TBH i doubt anyone but hardcore ship enthusist would want those ships. The Pan-asian nations did not have any major naval combat involving their own ships since most of us still belong to you Colonisers except for Thailand. Unless you consider the pride of having a ship of your country on the tech tree. In that case I demand a random blueprint ship for Singapore.

Nah its possible. Just free-xp and get the DB upgrade first, then either AS if you don't mind the long grind or Strike if you want to exercise your brain abit and then its settled. Just know that Lexi's own ship AA gets pretty ridiculous with the 2nd hull upgrade and will shred almost any attack that is not concentrated.

I rarely agree with avenger on matters regarding CVs but in this case I have to agree on the "entertaining yourself" part. We all have good games we like to talk about but a thread dedicated to your exploits in the Kaga? Kaga is by no means a weak tier 7, competative or otherwise. In fact if we're gonna talk about weak tier 7 CVs I'll say in general it would be the Ranger. Just because the Kaga's planes are weaker does not diminsh the fact that it has very potent strike capability and can also perform decent aa duty. Heck I've outplayed Saipan players who have same or better skills than me in the Kaga a few times, which I probably cannot replicate in the Ranger given the limited squadrons available. Possible, but very difficult. I'm sorry but at this point this thread seems more like your personal Kaga glory thread. Edit: I apologise for being harsh but your postings kinda take away the beauty of it if it makes any sense. Rather than being about the CV it becomes "oh viceadmiral123 got his daily medals in the kaga again"

Will this topic beat the 40 pages found in: Stay tune to find out people ;)

Well what can we do? Just leave them in their false sense of reality I guess.

<I've played some CVs> <You don't need to play CVs to know that they're OP, being on the receiving end is a good enough experience> <I played tier 10 CVs in PT. OP CV confirmed>

Whoops forgot about that. Well that guy was amusing though. I wonder how he even got that kind of idea.
-
Careful guys, there is a new cheat that allows CV to reload planes faster The things people believe in nowadays
-
Yeah but given that you only have 4 planes per TB, all the target has to do is turn, click on the planes and make you keep on adjusting your drops and at the same time, wreck your planes. Doesn't work on USN planes that well though.
-
Only problem it faces is those high tier AAs. Apart from that its a pretty all rounded CV with the 2/2/2 load out. Also on the topic of IJN having weaker planes compared to USN this is what I mean: Ignore the part on the Lion's AA but this is what I mean when I say the Taiho and Hakuryu are not truly invincible as what they appear to be to the masses. You send your planes in 1 by 1 like that you'll get wrecked. If the target knows what he's doing your planes will also get wreck cause of their lower health even if you stack them. On the other hand, if it's USN squadrons attacking Flamu, that Lion would probably be wrecked very fast. Massed/stacked USN strike squadrons can only be truly stopped by enemy fighters or a group of enemy ships pooling AA. Lone ships will definitely get wrecked no matter the AA.

I feel that it'll take away the fun in playing CV. The only reason why there is an imbalance is because of the load out+the role of a CV. A CV playing properly should be doing damage, scouting and providing AA support. While load outs in general are classified under stock/balance, strike and AS, it doesn't really apply to IJN CVs since all their load outs can fulfill the above 3 roles whereas USN CVs are the ones forced to perform specific roles based on their load out. AS can't deal significant damage but can scout and provide AS. Strike deals significant damage but can't provide AA support. Meanwhile stock/balance is only useful up till the Ranger and ineffective at tier 8 while at tier 9 its kinda meh and only somewhat decent again at tier 10 with 2/1/2.

Well they feel like the most balanced CA class in game to me. Like neither strong nor weak. Just nicely in the middle. Perhaps that's why.

It'll be a longgggggg challenge. Great ship.

