graf Zepplin

The Zeppelin needs Dbs. Imagine you're targeted by it's DBs and as they come in to bomb you, you hear the Jericho trumpet blaring

    Pensacola is still crap

I grind through the Pensacola before its concealment got buffed and enjoyed it. Sure before you upgrade everything it's painful but once everything has been upgraded its extremely fun. I use incoming fire alert so every time that sign lights up I just hard left or right depending on where those shells are coming from and then those shells just miss. I would go as far as to say that even though I'm always spotted miles away (pre-buff) I don't think I've ever been one shot, not with a rudder shift that RNG can't do anything about. Lol I've even charged an Iowa before and sank him while dodging his shots. Quite amusing.

    Pensacola is still crap

You forgot about the Pensacola's ridiculous rudder shift. If you know how to kite the near dd like rudder shift will allow you to dodge shots like a boss.

    Help With Nagato

Nah you shouldn't brawl (against other BBs) nor should you stop moving. Keep on moving around, use islands as cover and engage whatever target you can. Personally Nagato's armor is kinda bad so brawling with it (against other BBs) too much will just have you end up back to port faster. Don't camp either though. I think the good thing about the Nagato is it's speed and range is fairly decent for its tier. You push in if you can and if you can't then stay mid range and use cover to fight.

    Help With Nagato

It takes awhile to get use to. Just play more and you'll be fine after awhile.Try playing at mid range.

    AP dive bombers...

Well apparently according to someone else its all in RNGesus hand and turning doesn't work. Lul. That Bismark must be using hax to avoid all those bombs
  24. pra3y

Why did WG remove Midway jets?

Why not? I don't think you would want attack planes that can go very fast would you. If it's just fighter's they can provide AA faster and scout better I think.

    AP dive bombers...

    2) I'm not redefining it to my taste. That Amagi game that I shot down those planes? I was alone in a cap by myself while my team were on the flanks. That is me potatoing and putting myself in a position where I exposed myself to shots from all the enemy ships. Hence the enemy Hiryu concluded that I am a good target since a) I'm alone and b) there is no friendly AA nearby. Blindly going forward alone while your entire team is way back is overextending. Sure tanking help but if everyone is not doing anything and at the back won't you be pushing for nothing? Additionally, while I agree that teamwork in random games is hard to get, it is not impossible. Otherwise you just work with what you have. Enemy CV trying to attack me in my DD? I'll run to the nearest ship with better AA then me. Sure the allied ship may or may not push in and support me but I at the very least help myself by using his AA to my advantage. 1) Look I'm not talking about BBs getting one shot and all that stuff. You said that "The game should reward skill, not just add massive RNG which punishes or rewards by rolling dice" to which I explained to you how a DB attack works and how can it be avoided/minimized. But you insist that it is impossible to avoid because of the slow rudder shift, exposing your broadside and how planes are faster. Again I explain that you don't have to even do a full turn. Even a slight turn to the left or right is suffice to put your BB out of that drop zone. Therefore it is totally within you capability to avoid that drop/minimise damage and the RNG factor is for the CV player not you since given just by that slight turn at most 1/2 bombs can hit you. Well let's just leave it at that. If you feel that it's impossible to dodge a DB strike and that it is completely RNG and you can't do anything about it then so be it.
