Torp and bomb bombers always automatically return back to the ship to land after dropping their torps or bombs. However if you command them to say avoid an AA ship that is along their return path or in the situation you described, press f.

Yeah with the old strike loadout of USN CVs you can literally almost brute force true everything. IJN requires you to a bit more selective in dealing with targets, but were more all rounded overall.

Well it's even more important not to die in rank straight away so I can understand why they'll run. Personally if I'm in my Fletcher I'll probably stay in the cap and kill the Kagero since the fighter can do jack to me except spotting me while the Kagero prays that his teammates shoot at me. If the fighter starts strafing me it'll be a different story though. It's up to each individual player I guess on who you gonna play it and how far you're willing to go.

Well it does show anything can happen in this game, like the time I detonated a DD with AP shells.
-
Old thread but someone's yamato got detonated by a khaba so why can't a bismark detonate?

Which forum members have you seen in random battles?

@Boris_MNE stop stalking me in game. Twice in a day already -
No problem. Have fun with it. Sometimes I miss that 3rd DB. You can literally one hit ko lightly armored CAs sometimes.
-
One class's nerf is another's buff. Just because it is indirect does not mean it is not a buff. With all the patches, BBs are the least negatively affected class in the entire game.
-
We'll have to agree to disagree then. I prefer scenario 2. It's a risk, but I feel it's worth it. It can go in any possible way in any case so why not have a go.
-
I wouldn't mind to be honest. If it helps my team why not? I temporary sacrifice a few planes but'll I'll make up for it later. Better then losing a DD so early in the game ain't it?

Musashi will cost 92... nope! 750k freePex !

But the fact is that they both belong to the same class of ship, just with different "loadout" in terms of secondaries and AA. That's why people compare them both together rather than with the Izumo. For me, I don't mind a Yamato with nerfed stats, but at least make it unique in some way. -

Well there isn't really anything wrong comparing sister ships isn't it? If WG created a tier 9 Montana premium clone then people will compare that to the Montana. I feel WG have the opportunity to make the Musashi abit more unique. Nothing wrong with lowering it's stats here and there but give it something that will make it unique, like the Missouri. As it is now it's just a Yamato with lousier stats. I mean it has those Mogami turrets, why not make it a Yamato with lousier stats but with crazy secondaries? That way it at least justifies the cost of getting it. -
I had a look earlier and pretty sure it does. Hahaha but just in case you can double check on it. On some maps ( can't remember the name but the one with a diamond shaped layout capture points and red sky all the time) like Haven you get spotted almost immediately if you move forward when stock (happened to me that's why). Might be good to go full concealment right off the bat. That and fighters. Edit: Here you go:

It's ok..............................next year will be better

That's the thing. I can don't commit my TBs, but what about my friendly DD then? A hypo but say the friendly DD is a Kagero up against a Fletcher, the Fletcher outguns him. With the strafe I can help him out abit and force the Fletcher to focus more on my planes than the Kagero. If my Kagero survives till end game, then it wouldn't have been a waste. If the Fletcher leaves the cap while my Kagero completes the cap, it wouldn't be a waste. Plus I've won games without having air superiority. Air superiority is a huge plus, but not absolute. The team play though is the more important factor to me (well usually. We both know crap happens).
-
I lose games as well, but if I keep on losing or meet too many lunatics then I'll just take a short break before playing again. Not good for my blood pressure, gameplay and everyone else if I'm angsty while playing

2 things you may want to consider: a) 1000 pd bombs are awesome, so you may want it earlier than later but I guess that's more of a up to you thing. b) More importantly and extremely unfortunately, Lexi can be spotted from the moon. Add on the fact that the ships it will face all have pretty long range as well it can make you a very nice shell magnet. So it is advisable to go with a concealment built (Essex isn't that bad but when you reach Midway, you get spotted from Mars instead of the Moon now). So you may also want to consider getting the hull upgrade earlier as it reduces your detectability by 1.8km, from 17.5km to 15.7km.

Personally I just find it a waste if my TBs miss. Sure it forces him off the cap, but at the expense of me wasting those TB squad/s that could have gone after easier targets. Plus I wouldn't have to over focus too much. Say the other guy isn't a potato and provides air cover for his DD as well. Within that cap area I'll have to juggle between fighter to fighter combat as well as trying to sink that DD and at the same time ensuring that he doesn't strafe out of a fighter lock at my TBs while I try to sink that DD. With just the fighter I can focus on chasing out that DD and deal with the fighters which for me is a plus. What happen if it's a DD with defensive AA? Less stuff less complication. Chase/ scare the DD out of the cap with a strafe, then focus on dealing with the enemy fighters.
-
Meh he only killed me with a lucky torp near the end of the battle after his team got wrecked. Almost dodged it and was gonna sink him as he only had a silver of a health left Ah but you see, are they truely OP? You get good CV players and you get bad CV players. Claiming a CV is OP just because of the ship itself is wrong then aint it since it'll be more player dependent? I potatoed again

My reply is roughly what Estaca has said, although I'll add with abit of theory crafting that ship strafing in that context would be abit better than a TB drop. No doubt a TB drop can kill or heavily damage the enemy DD and reload faster, but is it a gurantee? For me I mess up drops here and there, so those drops will become wasted while the enemy DD just lols. Harder to miss with a ship strafe assuming it works like a normal strafe. So in exchange for better "accuracy" just make them do little damage but able to incapacitate/destroy modules or start fires. So it acts as a good an immediate deterent againt enemy DDs while providing friendly DDs the necessary support they need with more gurantee. In addition, between this topic and the British CV one i was thinking instead of using regular ammo, why not give the fighters say only 1 charge of ship strafe apart from the regular fighter ammo so it can be more "controlled" and if you wanna ship strafe again u have to reload. Would help abit with the potato constantly strafe ship reasoning and wasting fighter ammo, but I'll prefer the wasting fighter ammo part given the reason i stated in my earlier post

I dunno what's going on in this thread but here you go, a non-AA built tier 9 BB shooting down 26 Hakuryu plane. So stop saying tier 10 CVs are OP. The BBs in this game literally shot down more tier 10 CV planes combined than both tier 10 CVs combined shooting down tier 10 CV planes

It's a learning thing like what the Colonel said. Know which DDs have good AA or have defensive AA. If you see those DDs when you're playing your Shokaku, test the water first. If you know its fully AA built that sorta thing, then never try and go near it again, well as much as possible. If you know you've triggered it's defensive AA then by all means go ahead when it's on cool down. I've had CV players constantly flying over my Fletcher or try to attack me even though I have defensive AA on. Had a game where I was nice enough to tell this Enterprise player that I have defensive AA and he spent the entire game trying to sink me. Farmed alot of plane kills that game.

What's this about winrate dropping?

EDIT In a game a few days back. Not that I'm affected by it since I wasn't playing the CV in this game but it's kinda feels near sadistic level to force a tier 8 CV into a tier 10 game and on top of that having to face 2 DMs that are probably AA built.
