Maybe ship strafing could be a British CV national trait ;) Give their fighters the ability to do a ship strafe with guns, bombs and rockets that sorta thing.
-
CV gameplay is about creativity and flexibility. Think about it. From the perspective of a team player, I send my fighters out to help my DD scout the caps at the start of the game. With ship strafing I can help my DD chase away that enemy DD without having to wait for my DBs or TBs to come over and then attempt to drop on that DD. My friendly DD gets more immediate support in addition to scouting now. See. One team play aspect straight away right there.

Maybe divisions with CVs should have a +1 -1 limit only

@El2aZeR @Gnirf You guys know where to find the info on it? I guess its a dynamic division like what you guys said. edit: Oh wait never mind I got it. I keep on thinking its a CV specific thing and forgot about the division tier patch change -
You have to admit it can add another interesting dimension into the game that will be pretty interesting. Plus more decision making, waste ammo to say suppress enemy AA and damage equipment (rudder, engine, aa mounts etc) and do some minor health damage and potentially set fire or use it to provide air cover Plus if it makes my life easier cause someone only wants to strafe at ships all day while I strafe their planes I'm all for it Dunno why it has an Irish tune but I guess that's a plus

Was it ever meant as a torpedo fighter? Can't find info on that anywhere. Ship strafing though with guns and bombs though
-
Well for the French CAs at least every other shot seem to damage your rudder or engine but apart from them I would say the other CAs don't really need LS.

Don't forget that high tier CVs are pretty long and fat and have a larger turning area You'll have to turn as soon as you spot the planes coming towards you in order to make use of that maneuverability.
-
CV at lower tiers would have to rely on the DCP method to CV snipe but I think with higher tier say Taiho, Haku and Midway you can rely on the raw high alpha potential of the TBs to heavily damage the other CV, then finish up the small remainder by DB and lighting fires and stuff Have BFT and manual AA. Not impressed enough with my AA lol.
-
Ah ok, then I guess for me it like what I said above, just readjust and give more lead and make them run into the torps. The turning radius of CAs, BBs and CVs aren't really the best as compared to a DD which can usually turn on a dime so a decent lead can land enough torps to sink or heavily damage an enemy ship.

USS Missouri will become unavailable with 0.7.2 (roughly 2 months from now), a new T9 BB will take its place

Maybe they'll make Musashi unique by giving it 12km secondaries with 10s reload just to make up for everything else -
The thing about defensive AA is, unless its a ship that has very good AA using it, say a Cleveland, most of the time it just panics your plane or you lose one or 2 planes. Say a Nurenberg uses defensive AA against your Hiryu TBs, you know they won't go poof like if you try it on a Cleveland, so without panicking as a player, readjust the aim abit. If they're turning with defensive AA on, change the attack angle and give abit more lead, if not turning then just give more lead I guess. You make them run into the torps that are spread out by defensive AA while they're moving. Pretty effective against anything bigger than a DD. People sometimes wonder why I can kill them/ land torps even with defensive AA on. That's the reason why lol. Ps: 2 lines is how many torps? 8 torps?
-
Hahaha who says you can't drop through defensive AA . Just have to adjust the drop abit. Another thing to practice That being said Lexi and Midway have pretty ridiculous AA but the rest are easier to kill, defensive AA or not.

You have the option to buy the ship. If you don't like the ship, don't buy it. There is no commissar standing next to you with a gun say "Eh comrade, you getting the DoY no?" The missions are free. You can grind for it to get the rewards, you don't have to buy the DoY to get it. Harder? Definitely? Enticement from WG? Sure. If you really want the reward so bad then buy the DoY and have earlier access or whatever. As for myself I'll just grind through the missions and see what I'll get. I want those rewards but I ain't gonna get the DoY just to get them. All those rewards are just benefits that you get from completing anyway. Calling it a cash grab is just a form of entitlement. So WG has to give you all those ships with those exclusive skins for free? Is that what you're saying? Cause that's what I inferred from OP's post. If that's another way of them making money why not? Not saying WG hasn't made bad business decisions like the Graf Zeppelin incident but in this case I don't really see anything wrong with this. WG is a business at the end of the day. Bills, salaries etc have to be paid. Simple logic. At the very least think of the server hamsters. If they're not fed , the Great Hamster Revolution of 2017 will occur once again. Don't want that do you.