Got the Trump Wagon now, all monetary issues solved ;)

You can run to your own CV if you're willing to invest in bft and aft. Did that in the base on my Bogue.
-
I was so afraid of moving up to Shokaku cause of the cost of running CVs at high tier. Now I have both tier 9s and no more premium. Will be a pain to run them :(
-
Yeap. Plus the planes are slightly stronger compared to Ryujo given the amount of planes per squad.
-
Slight correction my friend. Inde is pretty decent at dishing out damage, provided you know what target to hit and is able to hit it, especially in the tiers your Inde will play. Against anything that lower tier than itself, the Inde's TB can 1 hit CAs and DDs while severely damaging BBs and CVs, which you then finish up with the DB by setting fires after they damage con. Against higher tier ships just rely on dot damage by fire or flooding. Ryujo have more flexibility when it comes to attacking while Inde is more of a 1 hit/high damage assassin that can only make 1 attack, if it makes any sense.

Having no fighters is a slight weakness and yes 1/1/1 is weak, which is why strike is the way to go, or AS if you're a masochist. It's just that Lexi isn't the doom and gloom people make it out to be. While I agree that it's difficult to play and maybe at the same skill level it gets harder, how often would you meet a person that is at the same skill level or better? Also when you consider my stats, I've played strike load out all the way (free-xped the load out) and I still do decent in plane kills ;) Plus I did more avg damage than in Shokaku, especially in tier 9/10 games. So it shows that Lexi can still be played decently right now. Sure it needs some buff to the 1/1/1 but apart from that I think its pretty ok.
-
What's the problem with Lexi?
-
You don't play alot of CV do you?
-
Well it is a form of team play. If it's gonna force ships to stick together to share AA then by those ship clustering together its a form of team play isn't it? The definition of team play isn't forcing people to just cluster together and use their AA is it? Because that is how you seem to be viewing it. Team play is how each ship help each other out isn't it? The BB that tanks while the team focus fire on targets, the CA providing their utility skills like radar or defensive AA or covering a DD that is capping, the DD that is spotting and the CV spotting, providing AA etc. Those are just some of the various form of team play that you can find in this game. If you're so nit picky about it then just tell them to say its a form of team play then. Team play isn't a singular thing that is limited to sticking together and I really doubt that people are implying that the only teamwork in the game is when people are clustering together to share AA. To be honest if you know where the CV planes are heading towards already then its your prerogative to take some action to minimize the damage. If you spread out and let the enemy CV take advantage of it then that's poor team play right there, or a form of poor team play if you're gonna be picky about it.

Yes, have the largest ship in the game go in front so that all the enemies can shoot at it. How would you feel if you can't shoot your guns or torp every time you get set on fire. For God's sake have some common sense when using a stupid argument. "Oh the CVs camp in the back and don't take any damage, so unfair"
-
I think people forget that it is not some Korean starcraft 2 player playing CV but a normal human beings. If a CV focuses his attention to scout you it is either because: a) He has won the air fight against your CV b) Has nothing to do at the moment. But a CV cannot be scouting you the entire game unless a) has been achieved so he has to split his time scout you, striking a target or providing AA. If you can't take advantage of him not paying attention, then the problem does not lie with the CV but you yourself. Someone said something about sticking together and how it is usually difficult to get everyone to group together to share AA but have you thought about just using your friendly AA yourself? When I play in a DD and the enemy CV comes after me, I personally go towards the nearest friendly ship with a decent AA and use their AA for myself. I don't have to ping or demand for AA protection. I make the effort to provide myself with the said AA protection. So again the problem does not lie with CVs, but players who are either too lazy or can't be bothered to learn and then blame CVs for their failings.

He's just as bad as the people he accuses. Had a game with him the other day on Two Brothers where he in a Charles Martel and Div mate in Alabama couldn't even push down D point with the rest of the team there even though there was only 1 enemy DD and 2 BB. His teammate kept on spamming the CV to spot and granted the CV was at fault as well for not spotting its laughable that a single kagero/yugemo managed to hold them off and dictate their movement cause they had no balls to push. Meanwhile the enemy team steamrolled through A. You know what's the funniest? He came in bottom of the team and barely contributed. Classic case of pot calling the kettle black and blaming people who play better than him.