I guess first thing you have to know is what ships have what kind of AA. Certain ships are a big no no depending on your tier of CV or country of CV. For example say a Gneisenau, it's AA is pretty good so it can possibly take down a number of Hiryu's TBs as they attack even if stacked. On the other hand, using a Ranger's DBs stacked, you can brute force through most of its AA since they have more "health" and numbers. Losing planes is part and parcel of CV play. Like the saying "failure is the best teacher"? So don't be afraid. The longer you hold back, the more chance you give the enemy to win since you're not damaging them. Scout early, see which area you should avoid, say the enemy has a Cleveland on the right flank along with the enemy CV fighters then strike left instead that kind of thing. I use to practice with the Bogue in random battles until they removed manual strafe and attack. Those were the days

It's a business, not a charity. Why not you go into a cafe or restaurant and have a meal and not pay for it? Just say the food's garbage. After all you're entitled to do so. Meh people this days.

I think different classes affect the game at different timing. For example, DDs are more influential at the start and end of the game due to their stealth. A team with a DD that survive till end game compared to the other that does not, have a higher chance of winning through capping or stopping the opposing side's points. CVs can be said to be good all game, but it really depends on how much and what type of planes are left end game. Having planes to spot the enemy DD capping your base is useless if you don't have any strike planes and the nearest friendly is 10+ km away. BBs and CAs I would say are good at influencing early to mid game. CAs with radar and hydro can influence late game well but again, it depends on their positioning. If they're far away then having those utilities is kinda useless anyway. Just my thoughts on how the different classes influence the game. I mean you can have those steamroll games where the whole team pushes and just wreck the other team. Anything can happen in WoWs tbh

Nope, I'm actually more ok with Tears tbh. Every time on North when I see a BB or CA go to the D cap point I know that there is a very high chance of us losing the game because they barely contribute towards the game by being there. There are some very rare occasions when a person knows what he's doing, say a BB saying that he'll help hold off D, but that's dependent then on the team not going over to D to join him and push A,B or C. On the other hand for Tears, I'll rather my team camp at spawn near the epic center if anything, plus there is more clear line of sight to shoot from the side to the middle of the map, unlike North, where all the points are more or less separate from each other and flank support fire is pretty impossible, which will stagnate teams if they don't dare to push. Tears of the cruisers wise I don't really have much hard feelings either lol. If there is too much focus fire, I just run to the middle rock area and hide abit. My original ca play style is by the skin of the teeth style anyways, dodging and angling here and there with IFA. Cover and stealth I incorporate in but yeah soooo I'm still ok with it. Also Mino is a pretty good DD and in fact on the epic center mode I sometimes play it pretty aggressively to lock down the middle. Pew pew pew in smoke, area denial, kill other DDs
-
Yeap I get what you mean, though it still feels kinda weird. Perhaps if it was a ship with turtleback armor like the German BBs I can understand the bounce, but isn't USN BBs pretty flat?
-
He was lucky it wasn't the old Essex lol, otherwise I would have done even more damage. Apologies for not greeting you in game Stacking strike aircraft squads and then strike a target helps in dealing with ship AA. That was actually one of the reason why I got through most of the Montana's AA. The flip side is that your planes will be very exposed to enemy fighter strafes.
-
Lol at least u guys get overpens. I was literally next to an Iowa in my missouri and the guy bounced 6 of shells at point blank range. I think I'm less bothered about this whole overpen and stuff cause to me BBs have high alpha damage in exchange for RNG. As long as my BBs do not have SC or Kawachi level accuracy that's good enough for me.
-
Meh wait till you see my CAs like Hipper overpenning Yamatos for some odd reason. Now that is truly ridiculous.
-
Easy way to limit the ,,new,, players... in high tiers.

Well I jinxed myself lol, got raged at by a "full AA built" Montana that does not understand the concept of AA.
